The Bondjo: Misunderstood
I chose the Bondjo as my image because it is such a simple shape, but it is very detailed. The Bondjo is a side–blown trumpet. The trumpet is made out
of wood and faceted elephant tusk. To make a piece of wood and an elephant tusk sound so beautiful it takes very complex and precise carvings as
seen on the image. Not only is the side–blown trumpet carved so precisely, but also it is painted. The flanged wood extension on the trumpet is
painted black and white pinstripes. The Bondjo was produced for leaders to use in battle, so such important people did not deserve a bland, unpainted
trumpet. The trumpet is painted with pin stripes because Ekonda leaders wore pin stripe headpieces. I believe the pin stripe paint was to show wealth

Key to Success in Life
"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students" – Solomon Ortiz
Do you agree with this quotation? Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or their child success in their life. It's true but not
totally true. Education is one part of successful. It's not the whole thing to make us success.
Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University
Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and
they will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to study in top three private universities in
Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will
have greater future than student who graduate from public university.
Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment you will. However, it has someone who doesn't
have a chance to study in university because they are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive.
As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? Because some of achievement people don't graduate from
private university and some of them have the highest education level

Role Of The Bhumibol Era
Symbolic and Political Leadership Surrounding the Bhumibol Era Literature Review Over the course of Thailand's history, the monarchy has
faced many challenges and has changed and adapted to many situations to retain their place in Thai society. During the reign of the late King
Bhumibol, the Thai people's devotion to the monarchy was revitalized and the King reinserted himself into the politics of the country. Now, it
remains to be seen as to how well his son, Maha Vajiralongkorn will integrate into his new role as King and if he will continue his father's devotion
to bettering the country and serving his people. This project will be examining how the political and symbolic roles of the monarchy changed over
the exceptionally long reign of King Bhumibol as well as what may be expected from his newly coronated son. LГЁse majestГ© laws are not
something we have in the United States. However, these laws are very prominent in Thailand, protecting the monarchy from criticism, ridicule and
even comical satire that could be deemed offensive. Those found guilty of violating these laws often find themselves in prison for years on end, or
banned from ever entering Thailand. These laws apply not only to Thai citizens, but also have been upheld in the case of tourists and others who have
never even set foot in the country but are criticizing from afar. These laws also have been used to ban books and plays that depict the king or the royal
family in an undesirable manner. Due to these

Why Is Siam A Buffer State?
During the 19th century, European world powers colonized all of Southeast Asia, except for one kingdom, Siam. Before the French and the British
arrived, Siam had conquered all its surrounding countries and had control of all of Southeast Asia and the Malay Peninsula. But as the European world
powers started to takeover Southern Asia, the kingdom had started to see a threat to its independence. In the wake of the threat, the Kingdom used
many different methods to keep its independence, such as signing treaties in which they ceded land they had previously conquered, being a physical
buffer state in between the French and the British, who were two major colonial rivals, and undergoing a period in which they adopted many Western
values. As the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This group is called junta, which is defined as a military or political group that controls a country after taking power by force. Since the NCPO has
gained power by force, there are many people who dislike the junta. Because of this, they have begun punishing news companies for speaking out
against them. If a media outlet releases commentaries that are negative towards the junta or the monarchy, they can face intimidation, punishment and
even closure. Despite this, many media companies refused to comply and were temporarily forced off the air. They were then allowed to continue
broadcasting as long as they agreed to remove such commentaries. Not only has the NCPO tried to silence large media companies, they have also been
silencing civilians. There is currently a law in Thailand that bans public assemblies with more than five people. This is to deter protests against the
junta. They also continue to stifle free speech with the Computer–Related Crime Act (CCA). The CCA allows the junta to arrest people for sharing

