The Dangers Of Self Driving
Have you ever seen someone while driving, doing something dangerous? Such as texting, talking on the phone, eating, and even doing their makeup.
Doing such acts can cause catastrophic results. In drivers Ed, I learned that if you look away from the road for just two seconds, you can end up
being on your way to the hospital. With self–driving technology, many shattering wrecks could have been prevented. Sure, self–driving technology may
malfunction or even be hacked, but there are tons of computerized machines like traffic lights, robots in factories, phones and there is hardly any
news about them being hacked. With technology advancing, there are people who cannot resist the notification sounds that their phone makes while
driving. Human beings are hasty and do their makeup while driving or getting their breakfast or lunch in. With such acts, driverless cars are
beneficial because of distractibility, safety, and rewards. To begin with, smartphones have become like a drug to people, some cannot live without it
and have to have it with them at all times. Firstly, human distractions while driving puts everyone around in danger. For example, Jake Pelini author
of "Unsafe at any Speed" shares, that if the distractions were eliminated 4 million of the 11 million crashes that happen annually could have been
eradicated (Pelini). Thus, removing all distractions while driving could save millions of lives. Secondly, multitasking is not as easy as it looks. For
instance, Jake Pelini

Cars Character Analysis
In the movie Cars, by John Lasseter, Lightning McQueen goes through a very large personal change or healing process throughout the movie. This
movie is more of a healing myth because, In the beginning, he is a very stuck up and self centered character that only cares about winning. By the
end, he has turned to a more humble character that has a better view on the truly important things in life. In other words, at the beginning he is broken
and must go and truly see the finer things in life and find himself before he can succeed. There are a few different things that change his attitude. One
thing is the people that he meets in Radiator Springs. Second, is the general life of the town that he has to accommodate to. Linda Seger describes a
healing myth as one where "a character is 'broken' and must leave home to become whole again". That statement describes this movie in so many
ways. Lightning McQueen leaves his "home" which is represented by his life on the racing circuit, and goes on a journey where he becomes whole
again before he can return home.
Lightning, meets a lot of different people, or cars, in this small town of Radiator Springs that really change his attitude towards life and also his view
on life. An good example would be Sally. Sally is the pretty girl of this story. She is a nice and shiny blue porsche that Lightning ends up falling inlove
with. The entire time that Lightning is in the town, he tries to impress Sally and make her fall in love with him. They

Warehouse. Carphone warehouse is a successful UK mobile phone retailer. They have 1,700 stores across Europe so they are a large organisation.
Manager is one of the stakeholders in Carphone warehouse. The influence the manager has on Carphone warehouse is very important. The manager in
Carphone house is driven by success and will look for innovative ways to maximise profitability, constantly pushing boundaries to deliver, exceed
business objectives and raising the customer's expectation and experience. The manager is in charge of motivating employees and always making sure

when they are purchasing products this would lead to angry customers which is a disadvantage to the business. Also the suppliers provide
employees with uniform this has an influence on Carphone warehouse because employees need to look presentable for the public. The employees
and suppliers both have same interest which is to be paid on time. If the a manager/owner pays the suppliers late this may cause problems between
the suppliers and the manger/owner to avoid this happening it is best for the manager/owner to pay suppliers on time. Owners are stakeholders in
Carphone warehouse. Owners have an influence on Carphone warehouse as the owner is responsible of recruiting people, training employees,
attending meetings about the business and making sure each department is running smoothly in order for the business to meet its objectives. If the
owner does take responsibility it will affect Carphone warehouse massively and most likely will have a bad reputation. The owner has an influence

Disadvantages Of Driverless Cars
"I'm on my way!" you tell your friend over the phone as you step into your car. "I'll be there in half an hour!" You sit down and buckle up,
absentmindedly opening the alarm app on your phone. You set it to wake you up in thirty minutes, then relax into your seat, turn on the radio, and close
your eyes. How is this possible? Technology has advanced incredibly quickly over the last hundred years, with developments such as the Internet and
the smart phone. Along with this technology has come a lot of developments in the robotics industry. Robotic surgeons, controlled by professionals,
have hands much steadier and more precise than a human could ever hope to mimick, increasing safety and decreasing recovery time for surgery
patients. Most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sensors like these protect against most accidents already, and make up for any amount of human error that might put a driver in some amount of
peril. The ultrasonic sensors tell the car whether or not there are bumps on the road, or if it's approaching a curb, something a human is not always
capable of doing, and the lidar on top identifies lane markers and the edges of the road by bouncing light off of them. Sensors on self–driving cars take
out all the guess work usually involved in driving a car out of the equation. While all of these sensors work together to steer the car away from
danger, occasionally, says Olivia Solon, data amassed by all the sensors can conflict with each other, resulting in a dangerous situation referred to as
"sensor fusion." This fusion of sensors has already resulted in a fatal crash involving a tester of a self–driving Tesla car; the sensors produced
conflicting data, and as a result mistook a truck for an overhead road sign, causing the car to run directly into the truck. Therefore, while these
numerous sensors are instrumental to the driverless car, they are still in development and not yet safe to trust with human lives. GPS tracking and
positioning is also incorporated into every automated car, for the self–evident purpose of informing driver and car where they are and where they're
going. Some cars

Personal Narrative: I Am In High School
As the T.V. light lit the room, my dad, mom, my two older brothers, and I quietly ate our cheap takeout food. Then as the commercials turned on, Dad
stood up, muted the T.V., and calmly said, "I have some very interesting news to tell you about work today." At first I thought he was going to give a
lecture about how he does not want to get called at work saying how his son got an F on a Spanish test, but the truth is that I am in middle school and
people always say grades don't matter until high school, so why should we care about only one bad grade?
"What?" we all said dreadfully while I was on the edge of my seat waiting for him to start talking again so I could burst out the door. Then I started to

