The site I have chosen for my reflection is the public health depa.docxarnoldmeredith47041
The site I have chosen for my reflection is the public health department. I will be describing the services provided, the population served, common disease processes, medication administration guidelines, funding, and ethical dilemmas faced. Prior to my visit to the health department, I believed that it only served as a place for immunizations or a place for those without insurance or minimal insurance to get healthcare. These are some of the services provided however, there are many more. They do not strictly serve one specific population. The health department is for the general population in the area. Anyone of any age from newborn to elderly can come and get care. Unlike my previous thoughts, they also do not strictly provide immunizations. Along with immunizations, they offer programs such as a TB program, refugee program, perinatal care and dental. Within the TB program, people can be screened and treated for TB. The refugee program allows refugees to get access to health care that they may not have had otherwise. They offer immunizations to the refugees, perinatal care, and much more to ensure they have a smoother transition into their new life. Perinatal care is handled by a separate clinic but it is specific to women’s health. It provides care for a low cost to all women. The dental program is new; however, to me, it seems like a very good, useful program because dental health is of prime importance. Bad dental hygiene can lead to many systemic infections so attacking it head on for the whole population is a very good thing. People at the health department also audit charts of daycares and schools to ensure all children are up to date on their immunizations. If the children are not immunized, the nurse contacts people to ensure children meet the school’s immunization requirements. There are not specific diseases processes seen in the heart department as they treat a wide range of clients with many different diseases. Following what I previously stated the nurse working stated that they often see tuberculosis. They also see some cases of the flu during flu season. Medication administration follows specific guidelines. The orders come from one primary doctor who writes standing orders such as the ones for immunizations. The pediatric population has a certain dose ordered for the flu vaccine that differs from the adult dose. The older adult dose is also stronger compared to a basic flu vaccine. Nurses administer the vaccines. In addition to the doctor giving standing orders, there is also a pharmacist can answer any of the nurse’s questions and review the standing orders. The federal government and the state fund the public health department. They also get some grants from organizations such as the United Way. An ethical dilemma faced during my time at the public health department was the parents who did not want to vaccinate their kids. Many of the parents who did not vaccinate their children were having trouble with the school system .
After receiving a positive response from StopNShopToday, Inc. .docxnettletondevon
After receiving a positive response from StopNShopToday, Inc. management about the recommendations for the
incentives and performance appraisal projects, the HR generalist has been assigned a project that will prove to be
very challenging: assessing the competitiveness of the company benefits package.
The owners of StopNShopToday, Inc. are very concerned about the escalation of health insurance costs. When they
started the business in 1991, benefit costs were much less and employees were happier with what the company
provided. Now, however, the owners regularly hear employee complaints about the growing health insurance
premiums they pay.
In addition, the owners are tired of employees always requesting that they be allowed to take a greater number of
paid personal absence days. Scheduling employee vacations and holidays is difficult because the company's store
locations are open all day and every day, except for Christmas and New Year's day. As a result, the owners want to
compare StopNShopToday, Inc.'s benefits package with other similar companies. They intend to use these facts to
make better decisions and communicate their problems more accurately to employees.
As the HR generalist, you quickly realize that the corporation had never quantified the total costs of benefits. After 1
month of exhaustive review of benefits bills and payroll records, you have summarized the corporate compensation
and benefits costs as seen in the following:
Percent of Total Compensation:
• Total wages and salaries: 50%
• Total benefits costs: 25%
• Paid leave: 5%
• Supplemental leave: 2%
• Insurance: 6%
• Retirement and savings: 2%
• Legally required benefits: 10%
• Other benefits: 0%
With this information, you will now attempt an external benefits comparison. To get benefits data from other
companies, review the following data from the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some of the
most pertinent survey results are in Appendix A.
Click here to view the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics 2005 data.
Click here to view the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics 1986–2001 data.
Prepare a comparison of the compensation and benefits costs that you will deliver to the company's owners. Create
at least 1 chart to visually depict the most relevant data. Address the issues of greatest concern to the owners.
Provide several paragraphs to summarize your findings. Use Appendix A or additional data provided in the U.S.
Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics documents.

