The Wampanoag tribe lived in log houses made from wood and bark, and used deer skins for clothing and blankets. They cooked food over fires, used bone tools and knives to hunt and prepare animals, and originally spoke Algonquian but learned English when colonists arrived. The Wampanoag ate a three sisters crop of squash, beans and corn, and also went fishing to supplement their diet.