Dinner was fried fish again which I have problem with. When I saw the fish it made me even more desperate and when the waitress put the food I got
an idea.
Later that night, I quietly grabbed my fishing gear, race to the bedroom window, so I could scale the wall to go fishing. Before I was able to open the
window The light flickered on. I saw Jon on his bed throwing darts at the dartboard and Jake on his bed playing cards.
"Hey what are you doing with all that gear. Wait don't tell me you were going to sneak out to go fishing?" Jon said
"Well yes because no one is ever going to want to go fishing with me besides Dad" I said
"Here I will make you a deal,I will keep your secret for five dollars and not tell anyone."
"Deal" I angrily "Do you need anything Jake?"
"No just go have fun" Jake said
"Thank you" I said while paying Jon the five bucks.
Fishing in the dark was not good because I couldn't see where I casted or how close I was to the the water. There were fish out tonight, so I only for

Using A Mobile Phone While Driving A Car
There is no denying that technology distracts us from our daily tasks. To solve this problem Google created Google Glass, which it touts as way of
'getting technology out of the way'. Google Glass is a device which many won't believe actually exists. It is a frame with a camera and a small
display on the top right which can relay information on top of your field of vision. Google's released Glass in its 'Explorer Program' where it is selling
Glass to a limited audience for testing the product before retailing it to public. Wearing a screen on your head poses surprisingly many ethical
problems and in this report we will look at the health, security and privacy issues of Glass and then follow it up with the reasons behind the decision
made and ways to improve on it.
Firstly, is wearing a device on your head really safe? If using a mobile phone while driving a car is unacceptable then what about a head mounted
display which hinders your vision? 3 states in USA have already banned wearing Google Glass while driving (9). Moreover, Glass also has a
trackpad which allows the user to use his finger to control the device. To ensure safety while driving it is critical that the driver has his hands on the
steering wheel and not on the trackpad. Even though Glass can issue voice commands to tell directions to a place, can we be sure that the driver will
resist the urge to fidget with the trackpad? However, people from the Glass explorer program point out that using Google Glass may

The, An Idea Thought Of By Steven Harris
Background: DoorGuard, an idea thought of by Steven Harris, which protects the side of your car from accidental dents that occur in parking lots all
across the world. Harris's idea of a product that helps prevent dents in the side of car doors is a very simple idea that many individuals would never have
thought to create, and the DoorGuard product would seem to have many buyers who are looking to help protect their new/used cars. The thought
of having a giant piece of removable foam on each side of an individual's car has its benefits, and its disadvantages. The strong points of DoorGuard
would obviously be the face that it protects the side of an induvial car from unwanted accidental dents that occur when another individual either
parks to close to one, or someone who is reckless. On top of preventing dents, DoorGuard is easy to place on the side of car doors, and is easy to
dismantle and store away. The protection DoorGuard would bring to one's car comes with some weaknesses. One weakness that seems to stick out
is the fact that DoorGuard is a giant foam pad that rests on the side of one's car doors. Many consumers would not like the look of DoorGuard with
its big appearance which is good for advertising, but some people would like a product that is minimal and blends in with their cars color. If theft is
attempted on the DoorGuard, the cable that goes into the door to keep it from easily getting stolen would tear the panel, thus, ruining the product for

Racecars Movies Are Just Not About Racing
Pixar created a virtual world of toys by creating Toy Story and later created a virtual world of cars through the box office hit Cars. Lightening
McQueen is a showstopper for sure but he is not just one of the main characters or should I say cars that make this an enjoyable movie people both
alike and different would watch countless times. The story line is Lightening McQueen's journey along the way of winning a Piston Cup. Although all
of these movie posters of Pixar's animated movie Cars come from the same movie, these examples show that publishing companies use various scenes,
characters and taglines to appeal to different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The road the cars are positioned on is a road that goes through the famous town known as Radiator Springs. A Grand Canyon like, rustic, red rock
desert scenery complete with an almost sun setting sky finishes off the background.
This particular movie poster will appear interesting to not only racecar fanatics but also adventurous spirited people, because of the desert like
scenery in the back, because clearly a racecar does not belong in that type of landscape. It also appears appealing to the ones who desire mystery, the
ones who must find out why a famous racecar is hanging out with cars from a run down desert town. Those movie watchers that seek a movie with a
sense of community and friendship involved will be intrigued by this particular cover because of all the other cars in the back.
Just like the previous movie poster Lightening McQueen is in the same position, in the very center smiling. He once again is the center of attention or
star of the show with the other cars behind him with slightly lighter paint jobs. The red coloring contrasts nicely once again with the ever–present
famous Cars movie logo. Instead of this background being the town of Radiator Springs this particular poster is posited at a racetrack. The sky is once
again just before sunset with a faint yellow beginning just above the top of the stands with that turns into a bluish purple with a pink in between. The

