2. The human skeleton:
- There are three main function of your skeleton:
1. It supports your body
2. Helps it move;
3. It protects some of the soft organs inside you.

- By looking at our skeleton name the bones that protect the
following organs:
- Brain → Cranium
- Heart → Ribs and the sternumheart
- Lungs →Ribs and the sternumheart

6. Joints:
- A joint is a place where two bones meet;
- There are two main types of joints in our body:
1. Fixed joints;
2. Movable joints;
- Look at the scull and answer the following
questions:
1. Does scull have both movable and fixed joints?
2. What is the name of movable joint in your scull?
- Ball and socket joint → you can make a full circle
with that joint;
- Hinge joint → you can only move in one
direction

- State one place in your body where you have a fixed
joint? Why is it useful to have a fix joint in this place?
- Name the bones that form the ball- and -socket joint
in your shoulder?
- Name the Bones that form the hinge joint at your

8. Structure of a moveable joint:
- To reduce friction between two bones:
1. The end of the bones are covered with a very
smooth, slippery material called cartilage;
2. A thick, slippery fluid called synovial fluid fills the
spaces between the two bones;
