Everland aims to be a utopian society based on democratic principles with equality, peace, happiness, and liberty as its core values. It will have a two-branch government elected by universal suffrage for those over 18. Laws will prohibit killing, stealing, littering, and drugs. The economy uses currency and taxes wealthier citizens to help the poor. Schools teach ethics, art, music, and being green. Marriage is unrestricted and there are state-recognized holidays. Citizens are free to work and live as they choose.

This talk begins a programme to explore the true meaning of choice and control and an exploration of how different communities can work together to create better community solutions.
A presentation given by Nat Kendall-Taylor of the Frameworks Institute at JRF's Talking about Poverty event, which took place in London on the 30th January 2018. The presentation discusses how we can reframe the conversation on Poverty.
Basic Idea: We believe everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they paid for it. What we do is train rehabilitated criminals to be successful mentors and money raisers for schools. What they do is interview students while being recorded and offer trained mentorship. We then bring all of their recorded stories back to the office each day and chose a story to publish in our magazines. After that we get on the phones and sell cover placement and advertisement to politicians and business leaders while showing them shaking hands with our younger generation students. The P.R. is nonprofit and tax deductible. There is a National and Community magazine to choose from. All of the money goes to help struggling students. We even do personal charities.

Student should be able to understand the rich diversity of cultures in a multicultural society such as South Africa and throughout the world.
Student should be able to apply the sociocultural knowledge in the different health care settings.
Democracies remain healthy based on their citizens following certain core principles based around individual responsibility. However, when one looks at democracies around the world, they almost all seem to be going further and further into debt, and ever increasing numbers of citizens are finding it hard to enjoy the immense benefits that democracy brings. In this lecture we look at the decline of democracies. We also look at how the growing acceptance of ideas espoused by atheistic socialism are undermining democratic states - seeking to bring in an age where democracies always have a left leaning bias - even if it leads to poor outcomes for democracy in general.
As Steve Jobs once said ” Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation.