Rhetorical Analysis Of Car Dealers In The Late 30's '
Throughout the late 20's and early 30's, people suffered in some of the worst ways America has ever faced. John Steinbeck noticed how people, in
some ways, were treated much worse than they should have been when he considered what these people faced. Many people felt harsh treatment in car
dealerships specifically, as they purchased cars to help them travel across the country towards California. Through the use of tone and diction, John
Steinbeck characterizes the car salesmen as ruthless towards those who are suffering. Throughout the passage, the tone used to describe the dealers
emphasized just how harsh dealers were to those trying to purchase cars. Many times, people were spoken to as if they didn't matter whatsoever. It
had been seen that" if the women like[d]" the car, then the salesman could "screw the old man" into buying the car at a higher price than he
initially would have been willing to in the first place. People were treated as if they didn't matter and if someone chose the more expensive choice,
someone else was taken advantage of, no matter their struggles. There were also instances where people came with the attitude of others "don't want
to buy no cars" instead they wanted to "take up [their] time." Car salesmen felt as if these people who were fighting to survive were simply wasting
time and they didn't have intentions to purchase a car, even if that was the real reason they were there. They diminished the real efforts of people who
needed those cars to find work and support themselves just by the way they said people were wasting their time. Steinbeck continued to describe the
merciless car salesman with their tone towards individuals with the ways salesmen saw them as "bastards on the sidewalk" instead of seeing them as
struggling just to get by on a daily basis. The harshness of the salesmen's description completely confirms the inhumane thoughts they have towards
those who dealt with horrific hardships. Furthermore, Steinbeck took the tone one step further in his representation of just how harsh these salesmen
were to people who just wanted to find a vehicle to take them to find work. Car dealers didn't want anything "for more'n twenty–five, thirty bucks,"
instead they only accepted

Life Changing Actions In Stephen King's 'The First Argument'
Have you ever began to notice subtle changes that turn into life changing actions in someone close to you? They go from a friend whom you tell all
of your problems, and a respectable son with a blooming future, to a distant friend who you used to know, and a son who is flushing the life who he
used to know down the toilet. This is the life of Dennis Guilder, Regina Cunningham, and her husband. Set in 1970's America, Christine, is written from
the perspective of Dennis Guilder who know the most about Arnie. Being his best friend, Dennis has had the opportunity to witness the life of Arnie
Cunningham. In addition, he has studied the character of Arnie parents, Regina and Michael Cunningham who are college professors at Horlicks
University. In Stephen King's novel, Christine, conflict arises between Arnie Cunningham, and Dennis Guilder and Regina Cunningham and Michael
Cunningham. All of them, with the exception of Arnie, try to resolve their problems with Arnie. In the novel, Regina Cunningham uses her aristocratic
personality to exterminate the problem between Arnie and herself. In the second chapter of Christine, "The First Argument" takes place between the
family,
Arnie looked at them, his eyes odd and white and dangerous. "I'm telling you, I'm going to have this. This one thing."
"Arnie, the insurance..." Michael began.
"Stop it!" Regina shouted. She didn't want to start talking about specific problems because that was the first step on the road to possible acceptance;

I Like Older Cars Essay
I like older cars. Cars are one of the coolest things that were every made in my opinion. I think that cars that are older than 1990 are better than the
cars that are 1991 and newer because they are easier to work on, they also look better, and sound better but the newer cars get better gas millage, and
are safer.
I have worked on my different new and old cars, but I think that the older cars are easier to work on. They are easier to because they don't have all
the technology that the newer cars have. For example my dad's 1984 Chevy Truck doesn't have all the things that a 2018 truck has on it. For example,
newer car is electronica and my dad's truck has cables that make the carburetor work. There are also a lot different things that make it easier to work
on older cars over newer cars. For example, you don't have a many wires getting in the way with the older cars where the new cars have a wire or more

only a few short hours. Supplies from the cities would come twice as fast to the smaller towns. Recreation will soar to new levels because every person

will be able to come together and travel to places that they have never been. They will be able to go out together to distant relatives' houses for
introducing and bonding. Families could drive miles from their houses for a nice picnic in the country alone. Can you even begin to imagine the
impact that this will have on our entire dating process? Young men could drive over and get their beautiful young women from their houses and
drive to anywhere they pleased for their date. You and your date creating only the most romantic evenings could explore towns that are miles
away. They could even just drive all night always getting a new view of the world while they talked. Married Couples could take trips to far away
places for their honeymoons or anniversaries; or even better yet, DRIVE away from the church after the ceremony. Actually go far away where no
one knows your name and have a wonderful honeymoon or anniversary by exploring each other in depth all over again in a place foreign to you and

When this brand reputation is combined with low priced cars, the sales revenues of Ford are likely to increase. The new cars should be fuel efficient.
There should be cost savings for the customer both when the cars are purchased and when the cars are used.
The feedback from this strategy will be that the market share of Ford will increase. The increase in Ford revenues will be higher than the growth of
auto demand. The measure of success of this strategy will be an increase in the market share of Ford. The customers who are attracted to foreign cars
because of lower prices and lower fuel consumption will again be drawn towards Ford.

Technology And Technology Essay
Technology is unavoidable. No matter where you turn there is sure to be some sort of screen right in your face full of information. The Information Age
has transformed society in ways no one could have imagined. But when do the advancements become too much? Machines and artificial intelligence
have become an integral part of our society used by the majority of the population in their everyday lives. Artificial intelligence has woven its way deep
into our society and begun controlling our lives, without most people even batting an eye. Although technological advances are good, continuing to let
AI grow at this alarming pace will dangerously inhibit the capability of the human brain while also putting generations of people out of work. The
technological advancement that is most prevalent in today's society is without a doubt, the smartphone. People now have access to any information

their memory because they know they will have their phone if they ever need to access it later on. With the internet literally at our fingertips, humans

