The Mohawk tribe lived in longhouses that were 150 feet long, 20 feet wide, and 20 feet high. They ate foods like berries, pigs, deer, herbs, and fish. Their tools included hoes for growing crops, bows and arrows for hunting and fighting, and axes for chopping trees. The Mohawks made jewelry and crafts from feathers, animal skins, bracelets, and necklaces. Men hunted, traded, and went to war while women farmed, protected property, and the family. They traveled by dog sleds, horses, horse wagons, or on foot and spoke over 3,000 Indian languages.
