- Life began on Earth around 3 billion years ago as tiny boneless animals living in the sea. Over millions of years, these early life forms evolved and adapted to live in different parts of the world.
- Dinosaurs first appeared around 230 million years ago during the Mesozoic Era. There were over 300 dinosaur species, some herbivores and some carnivores.
- Dinosaurs became extinct around 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period, possibly due to an asteroid impact that caused climate changes dinosaurs could not adapt to.
For the last 20 years, archaeologists have discovered many feathered dinosaur fossils in China that have helped reveal the original colors of dinosaurs. A recent discovery of preserved melanosomes, or pigment cells, on fossilized feathers is allowing scientists to map the colors and patterns of dinosaurs like Anchiornis for the first time rather than relying on educated guesses.
Millions of years ago, dinosaurs thundered over the earth. However, until the 19th century when the first fossils were discovered, no one knew dinosaurs existed. Now paleontologists have identified over 330 different kinds of dinosaur fossils. While it's difficult to know exact details, dinosaurs lived during the Mesozoic era and included both herbivores and carnivores. The carnivores hunted the herbivores, who ate plants. Dinosaurs eventually went extinct around 66 million years ago.
Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago before humans existed. They came in a wide range of sizes from as small as a chicken to over 30 meters long. While no one knows for sure what dinosaurs sounded like or their colors, fossils provide evidence that they were reptiles that hatched from eggs and included both herbivores and carnivores. Some of the largest dinosaurs described include Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex, while smaller ones discussed are Stegosaurus, Iguanodon, and Triceratops. Fossils are what provide scientists information about dinosaurs since they became extinct millions of years ago before humans.
Dinosaurs existed millions of years ago before humans. They lived during the Mesozoic Era and were prehistoric reptiles that ruled the Earth around 160 million years ago. Dinosaurs died out millions of years ago but have fascinated people ever since their fossils were first discovered and described in the early 1800s.
Dinosaurs were the most advanced reptiles that once dominated the Earth. They exhibited a wide range of diets, including carnivorous, herbivorous, and omnivorous species. Around 65 million years ago, a meteorite impact is believed to have changed the climate and caused the extinction of all non-avian dinosaurs. Some of the herbivorous dinosaurs that lived in North America during this period included Triceratops, known for its three horns, and Edmontosaurus, which grew up to 10 meters tall. Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest carnivores, reaching 13 meters in length and weighing 6-8 tons, making it the most famous dinosaur.
This document provides information on different types of dinosaurs that lived during various periods, including the Anatotitan, Triceratops, Gallimimus, Minmi, Tyrannosaurus, Prenocephale, Pteranodon, and Mesosaurs. Each dinosaur's name, size, weight, diet, and period they lived in is listed. The document aims to teach about the different kinds of dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth.
The document provides information about dinosaurs, including that the word dinosaur means "terrible lizard," dinosaurs lived until around 65 million years ago and likely went extinct due to an asteroid or volcano, and there were two main types of dinosaurs - Saurischia and Ornithischia - which were distinguished by differences in their hip structure and included herbivorous and carnivorous subgroups.

