A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. The resurrection…
We decided on this title because it relates to our plot.
Our film is going to be about a group of young,
academic adults, lead by a physician, who discover a
new solution to create a new earth as our current earth
is dying.
3. Characters…
We have used young adults to be in our film, as the genre suits their
age. A small group of academic students gather their knowledge to
create a grand plan.
We have chosen four males in the group and a female leader (a
physician)
The actors we will use are: Daniel Radcliffe, Logan Lerman, Ansel Elgort
and Maggie Smith.
We have chosen the characters above as they suit the description well
we wanted.
5. Dr Moore
• We chose this character to be in our sci-fi
film because she is influential towards
the other generation.
Her popular actress name adds interest
to the film and her intelligence adds
more wise knowledge to the students in
the group.
• Her role in the film is the leader, an
experienced physician.
6. Alex (25)
• (Daniel Radcliffe) Alex suits our
character description well, he is an
extremely well known actor who has
stared in many successful films,
therefore will bring many people to see
the film.
• His intelligence will fit well in the group
as he is full of imaginative ideas.
• He is the oldest of the boys so has a lot
of experience and has studied space
and physics for over 5 years.
7. Marcus (19)
(Logan Lerman) Marcus is the youngest in
the group, yet the most academic. He is a
strong physicist and comes up with the
plan to create a new earth when he hears
about the disastrous news of the earth
dying in 20 days.
With the help of his close friends of course,
they start their challenging mission.
8. Peter (22)
• (Ansel Elgort) Peter is the comical one
but also is extremely smart, he lightens
the mood when the group are in
difficult situations.
• He is the second youngest, so gets on
the most with Marcus and this causes
distraction at times which results in the
problem of creating the new planet.
9.
10. The problem…
• During the preparation of creating the new planet, whilst messing
about Peter and Marcus get distracted and something goes terribly
wrong. This results in a new species added to the universe which later
stops them from creating the new earth.
11. Marketing…
• We will advertise our film by creating a film poster. This poster will
include the characters close to the camera with a setting background
of the galaxy which will show the Sci-Fi genre.
• Props will include the spaceship and books to show the roles
intelligence.
• Low-Key lighting will be used in the background and high-key lighting
will be used to show the characters.
