2. It is infectious viral borne disease of
cattle
•it is ch` by:
•Sudden onset
•Fever
•Stiffness and lameness
•Muscle tremors and shivering
•Rapid spontaneous recovery
3. Clinical findings
•1-fever(40-41(
•2-Anorexia and sharp decrease in milk yield
•3-muscle weakness, shivering, lameness &
stiffness
•4-salivation and lacrimation
•5-in the 3rd
day the animal begin eating and the
fever subside but the lameness persist for 2-3
days
•6-some cases: pulmonary emphysema, s/c
emphysema and prolonged recumbence
4. The treatment
•1-i/m injection of streptopencide
•2vials/12 hr
•Or i/v injection of panterramycine
•1cm /10 kg b.wt
•2-i/v injection of analgine 50- 75 cm
•3-I/m or i/v injection of dexamethasone
•5-12cm
•4-i/v infusion of glucose5% 1-2 liters
