Martin Ocelotl was a clandestine cult leader in 16th century Mexico who came from a family of important priests. He predicted the coming of the Spanish and survived the smallpox epidemic and starvation after being imprisoned. Later, he was baptized but continued to secretly practice the old faith, gathering followers. However, he was eventually declared a sorcerer and sent to Spain, where the ship disappeared, but his followers continued his religious practices in his absence.
