For as long as I can remember I have been interested in the myth of the lost continent
Atlantis, which Plato wrote about. Atlantis was an extensive insular continent that sunk into
the sea and disappeared without a trace. Its inhabitants had developed an exceptionally high
standard of civilisation. Where it was located we probably never will know for sure but many serious investigators think that it might very well be the former Santorini. For many years I also dreamt about visiting Santorini and two years ago my dream came true. The history of this island really intrigued me and its beauty and grandeur are unparalleled. Awe mixed with fear is what I felt when I stood on top of a huge cliff and looked down at the volcano and the caldera. I was standing on historical ground and I got a strong feeling that here I had found the lost Atlantis!
Atlantis in Java Sea (Conference Paper)Dhani Irwanto
Summary
After thousands of years, so many of us still search for the answer to the mystery of Atlantis. From time to time, archaeologists and historians locate evidence. There have been many locations proposed for the location of Atlantis. Ever since the first recorded history of Atlantis, written by the Greek philosopher Plato over 2,300 years ago, debate has raged as to whether or not Atlantis ever really existed.
The existence of Atlantis is supported by the fact that it is described in great details by Plato. In additions, various conditions, events and goods unknown to Plato are also described in detailed and lengthy words. The recent knowledge of late glacial and postglacial sea level rise and land subsidence that occurred almost precisely at the time described by Plato also becomes strong evidence to the truth of the story.
Plato describes the Atlantis from point of views of geography, climate, plain layout, city layout, river and channel hydraulics, produces, social structure, customs, mythology and its destruction in details including their dimensions and orientations. These become the subjects of the author to hypothesize that the lost city of Atlantis is in Java Sea, as written in a book “Atlantis: The lost city is in Java Sea”, published in April 2015. The works include over 5-year research and analysis of textbooks, papers, internet sites and digital data collected by the author as well as some site observations.
The author has made a serious effort to match Plato’s narrative with his chosen location for Atlantis, namely off the southern coast of the island of Kalimantan in the Java Sea. He also uses his professional expertise to analyse Plato’s many references to the waterways of the Atlantis capital and its extensive plain. He commendably draws attention to the remarkable water transportation and irrigation system in Central Kalimantan. He also includes a number of maps used to support his views.
He found a lot more detailed evidence, summarized in a 60-bullet checklist of agreements between Plato’s Atlantis and Sundaland/Java Sea localization, as proofs that his theory is the most complete and accurate until today.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. Introduction
Why is it even that after thousands of years, so many
of us still search for the answer to this mystery? Did it
exist or didn't it. We can't seem to let go of it.
Ever since the first recorded history of Atlantis,
written by the Greek philosopher Plato over 2,360
years ago, debate has raged as to whether or not
Atlantis ever really existed.
3. Around 350 BC, Plato wrote about a beautiful island in
the Atlantic Ocean that went under the ocean waves in
one day and one night.
It took two books
to describe the
history and details
of this
almost magical
island. For years
people have been
looking for this
mysterious lost
city, Atlantis.
4. The land was said to have been very fertile, with
abundant food, water, animals, wood, and flowers. But,
as the story goes, after several generations of ruling the
leaders became increasingly greedy and corrupt, and
started to wage war on their neighboring countries
It is shortly after the victory by the Athenians that the
entire Island continent of Atlantis, got submerged
beneath the sea "in a single day and night".
5. Did Plato write this as a
moralistic story or as a true
historic account? Did Atlantis
really exist or not?
6. The Poseidon Theory
Over 11000 years ago in the
middle of the Atlantic Ocean
there was an island
inhabited by great and
wealthy people.
Then greed started to take
over them and they were
obsessed with money.
Poseidon, the god of water,
got mad at them for being
obsessed with money. So
he made the ocean cover
the city of Atlantis and it was
gone with the sea.
7. Is It- Just a Story?
• For over two thousand years the story of Atlantis
was just a story. Then, in the late 1800s, an
American named Ignatius Donnelly became
fascinated with the story and wrote a book
called Atlantis, the Antediluvian World, which
became a bestseller.
• Ignatius studied flood history from Egypt to
Mexico and believed that Plato was recording an
actual natural disaster. Since then, several books
have been written about the lost city.
8. CONCLUSION
So what do you think really happened to the city of
Atlantis? Do you think Atlantis was real?
With our technology advancing in leaps and
bounds, we have never stood a better chance of
finding Atlantis than we do now. And It may be our
generation that finds it, after 11,600 years. Let’s
Hope we do!
