Overview: There are a number of technologies that may be deployed that all provide the ability for devices to "discover" one another, although over different distances ranging from centimeters (Near Field Communications), to meters (Bluetooth), to 10s of meters (Wi-Fi). They also all provide the ability for the devices to communicate directly with one another without a centralized network. Some of these use direct communication as their primary mode of communication e.g. NFC or RFID. Others are more traditional networks which provide direct communication ability as an adjunct to their primary network functions e.g. LTE-Direct or Wi-Fi Direct. Most of the short-term drivers for proximity-based services will be mobile advertising and social networking, especially friend-finder services or dating services, and gaming. In the longer term, other applications will come into play within the scope of the so called Internet of Things. The challenge and opportunity for network operators will be to develop new user scenarios and even new business models to generate revenues from these services. This research uncovers opportunities that will be both beneficial and disruptive to the existing ecosystem and value chain. This research is must reading for any company that is considering offerings within proximity and direct communications and any company that wants to stay ahead of the crowd in terms of preparation for these disruptive technologies. ABSTRACT: Globally, there is a burning desire for a communication system that provides high quality, high capacity and
high speed information exchange and we need to develop an extremely spectrum-efficient transmission technology for the
same. This paper describes a realistic capacity and BER comparison of a robust and secured multiple access schemes and
develops a wireless embedded system at 60 GHz Millimeter-Wave using WiMAX waveform. The system is tested at the
laboratory with multimedia transmission and reception but yet to be tested after mounting on the vehicles. Technical
expertise are developed towards Simulink programming, methods of poring to VSG, IF and millimeter wave hardware, RTSA
use, Data Acquisition and DSP. With proper deployment of this 60 GHz system on vehicles, the existing commercial
products for 802.11P will be required to be replaced or updated soon. Simulation and implementation of the results will
elucidate that a significant amelioration in the spectral efficiency parameter can be achieved using the proposed WiMAX at
60GHz which provides both frequency diversity and spectral efficiency to yield a powerful and affordable solution for superhigh speed/4G transmission and ever-increasing requirement of high throughput in wideband multimedia communications
and ITS in vehicular communication.

Whitepaper - Software Defined Networking for the Telco Industryaap3 IT Recruitment
is SDN (Software Defined Networking) the next big thing in Network Security, or another headache and potential skills gap for the next generation of business networks?
Two industry trends are converging - 802.11ac and the need for personalizing user’s mobile experiences to deliver anytime, anywhere access without wreaking havoc on network operations and cost controls. This paper discuss two approaches for efficient WLAN design. Both let you integrate 802.11ac into your WLAN and help lay the foundation for future, high-speed technologies.
Every 25 years or so, telecom networks get totally re-designed. The last big re-build came with the internet in the early 1990s. Now “IP networking” technology is giving way to another technology cycle known as “software defined networking”. SDN is a new architecture for telecom networks in which the emphasis shifts from hardware to software. It will be hugely disruptive because it fundamentally changes who controls the telecom network. In the report we predict some of the winners and losers.

The network extended not just internationally but also throughout a broad
variety of application areas in this age, with healthcare being one of the most
well-known and vital industries. Improvements in healthcare are possible if
we start using the popular internet of things (IoT) technology as a key
instead of focusing on other disciplines. Wireless body area network
(WBAN) is a field in which we communicate with a network of human
people and medical equipment that may be used in conjunction with internet
of things technology to perform any function. Additional features for
software defined networks will be added in the future. In the event of a
critical crisis, the suggested suggestions will be to take care of the patient's
life. Because the fitted equipment keeps a lot better eye on the patient than
previously advised methods. This study combines WBAN, IoT, and software
defined network (SDN) to make sense in the healthcare field.
This work is based on a translation of my MBA monograph whose certification was issued in April 30th, 2010, by FIPE (Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas). Some recent information was added to this paper while other information was removed from the original MBA monograph.
Brazil launched in 2010, its National Broadband Plan. The aim is to grow broadband at home from 12 million to 40 million by the end of 2014. This means to provide broadband coverage to 72% of total households of the country.
