This document discusses effective negotiation techniques. It begins by outlining common negative self-talk that holds people back from negotiating effectively. It then presents a formula for effective negotiating: F2 + A + D, where F2 represents how you feel, A represents how you approach it, and D represents how you deliver. The document covers preparing, discussing, proposing, bargaining, and concluding deals. It emphasizes focusing on interests rather than positions, using facts over assumptions, and maintaining a cooperative "win-win" mindset. The goal is to empower people to negotiate confidently and achieve better outcomes.
Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist in North Carolina, invented Pepsi in 1898 while experimenting with combinations of juices and syrups to create a refreshing new drink. He named it Pepsi-Cola, possibly taking the name from a local competitor. In the early 1900s, Pepsi grew in popularity, especially during the Great Depression when it was priced at 5 cents per bottle. Over the decades, Pepsi introduced new products like Diet Pepsi and saw worldwide growth to become one of the most popular soft drinks globally.
This document discusses jaundice and hepatitis B. It defines jaundice as a yellowing of the skin and eyes caused by high bilirubin levels. It then discusses the pathophysiology of jaundice and how bilirubin is processed in the liver. Signs and symptoms include yellow skin and eyes. Diagnostic tests include liver function tests and imaging. Treatment depends on the underlying cause but may include medications, surgery, or liver transplant. The document also discusses hepatitis B as a viral infection attacking the liver that can cause acute or chronic disease.
Mitigation banking is the preferred method for offsetting environmental impacts but faces challenges from climate change. Mitigation banks conserve and restore habitats to generate credits that can be sold to developers to offset adverse impacts from projects. However, climate change may reduce the long-term success of mitigation banks through impacts like drought, sea level rise, and shifts in species distributions. Adaptive solutions are needed, such as allowing habitat types and easement locations to change over time in response to climate impacts. Legal and regulatory frameworks for mitigation banks will need revisions to incorporate climate adaptation strategies.

The document discusses the concepts of tourism and the tourism industry. It defines tourism as traveling for pleasure and relaxation. It defines the tourism industry as involving services for tourists like information, accommodations, travel arrangements, and advertising. It notes the tourism industry has tangible elements like transportation, food/beverages, tours, souvenirs, and accommodations. It also has intangible elements like education, culture, adventure, and escape/relaxation. It discusses business tourism as a subset of regular tourism involving work travel. It also discusses convention tourism as gatherings to discuss common interests. Finally, it provides an example package for a Dumaguete city tour in the Philippines.
Libraries are collections of books, media, and other materials that are organized and maintained to be used by patrons. They are housed in buildings or facilities and staffed by librarians trained to help users find information. Libraries serve cultural, educational, and recreational purposes by preserving knowledge and materials for current and future generations to access and use. While the internet provides access to information, libraries still play an important role in organizing, preserving, and providing access to information in a centralized physical location. School libraries in particular aim to support students and teachers by making materials available to support education.
There are two main types of libraries: school libraries which serve students and public libraries which are open to the general public. A book mobile is a type of library that takes books to people who live far from libraries. School libraries are typically located in the parish capitals or major towns. A library is a place where people can go to read books and access other materials.
The library welcomes visitors and provides information about upcoming events, including a book fair during parent-teacher meetings and a visit from author John Green. QR codes throughout the library allow users to access additional digital content. The librarian's roles include teaching research skills, purchasing books, assisting teachers and students, and promoting reading.
The presentation by Erin and Deborah to the University of Canterbury's Gradfest 2010. Yellow slides are attendee's feedback (and italics are our responses to questions).
Libraries serve several important purposes according to experts. They act as cultural storehouses that preserve the best of human thought and ideas. Libraries also organize and provide access to information, playing a crucial role in preserving knowledge for future generations. While digital formats are increasing access, physical books still have educational value for deep, meditative reading that some argue is nearly impossible on screens. There remains no proven method for long-term digital preservation comparable to the endurance of printed materials. As such, libraries should continue maintaining traditional collections of books and materials in addition to digital resources.
