2. What is the exclusionary rule?
The exclusionary rule is a law that prohibits
the use of illegally obtained evidence in a
criminal trial.
3. My position
I am for this rule. I think that if the police find
evidence against you illegally they shouldn’t be able to
use it. Police offices are instated to protect us and keep
people from disobeying the law and for them to be
able to disobey the law and get away with it isn’t right.
4. Convincing
This law also gives police restrictions which proves
they are not above the law.
This law shows that everyone has the right to privacy
and that if police mess up the law it has an effect on
them.
Shows that if you follow the law everything will be fine
5. Why I am against
If police were able to go around searching people’s
houses or cars would we really have any privacy
If they disobey the law they should pay and this should
be a part of the punishment. Ever heard of another
mans trash is another mans treasure .
Most importantly a police officer is here to protect and
to serve if police officers do what ever they want and
get away with it . People would lose respect for them
which I believe would cause more crime.