Cultural Changes In The 18th Century
During the 18th century Siam enjoyed what is sometimes called the golden age, but also had a civil war and more than a couple changes in power.
Many cultural changes happened in Siam at this time as well, with the Ayutthaya period ending after reigning since 1350 and, in the very beginning of
the 18th century becoming isolated and cutting ties with the western world. In addition to the civil war Siam fought many battles with the Burmese
eventually driving them out of Siam in the the 1790's after over almost thirty years of war. Throughout all of these battles the Siamese established a
trade monopoly with the Chinese and Japanese that fueled the economy for years to come. In addition to trading with China many Chinese were hired
as advisors for trade, financial overseers for the empire and as governors for bits of land around the empire. The eighteenth century was an influential
time in Siam both within the country with the Ayutthaya period ending, many changes in government, and outside with multiple invasions fromBurma
and the conquering of Cambodia. From when Siam was founded in 1238 it had always been ruled by a monarchy, with advisors helping the king
and governors taking care of day to day problems as well as paying the king royalties for taxes collected. In 1767 Burma attacked the capital city of
Ayudha leaving Siam in chaos and without a king. Without a king the people united under a general by the name ofTaksin. Taksin had been the chief
general under King

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Flood '
The Flood There was a ear–piercing screech as the Boeing 747's wheels connected with the runway. They had arrived. Abby and her mom, Carol,
were in Thailand, the land of the elephants, on the trip of her life. Abby and her mom had scavenged and saved every last penny to fly halfway
across the world. They hugged as Abby squealed in delight, they would be here for one month to discover the world outside of America. She had
escaped from school for a week! She still couldn't believe that her teacher, Mrs Hildebrand, had allowed her to miss all schoolwork in exchange for an

white canvas domes. They pulled up to their terminal and deboarded the bus. Continuing on through a tunnel marked for Arrivals. Abby couldn't help
but gape at the beautiful statues and carvings surrounding her in this foreign airport. They walked through customs and retrieved the rest of their
luggage from a conveyor belt. Once they had possession of their luggage, they located a man that held a sign with "Carol and Abby Fonelle" written
on it with black lettering. "That's us," said Carol to the man holding the sign. "Maa gap chan" said the man. Carol, Abby's mom, retrieved her

is not portraying the truth to their daily lives. Social media allows the individual to post a picture, video, status, and edit these to make it seem like
their lives are better than others. "Social media allows the user to create their own TV channel and make their lives seem better than they really are,"
(Remo). In addition to portraying a fake live, these posts have negative impacts on the viewers. With 92 percent of those between 18 and 29, and 73
percent of people in their 30's and 40's using social media, this gives each individual the ability to control their image, and people's impression of them.

She provides the example of Scott Schroeder, a chef, who had a hard time selling one item on his menu, and after posting it to Instagram, customers
come in for that exact item because they saw it on a popular account. Remo irritates that social media is destroying real connections between people
and results in self–esteem loss based upon other people's posts.
With the information provided, along with the diction Jessica Remo uses, it clearly demonstrates that she is opposed to social media, and believes that
social media has negatives effects on others and that people only post what they want others to see. It is true, that many people become upset when
viewing other profiles, for an example seeing your friends at a party that you were not invited to. Her viewpoint is clearly identifiable with the usage
of her own real life examples involving her friend, her mom's Facebook friend, and the chef in

In 1958 the ten–storey Garden Wing was built. It featured the city‟s first elevator and was home to the Le Normandie Restaurant. In 1967, fearful

Thailand : History And Culture In The Country Of Thailand
Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country that was never colonized by a European country. In fact, in the Thai language, the name of the country is
Prathet Thai which means "land of the free." The country of Thailand is one that is heavily visited by tourists from all around the world. What makes
so attractive to tourists is that it's a country so rich with history and traditions, one with such original foods that make your mouth water from just the
thought, and it has such a diverse range of music that leaves your ears ringing with the noises of the people. "There are about 35,000 temples in Thailand
." Visiting them requires modest clothing, meaning no shorts or sleeveless shirts (Swattnani, 1). One of the most attractive aspects of the country
Thailand is the amazing history it has, and how well they have preserved it all. Along the lands are beautiful palaces dotting the horizon and
extravagant religious temples. In the capital city of Bangkok, there is a temple that contains a priceless golden statue of a reclining Buddha,
representing the entry of Buddha to Nirvana, and the end of all reincarnations. People visit this temple to receive revelation and to worship Buddha.
The temple of Wat Pho, which contains the reclining Buddha, is one of the hosts of the Celebration of Vesak Day. Vesak day is the day Buddhists all
over the world celebrate the birth, death, and enlightenment of Visakha Bucha, or, Buddha. "In a country that's over 90% Buddhist, this is an incredibly

