3. Synopsis Dr. Stephen Amony bought a doll for his niece from a newspaper shop. He fell in love with the doll and became strongly attracted to the beauty of the doll. After some times, he received a call for a visit which turn out to be the maker of the doll, Mary. He tried to save her from some unknown illness. However, Rose Callamit, Mary’s aunt seemed not too pleased with his intention.
4. Therefore, she asked him not to come anymore. After that, Dr. Amony himself became sick and suffered the same illness as Mary. He later learned that he love Mary. With the help from Jim Carter, the newspaper shop owner, he rescued Mary and married to her.

6. Her parents died in the car accident and her aunt only used her as a moneymaker.

8. Her drawing of the faces of the doll became sadden as her willingness to live faded.
9. Mary lost hope about her twisted leg which actually can be treated. Dr. Amony tried to give her that hope but he was stopped by Rose Callamit who did not want Mary to be treated.

11. Exposition Dr. Stephen Amony is walking down a street when he suddenly noticed a doll in the corner of the window of newspaper shop. He bought the doll as a present for his niece, but felt unusually strong attractiveness towards the doll.
12. Rising Action A few weeks later, Dr. Amony received a phone calls asking for a visit. The patient turns out to be the maker of the doll, Mary. Dr. Amony could see that she is dying . He felt that he could make her leg straight back but it was rejected by Rose Callamit when he voiced his opinion.
13. After that day, he visited mary for a few more times and learned a lot about Mary’s past. However, he still couldn’t figure out what made Mary sick and lost hope to live.
14. Climax Rose Callamit did not allow Dr. Amony to treat Mary anymore. Dr. Amony himself fell sick but nothing was wrong with his body. His seemed to suffer from the same illness like Mary After some time, he finally realizes he fell in love with Mary, and the fact that he couldn’t meet her anymore make him felt ill.
15. He called Jim Carter, the newspaper shop owner to ask for his help- to call him when Rose Callamit came to his shop.
16. Falling Action One day, Jim Carter called to tell him that Rose Callamit was in his shop. Dr. Amony ran to Mary’s house to rescue her. He talked gently to Mary to give her hope to live. Suddenly, Rose Callamit arrived at home. However, she knew she was too late to stop them.
17. Resolution Dr. Amony took Mary away with him and married to her. Now, they are waiting for their second child.
