This document summarizes a presentation about the relationship between intrinsic motivation and reading comprehension performance for high- and low-ability readers. It provides background on how reading motivation impacts reading outcomes. The study aimed to investigate how cognitive and motivational factors predict reading skills and whether intrinsic reading motivation explains more variance in performance for low-ability readers. It involved surveying top and bottom scoring English majors using a questionnaire measuring intrinsic reading motivation. Statistical analyses like t-tests and hierarchical regression were used to analyze the data and address the research questions.
