Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th to commemorate the death of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Traditionally celebrated in Ireland, it is also widely observed in other countries with Irish heritage like the United States, Canada, and Argentina. On Saint Patrick's Day, people wear green clothing and shamrocks, participate in parades, drink alcohol, and attend parties with Irish music and dancing. Children celebrate by making crafts in school and participating in parades dressed as leprechauns.