The Negative Effects Of Social Media
Peter Drucker is best known for being the Father of Modern Management, as well as being the author of several books and articles about innovation,
entrepreneurship and strategies for dealing with the world. Drucker once said, "The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't said"
(Drucker). Social Media has an had enormous effect on the world today. Everyday people are posting cruel comments and inappropriate posts about
others without thinking about the effect it can have on that person. Although these sites provide us with easier ways of connecting with the world, they
also have a negative impact on how people can view themselves. Social media sites such as, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram cause negativity all over
the world today.
Facebook was created on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, a nineteen year old Harvard University student. When creating the site, Zuckerberg
only allowed Harvard students to create an account, but overtime he made it available to other colleges around the world. Social media can affect a
person's life in a negative way, and comes to the point where it begins to hurt other's. When Zuckerberg created the site, he used it to rank girls, not
only at Harvard, but at other Universities as well. When people joined the site, they wanted to be apart of a site where they could post pictures about the
activities they participate in. Facebook uses a thing called, "friends" where people can add other people as a friend, you can either

Argumentative Essay On Social Media
In this age of social media, we are constantly worried about being popular. We are driven by "likes," "comments," and "followers." Not caring what
our peers thought, our middle school selves posted anything and everything. Now, as seniors and having had access to social media for an
abundance of years, we are far more cautious about what we post but not in the way you might imagine. Instagram is a resourceful tool but, if used
incorrectly, could impair your social status. Unlike in middle school, we do not want to post too frequently, too many similar pictures, or too long
of a caption. Those who post everyday get a diminishing amount of likes. The unwritten rules to instagram are simple: once a day, once day a
week, and at least once a month. Occasionally, these rules are allowed to be broken. A couple times a year, posting two days in a row is permitted,
but only in dire circumstances should multiple posts be uploaded in a single day, and now, with multiple photos per post capabilities, the
acceptance for this is even less. Uploading several posts of pictures taken on the same day and at the same event becomes repetitive. Putting those
pictures in the same post will fix this problem. Adding a caption to the picture also help make your posts different. Followers will often skip over a
caption that is too long and disregard a post with no caption at all, but will love a one word to two sentence caption. Finding a special occasion to post
is the first step to

7. What is the "current" (1997) situation in Thailand?
In 1997 the country's exports were no longer booming and the Thai economy entered a unsafe and unpredictable phase. Foreign investors were skeptical
about the current–account deficit and the big loans property developers. Bad debt continued to mount up and the stock market crashed to depths not

Money Makes The World Go Around By Barbara Garson Summary
In the 19th and early 20th century, the world's economies grew interconnected and entangled as trade, capital, investment, migration and technology
thrived. This international integration forms the basis for globalization and arises from exchange and interbreeding of perspectives, ideas and aspects
of culture. This modern economic and global point of view posits that globalization increases trade, raises wages, heightens living standards, and betters
the market discipline. With its roots in free market capitalism, the critics of this perspective declare globalization to be detrimental to the vast majority
of the working class and poor since most of the labor and work goes to the lowest bidder; proper regulation and working conditions are often ... Show

The IMF did provide relief but at the expense of the food subsidies which the Thai rely on to compete for food prices. If the economy of Thailand were
left alone, given their own economic sovereignty rather than launching them in the vicious global market while being compared and linked to the
titanic financial power of the dollar, their quaint agricultural and textile industry could have thrived and met the requirements to maintain their nation.
The deeply rooted free market ideals of globalization forced the Thai baht to be overvalued. The wolf pack like instincts (bred by the greed and profit
seeking nature of global capitalism) of the foreign investors let the baht to be over sold and the price of the currency to be driven down into obscurity.
The global market capital perspective provides an insightful perspective as to why the Thai currency crash was so impactful to not just Bangkok, or
Asia but the entire globe. The interconnectedness of the international economy provides a community for nations but due to the infinite connections
that exist in this paradigm, the problems of one place can be caused by anybody and leave widespread consequences in every modicum of the

