Stevie Ray Vaughan was an influential electric blues guitarist who helped revive the blues genre in the 1980s. He considered Austin, Texas his home after moving there in 1971. A memorial was commissioned in Austin to honor Vaughan, featuring a realistic bronze statue of him playing guitar with his shadow, representing his musical legacy. Plans are underway to add an interactive digital component to the memorial to provide visitors information about Vaughan on their mobile devices.