Environmental Health for Infants
Environmental Health is the act of preventing disease, injury, and harm to human health.
The environment consists of air, water, and surfaces that infants can come into contact with and cause bodily harm.
The environment consists of air, water and surface contaminants in which infants come in contact with. We need to create a healthy environment for infants.
The Infants Environment
The Environment of an infant includes but is not limited to the following :
Nursery
Daycare/Classroom
Play areas
Bathrooms
etc...
Those previously stated factors can cause, precipitate, or augment a child’s health condition.(ODPHP, ND) These conditions can include:
Asthma
Allergies
Respiratory sickness
Toxic poisoning
The environment consist of nurseries, daycare centers, bath rooms and play areas for the infant. Asthma, allergies, respiratory sickness and poisoning can trigger or cause any of these health conditions
Infants Are More At Risk
The body of an infant is so fragile, it makes them more vulnerable to danger and illnesses.Their skin is thinner than average adult skin which allows particles and toxins to be absorbed.
Because they are so curious, they are more likely to touch and taste things that they may not know are harmful to their bodies.
Infants do not have a fully developed immune system, so environmental substances can easily affect the health of an infant.
Infants are more at risk than adults. The immune system is not fully developed and makes them more vulnerable to danger and illness.
Indoor Air Pollution
Surprisingly there is a greater amount of air pollutants indoors than outdoors. This causes a greater risk of danger for infants because they are not regularly exposed to outdoor filtered air
The presence of dirt, moisture and contaminants grow quickly inside because of the warmth
The environment Indoors are not filtered compared to the air we breathe outside
Infants spend a great deal of time indoors. Surprisingly the air pollutants indoors puts them at a greater risk because of the warmth unfiltered air.
Environmental Factors
Environmental factors are substances that can have an Influence on the health and wellness of infants. These Include:
Dust
Dirt
Fragrances
Chemicals
Mold
Pets/Pests
Infant vulnerabilities to air pollution
Infants breathe in a larger amount of air in relation to each kilogram of their body weight, Making them more vulnerable to the dangers environmental factors may cause.
Because they are so low to the ground, they are more exposed to pollutants and particles that are heavier than air and more dangerous to breathe in (WHO,2018)
Good Indoor Air Quality= Good Health
Good air quality is crucial to the well- being of an infant. Air contaminants include but are ...

Strategic IT Planning Your 3-Step ProcessIntroductionStrateg.docxrjoseph5
Strategic IT Planning: Your 3-Step Process
Introduction
Strategic IT Planning is required to ensure your resources and assets continue providing the results and the support your organization needs.
What is a Strategic Plan?
It is a roadmap to achieving a goal. It may cover your entire department or responsibility or it may focus on a specific issue or element of your role. It can be long and involved or a simply one-page document that provides guidance and steps you need to implement to achieve a goal.
Making it Happen
There are a few things that are important to your success. While it may seem that developing the Strategic Plan is the hardest part, most plans fail because of the implementation. The key is to keep it small and be successful, then build on that success for the next initiative. Don’t bite off too much or try to be too ambitious.
• Take your time and keep it manageable
• Link your plan to your company’s strategy
• Justify your initiative and get buy-in and support
• Don’t re-invent, rebuild
• Go slow, manage change
• Set aside time from your operational responsibilities to make it happen
Without a Strategic Plan, you and your team won’t be effective and you won’t be able to get results, get attention and get ahead.
Why you need an IT Strategy:
Redirect from tasks to opportunities and result
· Switch from fighting fires to preventing fires
· Reduce risk with planning and a longer view
Most Strategic Plans never get written or they fail because they are too involved and complex. Keep them simple and use these three basic steps as your core approach. Ask yourself these questions:
1. Why do you need to do it? What is your goal?
2. What are the things you need to get done to achieve your goal?
3. How can you make those things happen?
By following the 3 steps above and writing them down, you will have the outline of your Strategic IT Plan. Then, you establish the tactical things that will help you implement your plan.
Implementation Plan
Once you have established your strategic plan using the 3-step process, you need to develop your implementation plan. This includes getting approval and resources as well as the steps you need to take to achieve your strategic objective.
1. Set the objective for each step
2. Analyze internal/external factors
3. Develop solutions
4. Identify and eliminate barriers
5. Allocate resources (people, time, money)
6. Develop detailed tasks
7. Implement your plan!