Is The Robbery Occurred? Essay
In the beginning of October, reality star Kim Kardashian was held hostage in her Paris hotel room and robbed of most of her jewelry and valuables.
Prior to the horrible incident, she posted many different things on social media that the robbers probably used to their advantage. On Snapchat, she
flashed her multi–million dollar jewelry on the camera, exposed to millions of her followers. Right before the robbery happened, viewers were aware
that she was alone in her hotel room when she posted a video of her congratulating her younger brother through iPhone Facetime. According to CNN,
the police has suggested that Kardashian's prolific social posting about her life and wealth may have attracted the robbers in the multi–million dollar
heist. Even though there are many other possibilities as to why the robbery occurred, it is still a valid example of why you should be more reserved
on what you post on your social media platforms. Since the popularity of having multiple social media accounts has increased, it is crucial that we
are more aware of what we post on social media. Since people are widely using social networks to display a lot of their personal information and give
access to potential bullies, future jobs/colleges, or even potential criminals, precautions and social awareness as well as media moderation should be
constructed so we can take away the harmful stigmas surrounding its use.
Social media usage can lead to harassment and bullying. When you join a social media

The Pros And Cons Of Police Corruption In Thailand
It is generally known that police corruption, the use of police power to acquire personal and organizational benefits, can be easily found in Thailand
just like a disease (Carter, 1990). From the statistics, the corruption especially bribery is committed by almost all police organization; in year 2013, it
is surveyed that the cost of corruption is roughly $8.6 Billion, 10 percent of Thailand overall investment and budget (Arunmas, 2014). Even if the
corruption aggravates the country, some authorized groups of people including the police officers continue to make a benefit from the weakness of the
law without thinking about the nation. For instance, rice–pledging scheme, Thailand policy assisting the farmer with the capital, is corrupted, and ...

The society will be terrible and harmful if there are too many crimes including corruption and police bribing in the country (Heidensohn, 1989).
Due to the terrible society, we will find it difficult to trust somebody since we cannot know that whether they are ethical or not. All we had better
do is avoiding the risk of being exploited by them. What's more, the reliability of the country will decrease as well, and this will affect economy of
the country to be worse. In reality, the reliability of the country is very important because it can be used to measure the quality of the country (Martin

However, unless the policy of bribing concerning the police is progressively reinvented, I am certain that reliability of Thailand will soon decrease
since the problem of corruption including police bribing will be worse and continuously impact tourism and economy. Tourism is one of the most
important kinds of business in Thailand that contribute people to have more income and occupation (Chancharat, 2011). We can say that the number of
unemployed citizens will greatly rise up and economy will be in the crisis if tourism in Thailand does not exist or is inefficiently

Blades, Inc. : The United States Based Roller Blade...
Blades, Inc. is a United States based roller blade company. They are looking to grow via direct foreign investment, and are particularly interested in
expanding into Thailand. Blades, Inc. has an existing agreement with Entertainment Products, a Thai retailer, that will last for another two years. The
agreement states that Blade will sell 180,000 pairs of roller blades annually to Entertainment Products at a fixed price. The price is denominated in Thai
baht, and is substantially discounted from the U.S. price. Thailand's economy has been one of the fastest growing world economies, which allows for
expansive industry growth potential. However, recent events have increased economic uncertainty, and it is difficult to predict future conditions. The
Thai baht, which was originally pegged to the U.S. dollar, is now a free–floating currency, and it had depreciated substantially. Inflation levels have
also been very high recently. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Blades, Inc., Ben Holt, believes that now would be an ideal time to consider direct
foreign investment in Thailand. The uncertain economic conditions would allow for a much lower initial outlay cost. The possibility that the economy
stabilizes would mean a high amount of growth potential. Holt would also prefer considering direct foreign investment in Thailand over the option of
entering the United Kingdom. The forecasts show that the demand in the UK will be similar to the demand in the US, and the growth

The Importance Of A Foreign Country Has Changed My Life
Studying in a foreign country has been something I have desired to do since high school. My family's financial situation has kept our adventures
centralized to Ohio. I have never been presented with an opportunity to travel outside of the United States. I knew going abroad in college was my
best chance to finally experience a new country and a new culture within my financial needs. Yet, I didn't just want to go to abroad for a few weeks, I
wanted to study abroad for an entire semester. I wanted to immerse myself in an unfamiliar culture. To let go of what I know here and observe from
their perspective. Through my program I hope to appreciate the diversity another country has to offer. In spring 2017, I plan to travel to Thailand and
participate in study abroad program through CISabroad. The program runs for an entire semester. I will be taking classes at Mahidol University with
Thai and other international students.
It was more that this program picked me then I picked this program. My field of study at Ohio University is Wildlife and Conservation Biology. As I
looked through programs it was extremely difficult to find a program with classes that would work for my major. This was the only program that
offered a variety of courses specifically related to wildlife and ecology. It also worked out well financially since the program's cost was lower than
average. Though this course might have been my only viable option I am glad it was. The more I learn about Thailand the