Dinosaurs ranged greatly in size, from chicken-sized to over 100 feet long. While most dinosaurs were herbivores, or plant-eaters, the exact colors and patterns of dinosaurs remains unknown. Dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago, with the longest dinosaurs reaching over 100 feet and 50 feet tall, and none possessed the ability to fly, despite their large sizes.
This document provides information about two dinosaurs: Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus. It describes key details about each such as their names, sizes, weights, diets, periods they lived in, and locations. Velociraptor was a smaller theropod that lived 80 million years ago in Mongolia, while Tyrannosaurus was a much larger theropod that inhabited North America 65 million years ago. The document also notes the vast range in sizes of dinosaurs, from the smallest being chicken-sized to the largest exceeding 100 feet in length.
The document discusses several theories about what caused the extinction of dinosaurs. One theory is that a severe ice age caused temperatures and water levels to drop dramatically, creating conditions dinosaurs could not survive. Another popular theory is that an asteroid impact wiped out the dinosaurs. The document also describes different types of dinosaurs, including herbivorous and carnivorous species, and what types of plants and other dinosaurs they preyed upon in the food chain.
Millions of years ago, dinosaurs lived on Earth for over 165 million years in many different forms, from huge to small, and some could move quickly on two legs while others walked slowly on four legs. Herbivorous dinosaurs like diplodocus ate plants, while carnivorous dinosaurs like velociraptors and T-Rex preyed on meat. Eventually, dinosaurs mysteriously became extinct, and all that remains are fossils discovered in the earth and rock.
Hominids first appeared around 3 million years ago after dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. Early hominids like Lucy and Homo habilis differed from apes in their ability to walk upright and use stone tools. Later hominids controlled fire, made clothing, and developed language and complex tools during the Stone Age. Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon man were advanced early humans who lived in Europe, using tools, art, and fire for survival. Cave paintings left by Cro-Magnon provide clues about early human life and culture.
A meteorite struck Earth around 65 million years ago, killing the dinosaurs and over half of all life forms. Dinosaurs first appeared around 225 million years ago and evolved from earlier reptiles called thecodonts. The largest dinosaur was the ultrasaurus, while Tyrannosaurus rex was the strongest. Herbivorous dinosaurs ate plants, carnivorous dinosaurs ate meat, and omnivorous dinosaurs ate both plants and meat. The meteorite impact kicked up dust that blocked the sun's warmth and light, destroying plants and leaving dinosaurs without food. This led to the extinction of the dinosaurs except for early mammals.
Scientists have discovered dinosaur footprints in Poland that date back 2 million years after the worst mass extinction event 252 million years ago. This suggests that dinosaurs arose much earlier than previously thought, directly as a result of ecological gaps left by the mass extinction. The footprints were from small, cat-sized creatures that walked on four legs and were likely herbivorous. This discovery challenges the view that dinosaurs emerged 15-20 million years after the extinction and provides evidence that the devastation paved the way for dinosaurs to fill empty niches left by destroyed predators.
Dinosaurs lived in many forms until about 65 million years ago, when they all went extinct. Scientists have proposed several theories for their disappearance, including changes in climate that made the world colder and reduced plant life, diseases spreading as dinosaurs migrated between continents, and a large asteroid colliding with Earth that blocked sunlight and destroyed the food chain. While no single explanation is certain, it is likely the dinosaurs could not adapt to the environmental changes occurring at the end of the Cretaceous period.
This document provides information about two dinosaurs: Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus. It describes key details about each such as their names, sizes, time periods they lived in, diets, and locations. Additionally, it provides some general information about dinosaur sizes, noting the largest could be over 100 feet long while the smallest were about the size of a chicken.
The document discusses the history of paleontology and robotics, and how recent advances in these fields have led to the creation of robotic dinosaurs. It describes Peter Dilworth's creation of Troody, the first robotic dinosaur in the US, which took 5 years to develop and could walk thanks to spring-like joints and force control sensors. It also discusses how 3D printing is now allowing scientists to create accurate models of dinosaur bones to better understand dinosaur anatomy and movement, with the goal of developing robotic dinosaur limbs. The document concludes by describing a theme park called Field Station: Dinosaurs that houses dozens of life-size robotic dinosaur species in a natural setting.

Velociraptors were small, feathered, meat-eating dinosaurs that lived 80-85 million years ago. They were about 5-6 feet long, 2.5-3 feet tall, and weighed 15-40 pounds. They had sickle-clawed hands and feet, a long stiff tail, and a thin snout. An asteroid impact around 160 million years ago caused widespread extinction of dinosaurs by changing the climate and environment through acid rain, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions, making it difficult for many dinosaurs to survive. Plant-eating dinosaurs made up most of the population and ate plants like trees, ferns, and later fruits, while meat-eaters hunted animals and some sc

The mass extinction of dinosaurs randi leigh thomasMark McGinley
The document summarizes several theories for the mass extinction of dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous period, approximately 66 million years ago. The most widely accepted theory is that a large meteor struck the Yucatan Peninsula, causing global climate changes like cooling temperatures and acid rain that dinosaurs could not adapt to. Additionally, massive volcanic eruptions in India also contributed to changing the climate and releasing greenhouse gases. Diseases carried by insects may have also weakened dinosaur populations. The mass extinction was likely caused by a combination of these catastrophic events occurring simultaneously.
The horse evolved over 50 million years, starting as a small forest-dwelling animal called Hyracotherium with multiple toes and browsing dentition. As the climate dried in North America, horses like Mesohippus and Miohippus developed tougher teeth and longer legs suited for browsing open woodlands. Later forms like Merychippus evolved grazing dentition and spring-loaded feet for running, with some lines retaining three toes. Pliocene genera like Pliohippus and Dinohippus had one toe and increasingly horse-like skulls. Modern Equus emerged in the Pleistocene with rigid spines, long legs and straight grazing teeth, diversifying into zebras, asses and domestic horses before dying out in the