Government’s expectation is to reduce the broadband cost from around 5% average household income to around 0.2% for the most popular plan (speed up to 512 kbps and download limitation) and to around 0.45% for the plan with speed between 512 kbps and 784 kbps.
The different ways to access the internet are changing the people’s behavior. It can be in the business environment , at home or at any other place.
Statistics show that the number of internet users in Brazil increased at a rate greater than 40% a year between 2000 and 2008 (source: Barômetro Cisco 2009).
As per Ibope Nielsen (Source: Meio & Mensagem, 22/June/2009), the number of internet users reached 62.3 million people in Brazil in the first quarter of 2009. However the number of internet accounts is only 15.05 millions (10.4 million for fixed internet and 4.62 million for wireless broadband internet)
At the same time, Telco’s revenue from circuit switching telephone systems are decreasing due to mobile systems user’s growth and the emergence of VoIP systems.
The need to offer broadband services are introducing great access technological innovations such as VDSL, FTTH, 3G HSPA , WiMAX and LTE.
WiMAX is a wireless broadband access technology for the last mile based on 802.16 standard from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE). WiMAX means Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. This name was introduced by the WiMAX Forum which is an organization with a goal to promote, standardize and define the strategy of WiMAX.
The aim of this work is to capture the most important items that influence the WiMAX business case at 2,5 GHz band and provide insights to minimize risks and uncertainties that occur in the deployment of a WiMAX network. It is shown an example of deployment in São Paulo city, Brazil, containing numbers of base stations, subscribers, payback period and internal rate of return.
The study begins with the analysis of the micro-environment providing a summary containing subscribers forecast for the next years.
It is also described the macro-environment analysis. On the technological environment should be noted the delay in the availability of WiMAX-embedded devices while on the 3G side there are more than 800 hundred devices available worldwide. It is also commented about the LTE technology which is being developed by most of the greater telecommunications vendors. On the legal-political environment, it should be noted the delays on the spectrum auctions and the power of cellular operators which influence the rules for WIMAX such as mobility and spectrum usage restriction.
It is also emphasized the importance of the project planning, scope characterization and definition, work breakdown structure definition containing the decomposition of the work to be executed up to the package level, the activities sequencing, costs involved, risks and response plans, schedule and critical path.
"A programmable, flexible and scalable network architecture will be required to support efficiently any Industrial-IoT solution. Vendor-Independent Software Defined Network will play a key role to address low latency, secure and real-time solutions. "
The Abstracted Network for Industrial InternetMeshDynamics
Widespread adoption of TCI/IP protocols over the last two decades appears on the surface to have created a lingua franca for computer networking. And with the emergence of IPv6 removing the addressing restrictions of earlier versions, it would appear that now every device in the world may easily be connected with a common protocol.
But three emerging factors are requiring a fresh look at this worldview. The first is the coming wave of sensors, actuators, and devices making up the Internet of Things (IOT). Although not yet widely recognized, it is beginning to be understood that a majority of these devices will be too small, too cheap, too dumb, and too copious to run the hegemonic IPv6 protocol. Instead, much simpler protocols will predominate (see below), which must somehow be incorporated into the IP networks of Enterprises and the Internet.
At the other end of the scale from these tiny devices are huge Enterprise networks, increasing movingly to the cloud for computing and communication resources. An important requirement of these Enterprises is the capacity to manage, control, and tune their networks using a variety of Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies and protocols. These depend on computing resource at the edges of the network to manage the interactions.
The third element is a conundrum presented by the first two: Enterprises will be struggling with the need to bring vast numbers of simple IOT devices into their networks. Though many of these devices will lack computing and protocol smarts, the requirement will still remain to manage everything via SDN. Along with this, many legacy Machine-to-Machine (M2M) networks (such as those on the factory floor) present the same challenges as the IOT: simple and/or proprietary protocols operating in operational silos today that Enterprises desire to manage and tune with SDN techniques.
