Emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, IIoT and Blockchain are threatening to take away millions of conventional jobs over the next three decades. They have the potential to create even more jobs for he future. But the structural changes in job markets would be painful and would vary from country to country. This presentation suggests a macro model for India to be ready to face the challenges.
Artificial intelligence (AI) currently being used by insurance companies has failed to remove gender bias from the profession’s claims, underwriting and marketing processes.
A Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) report tells insurers they must tackle these gender biases. The report found that the datasets used to train the algorithms which support AI systems are rooted in outdated gender concepts. Algorithms learn by being trained on historic data but the report notes more and more of that data is now unstructured, coming from text, audio, video and sensors.
Yet the report warns embedded in that historic data are decisions based upon historic biases, particularly around gender. The report concluded insurance firms need to prepare a structured response to this issue, starting with visible leadership on tackling gender bias in AI.

The Biggest Artificial Intelligence Milestones Of The Decade So FarBernard Marr
We are only a few years into the '20s, but by any measure, it's been an eventful decade so far. It’s frequently been said that we’ve already seen five years’ worth of technology-driven change packed into the last 18 months, mostly out of necessity, since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. And artificial intelligence (AI) development certainly hasn’t lagged behind.
Back in 2019, in what seems like another lifetime, I had a stab at picking out what I thought were the most significant developments so far in the history of AI. With everything that has developed since then, I thought it would be a good idea to round up the biggest breakthroughs and most significant developments of the current decade.
Unsurprisingly, many of the biggest and most headline-grabbing developments have been in the area of healthcare. However, ongoing research has also pushed boundaries of what is possible with natural language processing and vehicle autonomy.
Where do telecom operators go from here?CM Research
Why have telecom operators performed so badly over the last decade and what strategy do they need to adopt in order to remain relevant in the Digital World?
Telcos’ have consistently underperformed analyst and market expectations … their stock market recoveries after the 2000 crash and the 2007 crash were weak relative to the rest of TMT.
Their core revenues – voice, messaging and internet access – are now in terminal decline (or at least moving towards terminal decline).
Their future is tied to over-the-top services such as internet TV, mobile payments and cloud services.
Telcos remain the most over-regulated part of the internet value chain, so any super-normal profits they attempt to make from new technology cycles risk being capped by the regulator.
In order to survive, Telcos need to latch on to one of the many emerging technology cycles mentioned on page 19.
But they also need to change their business models:
- By moving towards software services
- By restructuring their businesses such that their new products are not regulated
- By consolidating to eliminate excess competition
SK Telecom is an example of how the move to software can raise shareholder returns.
BT’s ring-fencing of its regulated activity into Openreach is an example of the type of internal restructuring that can raise shareholder returns
AT&T and Verizon are living proof that industry consolidation will raise shareholder returns.

It is estimated that approximately one in five individuals are highly sensitive people (HSPs), which means you likely have at least one HSP on your team. HSPs process information more deeply and are more attuned to their surroundings, including lights, sounds, facial expressions, and vocal tones. While they can be exceptional employees - thoughtful, intuitive, conscientious, and dedicated high performers - they also require a unique approach to management. In this session, you will learn how to foster inclusivity and retain this neurodiverse group of individuals, who may prove to be some of your organization's most valuable assets.
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify common triggers for highly sensitive employees and understand how to mitigate them.
2. Discover effective ways to capitalize on the innate strengths of your highly sensitive team members.
3. Learn what not to say in order to avoid hurt feelings and maintain positive relationships with sensitive employees.
4. Implement communication adjustments that can significantly improve interactions with highly sensitive individuals.

a. What are the standard interview questions, and how to prepare your answers?
b. What information do I need to know for every interview?
c. How do I answer tough questions?
d. What are good questions to ask your interviewer?
e. How to answer the question: “So tell me about yourself?
f. What do I do after the interview?
g. What are common interview mistakes?
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