The document summarizes the history and key facts about dinosaurs. It discusses how scientists first began studying dinosaur bones in the 1820s and how Sir Richard Owen coined the term "dinosaur" in 1842. It describes how dinosaurs have since been divided into orders, genera, and species. Some dinosaurs were bipedal, others quadrupedal, and they exhibited a wide range of behaviors and traits. The document also summarizes theories about what caused the mass extinction of dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
Dinosaurs ruled the Earth for millions of years during the Mesozoic Era until about 66 million years ago, when they mysteriously went extinct. They were giant prehistoric reptiles that lived long before humans existed and were not discovered by scientists until the 19th century. Dinosaurs came in many different kinds and fascinated people once their fossils were found and they were learned about.
Hominids first appeared around 3 million years ago in Africa. Early humans like Lucy could walk upright unlike apes. Later humans called Homo habilis were taller and smarter than Lucy's species and made stone tools but did not know how to make fire. Subsequent humans called Homo erectus did know how to make fire, which allowed them to cook food and gather at night. Neanderthals were another early human species that lived in caves and were great hunters, though scientists are unsure why they went extinct. Cro-Magnon humans lived in Europe around 30,000 years ago, worked together in tribes, cured and stored food, made clothing, jewelry, boats, and famously created cave paintings though the
Early humans first appeared around 3 million years ago in the form of hominids like Lucy. Throughout the Stone Age, human species evolved and developed new abilities like walking upright, using tools, controlling fire, and making clothing. Cro-Magnon man was an advanced early human that lived in Europe around 30,000 years ago and created cave paintings of animals and handprints, though the purpose of these paintings remains a historical mystery.

