This document presents a thesis project that analyzes the effects of bullying on the English performance of 6th grade students at Escuela Jesús Magdaleno Vargas in Cacao, Alajuela, Costa Rica in 2018. The project aims to define bullying, identify its causes, determine students' knowledge of bullying, and develop strategies to mitigate its negative impacts. Data collection methods include observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Preliminary results show that while many students report never experiencing bullying, some have been exposed a few times. Bullying most commonly occurs at school and negatively impacts students' participation and performance in English class.