Wireless Infrastructure: Market Shares, Strategies, and Forecasts, Worldwide,...ReportLinker.com
WinterGreen Research announces that it has published a new study Wireless Infrastructure: Market Shares, Strategy, and Forecasts, Worldwide, 2013 to 2019. Next generation mission critical systems are leveraging new technology. The 2013 study has 554 pages, 245 tables and figures. Worldwide Wireless Infrastructure markets are poised to achieve significant growth as Building out core networks and backhaul for smart phones.A smart phone is not very smart if the infrastructure can't support its applications. In response to the high growth smart phone markets, wireless infrastructure promises to grow dramatically in the near term.. Wireless Infrastructure technologies include WiMax, LTE, 4G and HSPA. These technologies are driving much higher capacity from the base station back to the fiber core. Fiber core is putting extreme pressure on provider's infrastructure and backhaul networks.WinterGreen Research predicts that the dramatic growth of wireless infrastructure is based on the growth of smart phones to a one trillion market by 2019, serving an installed base of 8.5 billion, many people having more than one smart phone. Wireless infrastructure markets at $58 billion in 2012 will be $163 billion by 2019, new markets evolved because of the value that apps provide to smart phones, mobile devices, tablets, and the Internet of things.According to Susan Eustis, lead author of the study, 'Wireless Infrastructure is being installed to upgrade core networks and upgrade backhaul and base stations to make systems more modern. Infrastructure for the Internet and for smart mobile devices creates demand for more sophisticated web development and web applications that in turn depend on more sophisticated infrastructure. Everything is going mobile. This evolution is driven by mobile smart phones and tablets that provide universal connectivity. Modern systems represent a significant aspect of Internet market evolution.'The proportions of wireless infrastructure market industry segments are expected to remain much as they are, with the small cells and femtocells achieving strong growth on the access side, the core infrastructure must be upgraded to support the added backhaul backbone infrastructure. Wireless apps are expected to achieve $37 trillion revenue by 2019. This unbelievable growth occurs as the Internet is expanded to implement the interconnection of everything.Digital devices proliferate, machine to machine capabilities vastly expand instrumentation. The digital devices become the engine of a world economy, with apps collecting pennies a day for millions of apps from 8.5 billion people with smart phones by 2019.

The biomass market suffered during the economic downturn in the face of low coal prices, logistic barriers and supply issues. 2010 saw more movement in the sector as coal prices are beginning to rise once again making co-firing coal plants with biomass more attractive. Furthermore, the biomass component of a coal-fired plant may be eligible for feed-in tariff or count towards renewable portfolio standards. Most of these plants rely on wood pellets, often transported at great distance, rather than wood chips or other less dense biomass sources. In the wood pellets market, supplies from the US and Canada are cheaper than their European counterparts and thus North America is a major suppli- ers for European biomass plants. CIS countries, Russia, Australia and South Africa have entered as significant suppliers, which if they could ramp up supply, could be serious competitors to the US and Canada. Or in the case of Russia, resolve supply delay issues, could be one of the biggest players in the market.

The Future of Direct Communications Technologies and
Proximity-based Applications and Services
Published on March 2013
Report Summary
Overview:
There are a number of technologies that may be deployed that all provide the ability for devices to "discover" one another, although
over different distances ranging from centimeters (Near Field Communications), to meters (Bluetooth), to 10s of meters (Wi-Fi). They
also all provide the ability for the devices to communicate directly with one another without a centralized network. Some of these use
direct communication as their primary mode of communication e.g. NFC or RFID. Others are more traditional networks which provide
direct communication ability as an adjunct to their primary network functions e.g. LTE-Direct or Wi-Fi Direct.
Most of the short-term drivers for proximity-based services will be mobile advertising and social networking, especially friend-finder
services or dating services, and gaming. In the longer term, other applications will come into play within the scope of the so called
Internet of Things.
The challenge and opportunity for network operators will be to develop new user scenarios and even new business models to
generate revenues from these services. This research uncovers opportunities that will be both beneficial and disruptive to the existing
ecosystem and value chain. This research is must reading for any company that is considering offerings within proximity and direct
communications and any company that wants to stay ahead of the crowd in terms of preparation for these disruptive technologies.