Later hominids known as Handy Man were the first to use stone tools. Upright Man was able to control fire, allowing them to cook food and expand where they lived. Cro-Magnon man was an advanced early human that lived in Europe, worked together in tribes, stored food, and made clothing and art, painting in deep caves though the purpose remains a mystery.
group no.2 timeline of life forms presentation.pptxIctCss2
The document outlines a timeline of major events in the development of life on Earth from its formation 4.6 billion years ago to the present. It describes how the Earth cooled and developed a crust 3.7 billion years ago, when the first life forms of single-celled organisms emerged in the oceans around 3.5 billion years ago. Multicellular organisms first appeared around 1 billion years ago. Around 250 million years ago, a mass extinction event killed 90% of life on Earth. Dinosaurs became dominant until an asteroid impact led to their extinction 65 million years ago. Early humans emerged around 3.5 million years ago and modern humans around 200,000 years ago. Permanent settlements developed around 10,000 years ago
This document provides an overview of dinosaurs, including that they were diverse reptiles that lived during the Mesozoic Era, there were two main types (Saurischians and Ornithischians), they had various characteristics like walking on two or four legs and laying eggs, and some famous examples were Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus. The document also notes that an asteroid impact was likely the cause of the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event 66 million years ago that led to the demise of most dinosaurs but allowed some birds to evolve from dinosaur descendants.
The document summarizes key aspects of the Mesozoic Era when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. It describes the three periods (Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous), the types of plants and animals that existed during this time, including early dinosaurs. It then focuses on the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago, believed to have been caused by an asteroid impact. The impact would have caused global climate changes through atmospheric effects that disrupted ecosystems and food chains.
Early humans like Homo habilis and Homo erectus began emerging around 3 million years ago in Africa. They were tool-users and hunters/gatherers. Later groups like Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon man were more advanced, controlling fire, using clothing and shelters, and creating artworks like cave paintings. The ability to control fire allowed early humans to expand across the world, following animal herds during ice age periods when sea levels were lower and land bridges appeared.
Unit of Inquiry 4: Where We Are in Place and Time: Early Humanscastillosekel
Hominids first appeared around 3 million years ago in Africa. Early humans like Australopithecus were smaller than modern humans and used tools. Later groups like Homo habilis and Homo erectus were taller and smarter, and Homo erectus was the first to control fire. Neanderthals were also a species of early human. Cro-Magnon man was an advanced early human that lived in Europe around 30,000 years ago and made cave paintings, though the purpose of these paintings remains a mystery.
Hominids first appeared around 3 million years ago after dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. Early hominids like Lucy from 3 million years ago stood upright and had hands adapted for tool use, distinguishing them from apes. Various early human species evolved over millions of years, with later groups like Homo erectus controlling fire and migrating out of Africa, Neanderthals inhabiting caves, and Cro-Magnon creating cave paintings around 20,000 years ago to depict hunting and hands. Scientists have learned about early humans through analyzing fossils and artifacts uncovered from this time period.
Millions of years ago, dinosaurs lived on Earth for over 165 million years in many different sizes and forms, some being huge and others small, before mysteriously going extinct. Dinosaurs came in various diets such as herbivores like Diplodocus that ate leaves and carnivores like Velociraptor and T-Rex that ate meat. While the exact cause is unknown, some believe an asteroid caused environmental changes dinosaurs could not adapt to. The only things that remain of dinosaurs are fossils found in the earth and rock. The Natural History Museum in London houses one of the most important dinosaur collections in the world with over 10,000 specimens for children to enjoy through plays and activities.
Hominids first appeared around 3 million years ago in Africa. Early humans like Lucy were small hominids that walked upright unlike apes. Later groups like Homo habilis could make stone tools. Homo erectus controlled fire which allowed them to cook food and expand their range out of Africa. Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon man were skilled hunters and tool makers that populated Europe and beyond. Cro-Magnon man are notable for their cave paintings found in places like Lascaux, France, though the purpose of these paintings remains a mystery.
The document summarizes the evolution and history of reptiles. It states that reptiles arose from amphibians around 350 million years ago during the Carboniferous period. The earliest reptiles were small insect-eating lizards. Reptiles then diversified and became the dominant land vertebrates by the Permian period. During the Mesozoic era, various reptile groups flourished, especially dinosaurs which appeared in a wide variety of forms. However, most dinosaurs went extinct around 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period, likely due to an asteroid impact that caused climate change. Despite this mass extinction, modern reptile orders like turtles, lizards, snakes and crocodiles survived

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

2. Life began on Earth about three billion years ago. The first living things were tiny
boneless animals that lived in the sea, and over the course of millions of years, these
first animals developed and have become adapted to live in all parts of the world.
Almost 600 million years ago, the invertebrates: insects and mini beasts appeared. The
earliest vertebrates were in the form of fish and appeared around 500 million years
ago. From these, all the other amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals descended.
Dinosaurs were one of the several kinds of prehistoric reptiles that appeared on
Earth about 230 million years ago during the “Mesozoic Era”, (The Age of Reptiles).
There were about 330 species of dinosaurs: some were herbivores (plant eaters) and
some were carnivores (meat eaters). Some walked on two legs while others walked on
four legs. The largest dinosaur such as “Bruhathkayosaurus” was 40m long and up to
15m tall. The smallest dinosaurs like “Compsognathus” were about the size of a
chicken. The most dangerous dinosaur was Tyrannosaurus Rex (meat eater).
When dinosaurs first appeared, planet Earth was different than it is now: the
continents were joined together into a super continent called “Pangaea”. The weather
was warmer, the seasons were mild and the sea level was higher. There were plenty of
trees and plants.
For a long time, people didn’t know anything about dinosaurs until a man called
William Buckland found the first fossil of a dinosaur in 1819 in England. In 1914,
the English anatomist, Sir Richard Owen came up with the word “Dinosaur” which
means “Big Scary Lizard”.
Dinosaurs are extinct. No one is quite sure exactly why these amazing creatures
mysteriously disappeared. Scientists have different theories. Many think that 65
million years ago at the end of the “Cretaceous Era”, an asteroid hit planet Earth and
caused great climatic changes to which dinosaurs couldn’t adapt. Others think that a
kind of virus caused fatal diseases that killed all the dinosaurs off.