Smart and IoT devices range from mobile phones, televisions, cars, heart monitors and refrigerators. Each of these devices empowers us to simplify
and make our lives more convenient. These devices allow us easier access and share data but comes with a certain amount of risk. The increase of
smart devices has also increased the number of cyber threats and attacks. The cyber threats that plague these devices are consistently getting more
advanced and harder to detect but they consist of Trojans, viruses, botnets, and advanced manipulative devices. Cyber security is an emerging field of

Essay on the significance of the lemon law act
It happens many times. A person finds the car of their dreams. They drive it around for a few weeks when it happens. The car will not start, it
makes a funny noise, or the breaks just will not do anything while stepping onto the pedal. Does the person have to pay for the repairs all by
themselves? And if so, what happens when the exact same problem happens more than 3 times? It is just not fair to pay all this money on your brand
new affordable car. But, one should not worry. There is a solution to all these annoying questions one just does not know how to answer. This is how
the Magnuson –Moss warranty act comes into this situation. The "lemon law" is a subdivision of this act. The Magnuson–Moss warranty act, when tied

It involves more serious things, which can not be repaired within 3 repairs. Autopedia explained that for any serious safety defect, such as brakes or
steering, the manufacturer has one attempt. If it is a safety but not serious, they have 2 attempts. And for any other defect, they usually receive 3 or 4
chances to repair. The repairs may not be a result of abuse, neglect or unauthorized modifications or alterations. The cases must be given to the
manufacturer, and they must have responded to your complaint and rendered a decision within 40 days. The terms apply within the express warranty
or the first year of ownership from date of delivery, which ever comes first. Another way also is within the first 12–24 months or 24,000 miles. If miles
have been put on, the manufacturer may decide to use reduction. In order to do this, they use the following equation:
Miles at time of refund x the purchase price
100,000
This equation was found on both the Cartalk and the Autopedia sites. Another point that a consumer may argue, is about the miles put on in between
the repairs. However, the majority of times, it does not work. In events of strike, war or natural disaster that prevent repairs, lemon laws will not help a

Identify The Different Types Of Drivers Essay
When traversing highways and interstates, people run into many different types of drivers. Those operating vehicles all fall into a certain category.
Drivers, though more than likely not self–aware, have a very specific way of driving that allows them to fall into such a category; however, drivers
typically do not have a problem calling out other drivers on their faults. It would almost seem that a long trip or even a quick run anywhere is really
just a never ending sequence of blaring horns and screeching halts in contempt for drivers outside of one's own classification. Vehicle operators will
either drive carelessly, dangerously, or carefully. Drivers can be classified into three categories: The DJ, Daredevils, and Goody Two
–Shoes. The first
type of driver falls into the careless category, also known as the DJ. DJs tend to blare music at deafening decibels. To maximize their disturbance, DJs
also typically drive with all windows rolled down including the sunroof. If the cars immediately surrounding them are not shaking along to the beat
DJs are unsatisfied. DJs are also really good at multitasking. Rather than their main focus being on the road or the surroundings, DJs' attention is on
whatever handheld device they're selecting music from. Most of the time they come out alive. DJs are also skilled ... Show more content on

They all fall into at least one category, but can sometimes identify with two or even all three. Vehicle operators are not generally aware of their own
classification, but can more often than not identify the category that other drivers fall into. This identification is usually pointed out through the rage
empowered shouts of neighboring drivers. These categories also present a sort of hate triangle. The three types do not often coexist peacefully, but on
rare occasions you can find them driving in harmony. Drivers can be classified into three categories: The DJ, Daredevils, and Goody

Statistics Experiment Essay
Statistics Experiment
For my maths coursework I will be conducting an investigation into statistics. I had a choice for this coursework of both statistics on year 10 to 11
school children, and facts about them and also their likes in terms of sport and subjects at school. I chose not to do this project on that information;
instead I chose data on 100 different cars, the reason for this is that I like cars more and may perhaps pursue it as a career. I did not want to do a
project on data that I have no interest in.
The 100 different cars have data under the following headings, Car number in order from 1 to 100, the make of the car, the price when new of the car,
the current second hand price, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For my coursework I will be hopefully conducting a total of 3 different investigations into this survey, though this may change to 2 or 4. My aim is
to look for a correlation in the separate investigations and perhaps if I can draw any conclusions or maybe find a formula or prediction for a
particular investigation that will work for all or most cars. E.g. if from mileage, price when new and age I can calculate the current second hand price.
My investigation will be:
The frequency of mileage in my sample, if there is a relationship between the second hand price and age of a car, and finally if there is relationship
between the age and percentage loss of a car.
I will be taking a sample of 20 cars; I will take every 5th car in the database. I will show the data in terms of tables, a tally chart, and by way of bar, and
scatter graphs with a line of best fit if applicable.
To improve my investigation I will take a sample of 5 cars, which will not be included in my final investigation, but this 5 car sample is to test my
investigation techniques, and to allow me to foresee and problems and practise in investigating statistics.
I will not be able to take all 100 cars and will have to do my investigations on different samples of the survey, I hope to take 1/5 of the cars, and I will
do my investigations on 20 cars. I

