Wix.com had 80 employees at the time but departments were not well coordinated. They tested collaboration tools but none solved the problem. In 2010, Wix created their own tool called daPulse to make information accessible across the company. It allowed information to live in topics that employees could create and maintain. This transparency empowered employees to know everything and improved accountability, acknowledgment of work, competitive analysis, and spotlighting of important information. Departments started evolving their own reports and measuring themselves better. The system also improved motivation by allowing people to see others' work. It became core to how the 400+ employee company coordinated their work.
