5. What is Sonnet
A Sonnet has 14 lines and is written in iambic pentameter. It has
a specific rhyme scheme and a “Volta” or a specific turn

6. Introduction of the poem
This poem is a love poem. In which Frost uses the tent as an
extended metaphor for the woman he loves. He compares the tent
with the woman. Through his comparison Frost reveals haw a
person is strongest and most free when bound by personal
commitments.

7. Writing Style/ Rhyme
Composed of fourteen lines and following a rhyming
pattern, Frost has composed a sonnet. Looking at my
analysis, it is clear that he follows the traditional pattern:

13. Summary
In this poem, Robert Frost describes a tent in the middle of a field
that is being warmed by the summer air. Because of the summer
sun, the tent is able to stand independently of all else, and does
not need the ropes to support itself. However, when it rains, or
when there is a change in weather, the tent relies on the central
pole as well as other supports to keep itself up.

14. Theme
I believe that the reoccurring theme in this poem is freedom, and how
the way a person interprets their situation is how freedom is
bounded. Within this poem, Frost compares a woman to a tent and
shows how the weather is what allows the tent to be loose and free, or
bounded and constricted. He says that when not bounded, the soul is
sure. I believe that he is trying to say that you cannot let things as little as
the weather, affect your attitude, and that it is up to you and the
connections and relationships you make with people.