Cyber Crimes: If social ethics aren't followed then any acts of carelessness can turn into hideous crimes. For example explicit content might be spread

13. Positivity: It is not always appreciated that you keep posting negative content, particularly about your country or make curt remarks about the
system. Try to make the world a better place and be positive by showing a good side of your country.
14. Real world vs. Cyber world:
Always know when to draw the line between the real world and the cyber world. The life people show on a website may not be their actual lives and
they may not be as famous in real lives as they are in the cyber world.
15. Permissions:
Always ask people for permission before tagging them anywhere publicly or before using their private content for public use. Show a sense of

16. Fake Adverts:
There are many people on the internet who find ways to devise such fake adverts which then lead them to send a virus in your system and make you at

The King Of Thailand's Philosophy Of Sufficient Economy
This paper takes a look at the King of Thailand's philosophy of "Sufficiency Economy" which contains a Buddhist belief that stresses the middle path
as a prime principle for proper conduct by all levels of the population. Its application begins from the level of individuals and families through to
communities and the nation itself in terms of development and administration. Thailand was well known for its agricultural commodities and being one
of the world's top rice exporters despite being a developing country faced with challenges such as economic growth and poverty. The World Bank
coined Thailand as the fastest emerging economy during the latter part of the 1980's where growth was stimulated by foreign and domestic investment
and borrowing. (http://www.worldbank.org/en/country/thailand/overview). Thailand's poverty rate fell... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The National Education Act 1999 and the Constitution of the Kingdom 1997 urged for a reform in education and significant changes were made to
all levels of education nationally. The reforms in education focused on improving the quality of teaching practices and had adopted some principles
of the King's philosophy of "Sufficient Economy". The King articulated in a 1974 royal speech, "If one focuses only on rapid economic expansion
without making sure that such a plan is appropriate for our people and the condition of our country, it will inevitably result in various imbalances and
eventually end up as failure or crisis in other countries" (Cited by He Changchui at International Workshop on Sufficiency Economy on 27 July 2006).
The philosophy of "sufficient Economy" focuses on the middle path of conducting a way of life enhancing the development of the whole nation. The
King emphasizes the importance of management in order to ease the country's pains endured from the 1997/1998 economic crisis and a willingness to
achieve sustainable development (National Economic Social Development Board,