The Effects Of Autonomous Cars On Society Essay
Tyler Hagemeier
Dr. Learst
English 102
20 November 2016
Argumentative Essay While researching articles about autonomous cars, I found a few authors who wrote about the effects of autonomous cars on
society and whether or not these should be introduced to our world's roads. On one hand, some authors believe "self–driving" cars should not be
allowed on roads. They believe this revolution in the change of cars will destroy large industries which includes the auto–insurance industry, parking
industry, and auto–aftermarket industry. However, with the expansion of these new technologies, it could introduce new industries as well. Some say
autonomous cars draw questions of ethicality with accidents because there is not a human driving the vehicle. The truth is, human drivers cause a
shocking amount of accidents each year which could be greatly decreased by autonomous cars. My goal in this paper is to argue that autonomous or
"self driving" cars should be introduced to our world's roads because there will be less accidents, massive economic benefits, and a more efficient
form of transportation. To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper into three sections. In this first section, I will provide evidence and discuss the
amount of accidents human drivers create on the roads. I will then explain how "self driving" cars can limit the amount of accidents and discuss the
ethics of autonomous cars. In the second section, I will explain how autonomous cars can benefit the

The Driving Of Car Cars

constant money issues, and also getting into trouble.
First, one problem that is facing most car guys is that they are on top of the actions that happen near their car. Car guys are constantly cleaning
their car. When passing by one there is a tendency of seeing them hold on to a microfiber towel and detailer spray to keep their cars clean. In my
case, you will never seem without my Chemical Guy quick detailer in my hand, making sure my car shines as bright as it can possibly. Next, car
guys always tend to park ridiculously. They will always take up more than one space just so that no one ever mess up their paint jobs. Even when
parking on a sidewalk, they try to stay away from the curb so they don't scratch the rims that they have. I have an issue with my car being too low
and always either scraping the bottom of my car or even my rims. Finally, they always have a trend of giving people dirty looks. When they see
someone or to get something close to their car they start to have a mini heart attack and rush as fast as they can to make sure the

Cars were idolized in the 1930's, everyone wanted them. When the cars first became popular they weren't worried about the utility of the car. The
style and design was more about elegance and luxury. Everyone wanted their cars to nice, the 1930's were considered the Classic Era of cars

Speech On Car Enthusiast
Three honks. Ready, set, go. The moment every car enthusiast dreams of at night. Chances are you might not even know what a car enthusiast is.
Some say it's your average car guy that likes to stare at cars and talk about cars all day long, but there's much more too it. See, you can't be the average
person to be a car enthusiast. The average person may see an old car at a junkyard and just think well, it's just another piece of junk. Too a car
enthusiast he sees a piece of art. He or she witnesses something they can build and make into something truly special.
Sunday mornings, with the sun shining through your garage window, as sweat drips down your face and gets into your eyes. Grease on your hands,
spending time with your'e car and what your making it become. That's what a car enthusiast fenes for. Spending time with your pops, problem solving,
working hard together and bonding. Or maybe you're with some of your buddies who are also into cars. Teaming up too break nuts loose, or putting the
car back together to witness the end result of what you all accomplished. It's all an art form, and to the average person it just sounds like hard work,
and they're right it is. Therefore for us car guys, it's something much more than that.

The Pros And Cons Of A Driverless Car
As the idea of driverless cars becomes more of a reality, many debate whether it's the right choice to incorporate into everyday life. The pros of
driverless cars is their efficiency in travel, the cons are their deficiency in computing. The cons of a self–driving car is too crucial to accept, unless they
are fixed. Despite the somewhat competent capabilities of a driverless car, humans are also seen as a leading cause of accidents. Driverless cars
are not 100% road compatible yet and they are still vulnerable to malicious use. Finally, cars could crash and freeze over long use, which can be
seriously threatening to the passengers. Humans can be the cause of a majority of driverless car collisions. As said in Source 1, "The human 'safety
driver' hit the brakes. The pedestrian emerged unhurt, but Google's car was hit from behind." [Source 1, Page 3, Paragraph 30, Line 3]. The
driverless car had functioned like it was supposed to, but due to human error, the collision happened anyways. So despite the driverless car doing it's

The Role Of Masculinity In Disney And Pixar
Characterized to Be Emasculated
Questioning the masculinity within male characters of Disney/Pixar, by watching their son's perspective on the film "Cars," in "Post–Princess Models
of Gender: The New Man in Disney/Pixar," Ken Gillam and Shannon R. Wooden examine multiple movies and point out that the leading male
characters in "Cars," "Toy Story," and "The Incredibles," are victims of emasculation. Prior to Disney/Pixar releasing nine movies, Disney conveyed
all its main male characters to be "alpha male" (472). However, Pixar opened new types of characters, those that led to having the characters'
masculinity stripped by another supporting character in the film. The authors draw attention from the strong male model to the "New Man" (476) role.
Gillam and Wooden focus on the main male characters in each of the movies who all start with a high machismo personality, which rapidly transitions
into an effeminate identity.
Buzz, Woody, Mr. Incredible, and Lighting McQueen all assumed they were going to achieve the "alpha male" (472) status, by isolating from their
friends and family, and becoming agitated towards any forces that challenged their power. Each of these characters quickly realized the alpha male
qualities were not going to help them achieve what was expected. The authors point out that the main emotions that the characters possess in the
beginning of the movies is "anger and frustration" (474). Why did Disney originally limit the emotions that men can feel? The

Drive a Car, Not a Cell Phone Essay
"When a driver 'talks and drives' they are not only putting themselves at risk, they are also putting everyone around them in a dangerous situation"
(ComparisonMarket.com). A study conducted last year by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, had cameras placed inside one hundred cars and
trucks to track drivers' activities before a dangerous event occurred. Research shows users of cell phones while driving caused far more crashes and
near misses than non–users. These statistics do not change even if the hand held device becomes hands free by means of a blue tooth or speaker
phone. Hands–free cell phones may allow the driver to keep both hands on the wheel however, devices such as headsets or voice activated dialing led