As a student at the University of York, you have access to amazing resources. View this presentation to find out about our 24hr opening, your free subscription to Office 365, the amazing Google Apps for Eduction, our Laptop Loans, 1200 study spaces in the library, and a whole lot of other stuff too.

Mayor Nutter's budget plan proposes closing 11 public libraries in Philadelphia due to lack of funding and poor utilization. This will limit access to educational and literary resources for many residents. While some argue the internet and other libraries can replace them, others point out that not everyone has access to these alternatives. The document proposes finding alternative funding sources, such as grants, to keep the libraries open and ensure educational access for all residents.
The document is a Q&A about the Awful Library Books blog that highlights poorly aged books in library collections. It discusses how the blog started by finding amusing books in their own library. It shares some of their favorite amusing posts that showcase outdated, bizarre, or inappropriate titles. It also notes that while the blog aims to entertain, it has a serious message about continually evaluating and updating library collections.
Top Ten Reasons Libraries Are Still Importantbradspry
Libraries continue to be important for several key reasons: they bring together publishers, vendors, writers and readers; champion freedom of thought; and serve as repositories of knowledge by collecting and organizing information. Additionally, libraries maintain cultural heritage and are places for both learning and relaxation.
This document outlines plans for a new online library community called the UM Readr Circl. It will operate through a Facebook page and allow users to recommend books, lend and borrow physical books through a network of volunteer librarians, contribute books to the collection, and discuss books at in-person meetups. Future goals include expanding participation beyond medical students, adding an e-book collection, hosting regular discussion meetups, coordinating book purchases and donations to charities. Volunteers are needed to administer the page, facilitate book loans, and contribute books to the collection.
The document discusses Joseph Coelho's library marathon, where he visited libraries in every UK authority area to encourage people to use libraries and borrow books regularly. Some key points made include that libraries serve many community purposes beyond just books, such as being craft workshops, storytelling spaces, and places for activities. Coelho wanted the marathon to highlight the important role libraries play in communities and that they are more than just places to store books. He encountered many unique libraries of different sizes and met librarians who discussed books that changed their lives.
Hialeah Gardens High School Library Media Centermediaminx
This document provides an orientation for students on the Hialeah Gardens High School library media center. It introduces Ms. Anabel Parra as the media specialist and describes the various sections of the library including fiction, non-fiction, biographies, reference, periodicals, and computers. It outlines the goals of familiarizing students with the layout and resources. It also reviews circulation policies, hours of operation, and electronic resources available.
This document provides dos and don'ts for student behavior in the library. It indicates that students should not climb on shelves or rails, eat or drink, shout, use the library as a playground, hide books, or borrow reference books. It outlines positive behaviors like reading, doing homework, finding information, talking quietly, asking for help, and borrowing books within limits. Students and parents can both borrow books for a set period of time. Finally, it reminds students to walk quietly, speak softly, finish food outside, be respectful, treat books carefully, and return books on time.
Around the world twice on a library degreePhil Bradley
This document discusses the power and importance of librarians and libraries. It argues that libraries are about more than just books - they are about reading, information, knowledge, and power. Librarians play a powerful role by organizing and providing access to information. The document also speculates about what libraries and information may look like decades in the future with emerging technologies and less reliance on physical materials like books and newspapers. It encourages librarians to think about building their reputation and role for the future.
This document contains frequently asked questions about the school library.
It answers questions about borrowing books from the library without needing a pass, how many books can be borrowed at once, how long books can be kept, what happens if books are lost or overdue, whether students will receive a library grade, and if students can recommend books for the library to purchase.
The document emphasizes that students should respect the staff and materials in the library, follow all school rules, and only use computers for academic purposes. It encourages students to read often and let the librarian know if they have any other questions.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

The simplified electron and muon model, Oscillating Spacetime: The Foundation...RitikBhardwaj56
Discover the Simplified Electron and Muon Model: A New Wave-Based Approach to Understanding Particles delves into a groundbreaking theory that presents electrons and muons as rotating soliton waves within oscillating spacetime. Geared towards students, researchers, and science buffs, this book breaks down complex ideas into simple explanations. It covers topics such as electron waves, temporal dynamics, and the implications of this model on particle physics. With clear illustrations and easy-to-follow explanations, readers will gain a new outlook on the universe's fundamental nature.
