The Great Wall of China extends approximately 8,851 km across northern China from east to west. It was built for defensive purposes over centuries to protect against attacks from nomadic peoples located north of China. In 1987, the Great Wall was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List due to its long history and impressive architecture. It is one of the most visited places in the world, attracting over 10 million visitors annually.

The Great Wall of China is
located in the North of China,
bordering the Gobi Desert
(Mongolia) and North Korea.
It meets the Gulf of Bohay, in the
northern part of the East China
Sea, in Shanhaiguan. About 300
kilometers from Beijing.

It extends approximately 8851

history and covers all kinds of
landscapes (meadows, valleys,
mountains and deserts).

The Great Wall was included

work of military use.

national holiday, the monument
was visited by an incredible 8
million people. Just in one day!
But normally more than 10 million
people visit it a year.

It's estimated that more than 400.000 people
died during the contruction of the Great Wall of
China.

It was build to protect the Chinese Empire from
