LIT (Lexicon of the Italian Television) is a project conceived by the Accademia della Crusca, the leading research institution on the Italian language, in collaboration with CLIEO (Center for theoretical and historical Linguistics: Italian, European and Oriental languages), with the aim of studying frequencies of the Italian lexicon used in television content and targets the specific sector of web applications for linguistic research. The corpus of transcriptions is constituted approximately by 170 hours of random television recordings transmitted by the national broadcaster RAI (Italian Radio Television) during the year 2006.

First, an application-specific Latvian FrameNet was created in 2014 in order to facilitate the semi-automatic information extraction process for the media monitoring needs, particularly for populating and updating profiles of public persons and organizations.
Second, we are about to start the creation of a multi-layer sembank for Latvian in order to foster the research and innovation in natural language understanding (NLU) and generation (NLG). In the proposed sembank of 10,000 sentences, FrameNet annotations, in parallel to PropBank annotations, would be added on top of Universal Dependencies (UD). Both PropBank and FrameNet annotations, in turn, would serve as the basis for the Abstract Meaning Representation (AMR) layer. While the existing AMR sembank for English is based on PropBank, the integration with FrameNet is recognized as a future task.
Third, the integration of AMR and FrameNet would facilitate not only NLU but also multilingual NLG. In the latter case, we see Grammatical Framework as a complementary technology at all layers of the proposed sembank.
MLi project is working to deliver the strategic vision and operational specifications needed for building a comprehensive European MultiLingual data & services Infrastructure, along with a multiannual plan for its development and deployment, and foster multi-stakeholders alliances ensuring its long term sustainability.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Challenge: Providing each language community with the most

maintaining their mother tongue does not turn into a disadvantage.
While research has made considerable progress in recent years, the
pace of progress is not fast enough to meet the challenge within the

q
How to assess LT support for a certain language? How to arrive at
results that can be communicated to journalists?
§ Count tools and resources? Message wouldn’t really be meaningful.
§ Define quality criteria and perform a comparative evaluation?
Complicated, complex, time-consuming process – would take years.

Solution: experts provided estimations condensed in a table

maturity, sustainability and adaptability.

18. Observations
q
When it comes to Language Technology support, there are massive
differences between languages and technology areas.
q
For all LT areas, English is ahead of any other language.
q
Even support for English is far from being perfect.
q
For 16 languages, LT support is only fragmentary or very weak.
q
Most (very) large companies have stopped working in LT, leaving
the field to SMEs, which can hardly attack an international market.
q

q
Final printed white papers to be available in early 2012.

q
Three Vision Groups bring together researchers, developers,
integrators and (corporate or professional) users of LT-based
products, services and applications (ca. 25 members each).
They collect domain-specific visions and prepare individual reports.