Stereotype –a preconceived and oversimplified idea of characteristics which typify a person or situation. Hi, I’m David I’ve worked in construction, run nightclubs, worked as a bouncer and have 2 black belts. I’m Heidi. I’m 22 play in a band, have 3 tattoos and 2 dogs. When most people meet me they think I work as a barista, bartender or sales associate. First impressions of me are that I’m in a profession similar to my previous jobs..However.We’re librarians. Tonight, we’re going to talk to you about some misconceptions people have regarding our profession. When most people find out what I do, the response is “I love books. I wish I could read all day”. It makes me want to pull my hair out.
No longer are we sitting in some dark room cataloging books. We work with people. We’re making suggestions about what to read, watch and listen to; teaching your children to read; writing columns for the newspaper; meeting with community leaders.
From your childhood memories, real or just from cultural suggestion, is this what you think a librarian should look like? She has on sensible shoes, maybe a pleated skirt, drinks tea in the afternoon and has several cats.
Some of us actually do fit the stereotype, and we’re proud of it!All of these people all work a block from here at CADL’s dowtown Lansing location.
Say nothing.Dave: Shh!
In fact, our children’s section is always full of life, we’ve got music concerts & movie screenings, videogaming and so many other activities.
My days are spentstudiously filing, stamping books, searching tomes for the GDP of Uzbekistan and staring into the distance pondering Pre-Darwinian conceptions of heredity in the British novel…
On any given day, I could file a police report, help someone land a job, call the paramedics, connect someone with GED resources, and at the end of the day, I feel more fulfilled than I have ever felt in my life.
When you meet a librarian do you expect them to know Babe Ruth struck out 1330 times, that our founding fathers slept sitting up, as was the fashion of the day, that the largest flower in the world is the Raffelesia which weighs up to 15 lbs and stinks of rotting meat.
Dave here has worked as a reference librarian for years. He just knows were to find your answer.. Because he has a Master’s degree in Information Science.
You have means of your own. You have a decent job, get your news online, know where to find health and tax information, and can buy a paperback for vacation. What do you need the library for?
Even if you don’t need the library, your community does. We are the one place where knowledge and opportunity are available to everyone
Being under 40 without kids, there’s nothing for me at the library. I’m not going to Tuesday morning story time. I don’t want to meet Clifford, and if you expect me to go to Wii gaming for seniors, you’re out of your bleeding mind.
I’m 22, I don’t have any kids that I know of, and there is so much for me to do at the library. We’ve got our Brew Pub Book Club at the MBC, Graphic novel discussion group at Gone Wired, and The Time Traveler’s Wife author is coming in a few weeks.
There’s also a lot of stuff at the library that you would never expect to be able to check out. It’s all free. Audiobook and eBook downloads, access to insane music boxed sets through the Michigan eLibrary, Blu-rays and DVDs.
My job at the library is actually to manage our social media and online content. I post items on Facebook, YouTube & Flickr; I Tweet, check in a Foursquare and blog. I never in a million years thought that I’d be so lucky as to Tweet for a LIBRARY for a living.
Now, I do have one favor to ask of you all tonight. We’re about to break the 1000 fan mark on Facebook, but more importantly, we’re trying to get more Facebook fans than the Ann Arbor District Library. With all of your help tonight, I think we can do it. Could you guys help me out?
Print is dead. Everything is on the Internet. Why would you ask a librarian anything when you have Google? This is from a Google image search. What else will you ever need to know about cats and dogs?
We ARE the original search engine.Even Bing, who accuses Google of Information Overload is hard to use. Librarians are the most thorough. We present you information in an organized way, and no search engine can offer you that.
Stereotypes take all shapes and forms. Some border on fantasy. Reality is often much harder and nuanced than a simple web search.Hopefully we’ve successfully let our hair down and taken you behind the glasses today, and shown you what our world is really like.