A few of the test subjects even rear–ended the pace car. The drunken test subjects were a little slower than those on hand held devices and drove more
aggressively. These test subjects followed the pace car much more closely and braked on average only four seconds before a collision would
occur, hitting their brakes with more force. Neither accident rates, nor reaction times to the pace car braking, nor recovery of the lost speed
differed significantly from the undistracted drivers. Proving though the drunk drivers followed too close and reacted too slowly these drivers were
adept at avoiding an actual collision and driving smoothly in regards to speed, while the distracted drivers with hand held devices were affected in
all areas of testing. These studies have led many to argue for legislation to ban hand held device usage in vehicles. Distracted driving fatalities caused
by hand held usage has risen in recent years by twenty eight percent researchers say. Inattentive drivers are estimated to cause twenty to fifty percent
of all police reported crashes; distracted drivers, a sub–category of inattentive drivers, has been individually estimated up to thirteen percent of these
crashes. Many raise the objection of passenger conversation being just as distracting as hand held

Cell Phones And Mobile Cars
Throughout human advancement our brain has developed new abilities, ingenuity, and intelligence, all of which are crucial to precede in the next step
of evolution. However all of those factors do not help the vulnerable mind achieve one goal while driving which is avoiding distractions. The conflict
with driving that most experienced and inexperienced drivers have, is the confrontation with inner and outer disturbances in their environment.
Throughout the beginnings of the first mobile cars, many diversions from the outside environment were the reasons for many accidents. However,
these diversions have changed throughout the involvement and advancement of technology. The term mobile is now fused with transportation ad
communication. Mobile phones and mobile cars might have the same expression but do not mix well together. The development of time–absorbing
apps and games has come a long way in its process of just being temporarily useful programs. Each time these utilities enhance their abilities; the
danger rises therefore being a contributor to becoming "an even greater temptation" (Bernstein & Bernstein 1). The device at hand could be a weapon
if not an accomplice of an accident. Interacting with any hand held gadget, increases the risk of involving death to any individual, including one self's,
life. Many consider the fact that even having one inside the car, increases the chances of an incident happening due to lack of "situational awareness"

Industry Analysis Used car market was a huge market with attractive growth opportunities during 1980s. It was estimated worth $ 375 billion
market. Competition was so deeply fragmented that no single dealership could claim more than a few percentage points share of the used car market
in any locale. New car dealerships were the largest sellers of used cars. 65 % of late model, used vehicles were sold by 21,800 new car dealers through

The Chase
The sound of her alarm ringing in her ear was what woke her up so suddenly that morning. Emma knew that these next two days were going to be

sun beaming on a hot summer day. Her eyes were blue like the ocean and her skin was pale like sand. As she was getting ready she could hear the
thumping of her father's footsteps as he was climbing up the stairs.
He opened the door to her room and hesitantly said, "Mom and I are waiting in the car, we are ready when you are."
Emma could tell her parents were worried. This was the first time she was going to be away from her family this long. As soon as she finished
gathering all her clothes and packed it all up, she could hear the honking from the car letting her know it was time to go.
The car ride there was long and interesting. They passed by many tourist attractions such as the "Mall of America." Emma was really excited to finally
get to go on this trip with her three best friends, Daniel, Jane, and Chris. They always ate lunch with each other at school and they basically did

Car Advantages And Disadvantages
Car shopping is extremely stressful and tiring, hoping from dealer to dealer trying to get the best prices and rates. The question is whether to buy
new or used. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. With new you can build the car exactly how you want it with the latest technology
but be ready to pay a hefty price, more expensive insurance and a hard depreciation hit. Buying used you save up some more money. Maybe you
can get a car that's a year or two old like new condition. You don't take such a big depreciation hit, it's cheaper to insure but it also has its
disadvantages. Some disadvantages are not knowing If the car has any hidden problems or crashes you don't know of. This research paper will
help you decide to choose what's the better option. Buying a car, new or used is one of the worst investments anyone can possibly make in their
lifetime. A car is a depreciating asset, it loses value rapidly and drastically. Despite a car being a money pit, a reliable form of transportation is
essential in order for most people to produce an income. The question is whether to buy a new or used vehicle. Both come with their advantages and
disadvantages, but it all depends on what the buyer wants and their approach to buying a car. I would never buy a new car because it's a horrible
investment and buying a used car is infinitely a better vale. Youwant a new car but don't want to take the first year's hefty depreciation hit. Cars lose

Should California's Laws Be Caused By Phones In Cars?
On July 1st, California's laws against phones in cars were enacted. The first of the two laws stated that drivers above the age of 18 must use a device
that is hands–free if they would like to talk on the phone. However, if they are in a medical or traffic emergency they can not use any device at all. Also,
text messaging is unfortunately not banned except the patrol in California has brought to drivers' attention that they could be fined for irresponsible
driving. In my opinion, I do think this law is a step in the right direction but I think that every driver should not be able to talk or do anything on any
device while driving despite it being hands–free or not. This law may diminish the amount of accidents that are caused by phones,

