John 10 Jesus is the good shepherd but not all are his sheep. Jesus sheep are Sensitive, they hear his voice. Jesus sheep are special, they are known by him. Jesus sheep are smart, they follow him. Jesus sheep are saved, he gives them eternal life. Jesus sheep are secure, nothing can snatch them out of his hand.

1. THE SHEEP

2. (John 10:11-15) "I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd gives His life for the
sheep. {12} "But a hireling, he who is not
the shepherd, one who does not own the
sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the
sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the
sheep and scatters them. {13} "The hireling
flees because he is a hireling and does not
care about the sheep. {14} "I am the good
shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am
known by My own. {15} "As the Father
knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I
lay down My life for the sheep.

3. JESUS’ SHEEP
A. ALL ARE NOT JESUS' SHEEP - (John 10:24-
26) Then the Jews surrounded Him and said
to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If
You are the Christ, tell us plainly." {25} Jesus
answered them, "I told you, and you do not
believe. The works that I do in My Father's
name, they bear witness of Me. {26} "But you
do not believe, because you are not of My
sheep, as I said to you.
B. So if not all people are His sheep, it is
important that we know who His sheep are,
and it is most important that we know beyond
a shadow of a doubt that we are Jesus’ sheep.

4. JESUS’ SHEEP
C. JESUS DESCRIBES HIS SHEEP - (John
10:27-29) "My sheep hear My voice, and I
know them, and they follow Me. {28} "And I
give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish; neither shall anyone snatch them
out of My hand. {29} "My Father, who has
given them to Me, is greater than all; and no
one is able to snatch them out of My
Father's hand.

5. I. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SENSITIVE
- “My sheep hear my voice,”
A. We are sensitive to his call - (Mat 11:28-30)
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest. {29}
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you
will find rest for your souls. {30} "For My
yoke is easy and My burden is light."

6. I. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SENSITIVE
- “My sheep hear my voice,”
B. We are sensitive to his commands - (Luke 6:46-49)
"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do
the things which I say? {47} "Whoever comes to Me,
and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you
whom he is like: {48} "He is like a man building a
house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the
rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat
vehemently against that house, and could not shake
it, for it was founded on the rock. {49} "But he who
heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house
on the earth without a foundation, against which the
stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And
the ruin of that house was great."

7. I. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SENSITIVE
- “My sheep hear my voice,”
C. We are sensitive to his chastising - (1 Cor
11:31-32) For if we would judge ourselves,
we would not be judged. {32} But when we
are judged, we are chastened by the Lord,
that we may not be condemned with the
world.
D. We are sensitive to his cause - (Luke 19:10)
"for the Son of Man has come to seek and
to save that which was lost."

8. I. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SENSITIVE
- “My sheep hear my voice,”
E. We are sensitive to his cautions - (Mat 7:21-
23) "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord,
Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in
heaven. {22} "Many will say to Me in that
day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
Your name, cast out demons in Your name,
and done many wonders in Your name?'
{23} "And then I will declare to them, 'I
never knew you; depart from Me, you who
practice lawlessness!'

9. II. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SPECIAL -
“and I know them,”
A. It is special to be known - BUBBA
B. We are special as Jesus' friends - (John 15:13-14)
"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down
one's life for his friends. {14} "You are My friends if
you do whatever I command you.
C. We are special as brethren - (Heb 2:11) For both He
who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified
are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed
to call them brethren,
D. We are special because he is our helper - (Heb 13:6)
So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I
will not fear. What can man do to me?"

10. III. JESUS SHEEP ARE SMART -
“and they follow me:”
A. We follow him in fishing for men - (Mark 1:17) Then
Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you
become fishers of men."
B. We follow him in suffering - (1 Pet 2:21) For to this
you were called, because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that you should follow His
steps:
C. We follow him unconcerned about what others do -
(John 21:20-22) Then Peter, turning around, saw the
disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had
leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, "Lord,
who is the one who betrays You?" {21} Peter, seeing
him, said to Jesus, "But Lord, what about this man?"
{22} Jesus said to him, "If I will that he remain till I
come, what is that to you? You follow Me."

11. IV. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SAVED -
"And I give them eternal life"
A. (Mat 13:24-30) Another parable He put forth to them,
saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed
good seed in his field; {25} "but while men slept, his
enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went
his way. {26} "But when the grain had sprouted and
produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. {27} "So
the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did
you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it
have tares?' {28} "He said to them, 'An enemy has done
this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go
and gather them up?' {29} "But he said, 'No, lest while you
gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
{30} 'Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the
time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather
together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them,
but gather the wheat into my barn."'

12. IV. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SAVED -
"And I give them eternal life"
B. Saved from hell - (Rom 5:9) Much more then,
having now been justified by His blood, we shall be
saved from wrath through Him.
C. Saved for Heaven - (1 Pet 1:3-4) Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according
to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a
living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead, {4} to an inheritance incorruptible
and undefiled and that does not fade away,
reserved in heaven for you,
D. Our home is in Heaven - (Phil 3:20) For our
citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly
wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

13. V. JESUS’ SHEEP ARE SECURE -
“neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand.”
A. (1 Pet 1:5) who are kept by the power of God through
faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
B. Romans 8:37-39 - Nay, in all these things we are more
than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of
God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
C. (2 Tim 1:12) For this reason I also suffer these things;
nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have
believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what
I have committed to Him until that Day.
D. (Heb 7:25) Therefore He is also able to save to the
uttermost those who come to God through Him, since
He always lives to make intercession for them.

A. ARE YOU ONE OF JESUS' SHEEP?
B. DO YOU LISTEN TO JESUS & FOLLOW
HIM?
C. DOES JESUS KNOW YOU?
D. DO YOU FOLLOW JESUS?
E. DO YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE AT THIS
TIME?
F. DO YOU FEEL SECURE IN THE HAND OF
GOD?