  • 2. The Bondjo: Misunderstood I chose the Bondjo as my image because it is such a simple shape, but it is very detailed. The Bondjo is a side–blown trumpet. The trumpet is made out of wood and faceted elephant tusk. To make a piece of wood and an elephant tusk sound so beautiful it takes very complex and precise carvings as seen on the image. Not only is the side–blown trumpet carved so precisely, but also it is painted. The flanged wood extension on the trumpet is painted black and white pinstripes. The Bondjo was produced for leaders to use in battle, so such important people did not deserve a bland, unpainted trumpet. The trumpet is painted with pin stripes because Ekonda leaders wore pin stripe headpieces. I believe the pin stripe paint was to show wealth and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Key to Success in Life "Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students" – Solomon Ortiz Do you agree with this quotation? Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or their child success in their life. It's true but not totally true. Education is one part of successful. It's not the whole thing to make us success. Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and they will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to study in top three private universities in Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will have greater future than student who graduate from public university. Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment you will. However, it has someone who doesn't have a chance to study in university because they are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive. As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? Because some of achievement people don't graduate from private university and some of them have the highest education level ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Role Of The Bhumibol Era Symbolic and Political Leadership Surrounding the Bhumibol Era Literature Review Over the course of Thailand's history, the monarchy has faced many challenges and has changed and adapted to many situations to retain their place in Thai society. During the reign of the late King Bhumibol, the Thai people's devotion to the monarchy was revitalized and the King reinserted himself into the politics of the country. Now, it remains to be seen as to how well his son, Maha Vajiralongkorn will integrate into his new role as King and if he will continue his father's devotion to bettering the country and serving his people. This project will be examining how the political and symbolic roles of the monarchy changed over the exceptionally long reign of King Bhumibol as well as what may be expected from his newly coronated son. • 14. Cultural Changes In The 18th Century During the 18th century Siam enjoyed what is sometimes called the golden age, but also had a civil war and more than a couple changes in power. Many cultural changes happened in Siam at this time as well, with the Ayutthaya period ending after reigning since 1350 and, in the very beginning of the 18th century becoming isolated and cutting ties with the western world. In addition to the civil war Siam fought many battles with the Burmese eventually driving them out of Siam in the the 1790's after over almost thirty years of war. Throughout all of these battles the Siamese established a trade monopoly with the Chinese and Japanese that fueled the economy for years to come. In addition to trading with China many Chinese were hired as advisors for trade, financial overseers for the empire and as governors for bits of land around the empire. The eighteenth century was an influential time in Siam both within the country with the Ayutthaya period ending, many changes in government, and outside with multiple invasions fromBurma and the conquering of Cambodia. Summary Of Editing Out Thailand's Past The Editorial Board writes in a NY Times article entitled "Editing Out Thailand's Past" about the removal of Mr. Thaksin's name from newest editions of their history textbooks. There has been confusion as to why the government removed his name since there is no explanation. Personally, I wouldn't want to live in Thailand. According to the Editorial Board, the government has been "aggressively" attempting to shape the minds of young Thais and their perceptions of the public. The Thais Education Ministry has been instructing the students to write their behaviors and attitudes in a merit passport. • 27. Argumentative Essay On Social Media In this age of social media, we are constantly worried about being popular. We are driven by "likes," "comments," and "followers." Not caring what our peers thought, our middle school selves posted anything and everything. Now, as seniors and having had access to social media for an abundance of years, we are far more cautious about what we post but not in the way you might imagine. Instagram is a resourceful tool but, if used incorrectly, could impair your social status. Unlike in middle school, we do not want to post too frequently, too many similar pictures, or too long of a caption. Those who post everyday get a diminishing amount of likes. The unwritten rules to instagram are simple: once a day, once day a week, and at least once a month. Occasionally, these rules are allowed to be broken. A couple times a year, posting two days in a row is permitted, but only in dire circumstances should multiple posts be uploaded in a single day, and now, with multiple photos per post capabilities, the acceptance for this is even less. Uploading several posts of pictures taken on the same day and at the same event becomes repetitive. Putting those pictures in the same post will fix this problem. Adding a caption to the picture also help make your posts different. Followers will often skip over a caption that is too long and disregard a post with no caption at all, but will love a one word to two sentence caption. This international integration forms the basis for globalization and arises from exchange and interbreeding of perspectives, ideas and aspects of culture. This modern economic and global point of view posits that globalization increases trade, raises wages, heightens living standards, and betters the market discipline. With its roots in free market capitalism, the critics of this perspective declare globalization to be detrimental to the vast majority of the working class and poor since most of the labor and work goes to the lowest bidder; proper regulation and working conditions are often ... The deeply rooted free market ideals of globalization forced the Thai baht to be overvalued. The wolf pack like instincts (bred by the greed and profit seeking nature of global capitalism) of the foreign investors let the baht to be over sold and the price of the currency to be driven down into obscurity. Prior to the horrible incident, she posted many different things on social media that the robbers probably used to their advantage. On Snapchat, she flashed her multi–million dollar jewelry on the camera, exposed to millions of her followers. Right before the robbery happened, viewers were aware that she was alone in her hotel room when she posted a video of her congratulating her younger brother through iPhone Facetime. According to CNN, the police has suggested that Kardashian's prolific social posting about her life and wealth may have attracted the robbers in the multi–million dollar heist. Even though there are many other possibilities as to why the robbery occurred, it is still a valid example of why you should be more reserved on what you post on your social media platforms. Since people are widely using social networks to display a lot of their personal information and give access to potential bullies, future jobs/colleges, or even potential criminals, precautions and social awareness as well as media moderation should be constructed so we can take away the harmful stigmas surrounding its use.