The Dangers Of Self Driving

  • 1. The Dangers Of Self Driving Have you ever seen someone while driving, doing something dangerous? Such as texting, talking on the phone, eating, and even doing their makeup. Doing such acts can cause catastrophic results. In drivers Ed, I learned that if you look away from the road for just two seconds, you can end up being on your way to the hospital. With self–driving technology, many shattering wrecks could have been prevented. Sure, self–driving technology may malfunction or even be hacked, but there are tons of computerized machines like traffic lights, robots in factories, phones and there is hardly any news about them being hacked. With technology advancing, there are people who cannot resist the notification sounds that their phone makes while driving. Human beings are hasty and do their makeup while driving or getting their breakfast or lunch in. With such acts, driverless cars are beneficial because of distractibility, safety, and rewards. To begin with, smartphones have become like a drug to people, some cannot live without it and have to have it with them at all times. Firstly, human distractions while driving puts everyone around in danger. For example, Jake Pelini author of "Unsafe at any Speed" shares, that if the distractions were eliminated 4 million of the 11 million crashes that happen annually could have been eradicated (Pelini). Thus, removing all distractions while driving could save millions of lives. Secondly, multitasking is not as easy as it looks. For instance, Jake Pelini ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Cars Character Analysis In the movie Cars, by John Lasseter, Lightning McQueen goes through a very large personal change or healing process throughout the movie. This movie is more of a healing myth because, In the beginning, he is a very stuck up and self centered character that only cares about winning. By the end, he has turned to a more humble character that has a better view on the truly important things in life. In other words, at the beginning he is broken and must go and truly see the finer things in life and find himself before he can succeed. There are a few different things that change his attitude. One thing is the people that he meets in Radiator Springs. Second, is the general life of the town that he has to accommodate to. Linda Seger describes a healing myth as one where "a character is 'broken' and must leave home to become whole again". That statement describes this movie in so many ways. Lightning McQueen leaves his "home" which is represented by his life on the racing circuit, and goes on a journey where he becomes whole again before he can return home. Lightning, meets a lot of different people, or cars, in this small town of Radiator Springs that really change his attitude towards life and also his view on life. An good example would be Sally. Sally is the pretty girl of this story. She is a nice and shiny blue porsche that Lightning ends up falling inlove with. The entire time that Lightning is in the town, he tries to impress Sally and make her fall in love with him. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Disadvantages Of Driverless Cars "I'm on my way!" you tell your friend over the phone as you step into your car. "I'll be there in half an hour!" You sit down and buckle up, absentmindedly opening the alarm app on your phone. You set it to wake you up in thirty minutes, then relax into your seat, turn on the radio, and close your eyes. How is this possible? Technology has advanced incredibly quickly over the last hundred years, with developments such as the Internet and the smart phone. Along with this technology has come a lot of developments in the robotics industry. Robotic surgeons, controlled by professionals, have hands much steadier and more precise than a human could ever hope to mimick, increasing safety and decreasing recovery time for surgery patients. Most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sensors like these protect against most accidents already, and make up for any amount of human error that might put a driver in some amount of peril. The ultrasonic sensors tell the car whether or not there are bumps on the road, or if it's approaching a curb, something a human is not always capable of doing, and the lidar on top identifies lane markers and the edges of the road by bouncing light off of them. Sensors on self–driving cars take out all the guess work usually involved in driving a car out of the equation. While all of these sensors work together to steer the car away from danger, occasionally, says Olivia Solon, data amassed by all the sensors can conflict with each other, resulting in a dangerous situation referred to as "sensor fusion." This fusion of sensors has already resulted in a fatal crash involving a tester of a self–driving Tesla car; the sensors produced conflicting data, and as a result mistook a truck for an overhead road sign, causing the car to run directly into the truck. Therefore, while these numerous sensors are instrumental to the driverless car, they are still in development and not yet safe to trust with human lives. GPS tracking and positioning is also incorporated into every automated car, for the self–evident purpose of informing driver and car where they are and where they're going. Some cars ... Then as the commercials turned on, Dad stood up, muted the T.V., and calmly said, "I have some very interesting news to tell you about work today." At first I thought he was going to give a lecture about how he does not want to get called at work saying how his son got an F on a Spanish test, but the truth is that I am in middle school and people always say grades don't matter until high school, so why should we care about only one bad grade? I saw Jon on his bed throwing darts at the dartboard and Jake on his bed playing cards. "Hey what are you doing with all that gear. Wait don't tell me you were going to sneak out to go fishing?" Jon said "Well yes because no one is ever going to want to go fishing with me besides Dad" I said "Here I will make you a deal,I will keep your secret for five dollars and not tell anyone." • 6. Using A Mobile Phone While Driving A Car There is no denying that technology distracts us from our daily tasks. To solve this problem Google created Google Glass, which it touts as way of 'getting technology out of the way'. Google Glass is a device which many won't believe actually exists. It is a frame with a camera and a small display on the top right which can relay information on top of your field of vision. Google's released Glass in its 'Explorer Program' where it is selling Glass to a limited audience for testing the product before retailing it to public. Wearing a screen on your head poses surprisingly many ethical problems and in this report we will look at the health, security and privacy issues of Glass and then follow it up with the reasons behind the decision made and ways to improve on it. Firstly, is wearing a device on your head really safe? If using a mobile phone while driving a car is unacceptable then what about a head mounted display which hinders your vision? 