Marcos, Sarah, Joan and Paula were classmates who got lost in the mountains during a school trip. They built a raft and discovered a palace guarded by security guards. To enter, they had to answer a riddle about the king's name which starts and ends with T and I. Inside the palace they saw famous paintings but then heard a strange noise. The king granted them a wish and they chose to return to their campsite, realizing their adventure had all been a dream.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

MARUTI SUZUKI- A Successful Joint Venture in India.pptx
The four children and the long trip
1.
2. Marcos was a 13 years old boy who lived in a small town near
Valencia. He had short curly brown hair and green eyes. He loved
adventures. His best friend was Sarah.
Sarah was a 12 years old girl who lived in Valencia near Marcos’s
house. She had long wavy blond hair and blue eyes. She was
medium height. She liked dancing.
Joan was a 12 years old boy who lived in Castello. He had short
straight brown hair and green eyes. He was short. He liked
swimming.
3. Paula was a 14 years old girl who lived in Albalat. She had long
straight red hair and black eyes. She was medium height. She
loved playing football.
Last summer, Sarah and Marcos went to the end of the course trip
with their classmates. They went to Sot de Xera by bus. They
arrived at half past ten.
4. Paula and Joan studied in a different school but they travelled by
train with their classmates to Sot de Xera, too. They arrived at the
same time than the children from the other school.
When they arrived. the activity leader started to distibute the
bedrooms and the end Sarah and Marcos didn’t have a bedroom
and Paula and Joan neither so finally they decided to sleep
together.
The first activity of the day was canoeing in the river. The second
activity was climbing. And the third activity was kiking in the
mountain. They liked everything they saw a lot of.
They saw plants, caves, and a squirel!!!.They were very surprised
when they saw the squirrel and they followed it but when they
realized they couldn’t see their classmates. Marcos, Sarah, Joan
and Paula were very nervous, they were lost in the mountain only
with the company of a squirrel!!!
5. They started to look for their mates but they couldn´t find them.
When the night arrived, they ate some edible plants and Joan´s
sweets and they build a small house with wood. They were very
tired and they slept until eight o´clock, because a strange animal
made noises.
They looked for something to eat, but they didn´t find any food or
any edible plants, but they found a big river!!
Quickly they started to drink.
They made a wood boat and they took two small pieces of wood to
row. Minutes later…..PUMMMMMM!!! They crashed with a big
island. They looked to the right and they saw a big palace.
6. They walked to the palace and when they arrived in front of the
door, there were two security guards that saw the children. The tall
one asked them:
– What are you doing here?
– You can´t go inside- said the shortest security guard.
– Why?- asked Sarah very confused.
– Because you don´t have permission of the king.
– And how can we get his permission?
– You have to answer a riddle correctly.
– Ok - said the children at the same time.
– What is the king´s name?- asked one of the security guards.
– I don´t know- answered Joan very angry.
– Ok, we give you a clue. The clue is….The name of the king
starts with the letter T and finishes with the letter I. What´s his
name?
– Toni- answered Marcos very relaxed.
– Yes, Toni is the name, you can go inside-Said the tall guard .
When they went inside they were very surprised.
– Look, this is the Mona Lisa of Leonardo da Vinci.
– And this is the hand of Jaume I.
– Oh my god! and this is the make up of Trump.
7. When they were looking at the paintings they heard a very strange
noise.
– STOP!!! Come to me, inmediatly!!!. What are your names?
The children told their names and their story. The king was very
surprised.
– I give you only one wish, What is your wish?
– Sweets- said Joan very happy.
– Nooooo!!!- said Paula, Sarah and Marcos at the same time.
– Our wish is to come back to the campsite in Sot de Xera.
– Ok, clap your hands, move your arms and say ''HELLO''
– Ok,
They did everything and suddenly they woke up and they
realised that everything has been a dream, only a dream.