Throughout this course, you have completed components of your Finamarilynnhoare
Throughout this course, you have completed components of your Final Project. Initiating research to address a health issue as well as considering how to design, plan, and implement a health education program to address this health issue are important skills for a health educator. While in practice many of the considerations central to the needs of addressing a health issue in a population will not be so straightforward, your practical application of the concepts as they relate to health education will help prepare you for your current or future role as a health educator.
The Assignment: (5–6 pages)
· Briefly describe the health issue that you selected(An increase in Chlamydia infections among teens in the community). Include statistics and a detailed description of the problem your strategy/methodology will address.
· Explain how you would revise proposed health education strategies/methodologies based on Instructor feedback. Include evidence-based strategies/methodologies that can show the community you will be integrating a program that has been tested and implemented in other areas.
· Include revised implementation considerations and additional perspectives based on the data presented in the case study. Expand upon the statistics from the data provided in the case study to show you are setting up your program to meet the needs of the community.
· Describe how the areas of responsibility for health education practice will influence the strategies/methodologies that you would choose to implement. Include at least 2 areas of responsibility with examples.

There are numerous theories that attempt to explain the development .docxsharondabriggs
There are numerous theories that attempt to explain the development and manifestation of psychological disorders. Some researchers hold that certain disorders result from learned behaviors (behavioral theory), while other researchers believe that there is a genetic or biological basis to psychological disorders (medical model), while still others hold that psychological disorders stem from unresolved unconscious conflict (psychoanalytic theory). How would each of these theoretical viewpoints explain anxiety disorders? Does one explain the development and manifestation of anxiety disorders better than the others?
No set number of pages or words. Just need to answer thoroughly and follow up with references.

There are multifaceted ethical issues relating to international inve.docxsharondabriggs
There are multifaceted ethical issues relating to international investments. One aspect relates to human rights. Most Latin American governments have constitutions that mandate health care as a human right, yet some of these countries provide poor health care for the majority of their population.
During the 1980s, the general populace of these countries deteriorated, even though several Latin American countries developed strategies to reposition medical personnel and services to rural areas. Throughout this time, many international donors provided assistance; however they did so with imposed conditions. An example of this constrained assistance was the World Bank, which imposed restrictions that included privatization of health care, as well as required limitations on universal access.
Did the World Bank and other international donors act responsibly and ethically in constraining their humanitarian assistance? Who has the responsibility for the health care of the Latin American people? Is it a reasonable and socially responsible practice to offer international assistance in exchange for an opportunity to shape a country's political and/or social system? Why or why not?

TCO 5. There has been a bumper crop of politicians who have been revealed to be less than upstanding citizens. John Edwards, a former senator who was in the running for the 2008 presidential nomination, and who said family values were at his core, was revealed to have had an affair with a campaign worker, at the same time his wife was battling cancer. Similarly, New York governor Eliot Spitzer, a married, moralizing crusader for laws against sexual tourism, was caught in an escort service "sting", and forced to resign. These are only two of several recent examples of politicians who have celebrity status, and flaunted the social norms of decency.
Apply the course concepts of the
dark side of self-esteem
and
moral hypocrisy
to this type of behavior. What do you conclude about people who behave in such a way? Hint: Explicitly use each concept by name and also give a one sentence definition of it before explaining how the concepts apply to these people.

TCO 6. The Beltway sniper attacks in the Washington D.C. area, in 2002, completely transfixed American consciousness for the three weeks in October, when a pair of armed killers roamed through the Capital region, ambushing and killing 10 people, and wounding three others. As time progressed and law enforcement officials were having little luck in solving the case, tensions and apprehensiveness spread far beyond the area where the killings were concentrated. Even though there was never any hard evidence that the killers were headed in their direction, the citizens of towns and cities a hundred miles away were terrorized by the notion that the killers were about to show up in their communities.
Discuss this with respect to the
effects of suggestibility

TCO's 4 and 12. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Cuban Taekwondo athlete Angel Matos fell to the mat, after being hit by his opponent. He became incensed at the referee, who disqualified him for exceeding the one-minute time-out allowed for an injury. Matos angrily disputed the call, physically pushing a judge and then pushing and kicking the referee in the face. He spat on the mat and was escorted out by officials. The World Taekwondo Federation immediately banned Matos for life, and the IOC took away his bronze medal.

Discuss this with respect to the
effects of suggestibility
that Myers writes about in Chapter 6. Be specific as to what aspects of suggestibility apply to the case.

The World Taekwondo Federation immediately banned Matos for life, and the IOC took away his bronze medal.

and/or lectures (I only count once), but it is not required.
You MUST use 2 primary documents as part of your 6 sources. You may of course use more than 6 sources. You must quote each of your sources at least once in your paper, using it to support your analytical writing and citing your sources appropriately according to a writing style guide, either parenthetically or footnoted.
A properly formatted Works Cited or Bibliography must also be included. Remember, this is a research paper based on a theme I have provided so you must address that theme throughout the paper. This paper is worth 80 points and is due SATURDAY 5/9/2015 before 11:59 pm. Remember, I DO NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK so you have to turn it in on time to earn credit. I have also attached a sample Themed Research paper as an example of a well done paper.

Summer 2001
Almost every intellectual claims to have the welfare of humanity, and particularly the
welfare of the poor, at heart: but since no mass murder takes place without its
perpetrators alleging that they are acting for the good of mankind, philanthropic
sentiment can plainly take a multiplicity of forms.
Two great European writers of the nineteenth century, Ivan Turgenev and Karl Marx,
illustrate this diversity with vivid clarity. Both were born in 1818 and died in 1883, and
their lives paralleled each other almost preternaturally in many other respects as well.
They nevertheless came to view human life and suffering in very different, indeed
irreconcilable, ways—through different ends of the telescope, as it were. Turgenev saw
human beings as individuals always endowed with consciousness, character, feelings,
and moral strengths and weaknesses; Marx saw them always as snowflakes in an
avalanche, as instances of general forces, as not yet fully human because utterly
conditioned by their circumstances. Where Turgenev saw men, Marx saw classes of men;
where Turgenev saw people, Marx saw the People. These two ways of looking at the
world persist into our own time and profoundly affect, for better or for worse, the
solutions we propose to our social problems.
The resemblances between the careers of these men begin with their attendance at Berlin
University at overlapping times, where both were deeply affected—even intoxicated—by
the prevailing Hegelianism. As a result, both considered careers as university teachers of
philosophy, but neither ever held a university post. They had many acquaintances in
http://www.city-journal.org/index.html
common in Berlin, including Mikhail Bakunin, the Russian aristocrat who later became a
revolutionary anarchist, the philosopher Bruno Bauer, and the radical poet Georg
Herwegh. They shared a carelessness with money, perhaps because they were both born
into easy circumstances and therefore assumed that money would never be a problem.
Both started their writing careers as romantic poets, though more of Turgenev’s poetry
than Marx’s was published.
Their literary influences and tastes were similar. Each read widely in the Greek and Latin
classics; each could quote Shakespeare in the original. Both learned Spanish in order to
read Calderón. (Turgenev, of course, also learned it to speak the native language of the
great, but unsatisfactory, love of his life, the famous prima donna Pauline Viardot.) The
two men were in Brussels at the outbreak of the 1848 revolution against the July
monarch.

theme throughout this course has been that human and social services.docxsharondabriggs
theme throughout this course has been that human and social services professionals constantly apply theories and processes to address issues and challenges. As a social change agent, leader, and advocate, you should be able to apply relevant theories and processes to implement and support change on a local and global scale. As always, codes of ethics should provide guidance as you attempt to bring about change. As the final step in the development of your strategic plan, you will develop an action plan for each year of the strategic plan. For example, your plan might start off with strategic goals at the local level with plans to take these goals national or international in following years of the strategic plan.
To prepare:
Review the feedback from your Instructor regarding the components of your strategic plan in Weeks 3, 4, and 6–8.
You should make any changes based on the feedback you received. You will include these elements as a whole this week for your final strategic plan.
Finally this week, consider what actions you will take each year of the strategic plan.
The Assignment (15–22 pages):

The
elaboration likelihood model
of persuasion echoes the
heuristic-systematic model
of attitude processing by offering two paths to attitude change/formation. The
central route
of processing requires humans to use active and deliberate thought, whereas the
peripheral route
of processing occurs through nondeliberate processing not limited to, but inclusive of, heuristics. A central tenet of this model is that humans are motivated to hold correct attitudes and, as a result, there can be a number of factors that influence which processing route a person might take.
For this Discussion, view the media titled

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