3 states in USA have already banned wearing Google Glass while driving (9). Moreover, Glass also has a trackpad which allows the user to use his finger to control the device. To ensure safety while driving it is critical that the driver has his hands on the steering wheel and not on the trackpad. Even though Glass can issue voice commands to tell directions to a place, can we be sure that the driver will resist the urge to fidget with the trackpad? However, people from the Glass explorer program point out that using Google Glass may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The, An Idea Thought Of By Steven Harris Background: DoorGuard, an idea thought of by Steven Harris, which protects the side of your car from accidental dents that occur in parking lots all across the world. Harris's idea of a product that helps prevent dents in the side of car doors is a very simple idea that many individuals would never have thought to create, and the DoorGuard product would seem to have many buyers who are looking to help protect their new/used cars. The thought of having a giant piece of removable foam on each side of an individual's car has its benefits, and its disadvantages. The strong points of DoorGuard would obviously be the face that it protects the side of an induvial car from unwanted accidental dents that occur when another individual either parks to close to one, or someone who is reckless. On top of preventing dents, DoorGuard is easy to place on the side of car doors, and is easy to dismantle and store away. The protection DoorGuard would bring to one's car comes with some weaknesses. One weakness that seems to stick out is the fact that DoorGuard is a giant foam pad that rests on the side of one's car doors. Many consumers would not like the look of DoorGuard with its big appearance which is good for advertising, but some people would like a product that is minimal and blends in with their cars color. If theft is attempted on the DoorGuard, the cable that goes into the door to keep it from easily getting stolen would tear the panel, thus, ruining the product for the person ... Movies Are Just Not About Racing Brittany Stehr Professor Foust English 1010–20 9 November 2015 Racecars Movies Are Just Not About Racing Pixar created a virtual world of toys by creating Toy Story and later created a virtual world of cars through the box office hit Cars. Lightening McQueen is a showstopper for sure but he is not just one of the main characters or should I say cars that make this an enjoyable movie people both alike and different would watch countless times. The story line is Lightening McQueen's journey along the way of winning a Piston Cup. Although all of these movie posters of Pixar's animated movie Cars come from the same movie, these examples show that publishing companies use various scenes, characters and taglines to appeal to different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The road the cars are positioned on is a road that goes through the famous town known as Radiator Springs. A Grand Canyon like, rustic, red rock desert scenery complete with an almost sun setting sky finishes off the background. This particular movie poster will appear interesting to not only racecar fanatics but also adventurous spirited people, because of the desert like scenery in the back, because clearly a racecar does not belong in that type of landscape. It also appears appealing to the ones who desire mystery, the ones who must find out why a famous racecar is hanging out with cars from a run down desert town. Those movie watchers that seek a movie with a sense of community and friendship involved will be intrigued by this particular cover because of all the other cars in the back. Just like the previous movie poster Lightening McQueen is in the same position, in the very center smiling. He once again is the center of attention or star of the show with the other cars behind him with slightly lighter paint jobs. The red coloring contrasts nicely once again with the ever–present famous Cars movie logo. Instead of this background being the town of Radiator Springs this particular poster is posited at a racetrack. The sky is once again just before sunset with a faint yellow beginning just above the top of the stands with that turns into a bluish purple with a pink in between. The grassy section between the ... • 11. Rhetorical Analysis Of Car Dealers In The Late 30's ' Throughout the late 20's and early 30's, people suffered in some of the worst ways America has ever faced. John Steinbeck noticed how people, in some ways, were treated much worse than they should have been when he considered what these people faced. Many people felt harsh treatment in car dealerships specifically, as they purchased cars to help them travel across the country towards California. Through the use of tone and diction, John Steinbeck characterizes the car salesmen as ruthless towards those who are suffering. Throughout the passage, the tone used to describe the dealers emphasized just how harsh dealers were to those trying to purchase cars. Many times, people were spoken to as if they didn't matter whatsoever. It had been seen that" if the women like[d]" the car, then the salesman could "screw the old man" into buying the car at a higher price than he initially would have been willing to in the first place. People were treated as if they didn't matter and if someone chose the more expensive choice, someone else was taken advantage of, no matter their struggles. There were also instances where people came with the attitude of others "don't want to buy no cars" instead they wanted to "take up [their] time." Car salesmen felt as if these people who were fighting to survive were simply wasting time and they didn't have intentions to purchase a car, even if that was the real reason they were there. They diminished the real efforts of people who needed those cars to find work and support themselves just by the way they said people were wasting their time. Steinbeck continued to describe the merciless car salesman with their tone towards individuals with the ways salesmen saw them as "bastards on the sidewalk" instead of seeing them as struggling just to get by on a daily basis. The harshness of the salesmen's description completely confirms the inhumane thoughts they have towards those who dealt with horrific hardships. Furthermore, Steinbeck took the tone one step further in his representation of just how harsh these salesmen were to people who just wanted to find a vehicle to take them to find work. Car dealers didn't want anything "for more'n twenty–five, thirty bucks," instead they only accepted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition, he has studied the character of Arnie parents, Regina and Michael Cunningham who are college professors at Horlicks University. In Stephen King's novel, Christine, conflict arises between Arnie Cunningham, and Dennis Guilder and Regina Cunningham and Michael Cunningham. All of them, with the exception of Arnie, try to resolve their problems with Arnie. In the novel, Regina Cunningham uses her aristocratic personality to exterminate the problem between Arnie and herself. In the second chapter of Christine, "The First Argument" takes place between the family, Arnie looked at them, his eyes odd and white and dangerous. "I'm telling you, I'm going to have this. This one thing." "Arnie, the insurance..." Michael began. "Stop it!" Regina shouted. I think that cars that are older than 1990 are better than the cars that are 1991 and newer because they are easier to work on, they also look better, and sound better but the newer cars get better gas millage, and are safer. I have worked on my different new and old cars, but I think that the older cars are easier to work on. They are easier to because they don't have all the technology that the newer cars have. For example my dad's 1984 Chevy Truck doesn't have all the things that a 2018 truck has on it. For example, newer car is electronica and my dad's truck has cables that make the carburetor work. There are also a lot different things that make it easier to work on older cars over newer cars. For example, you don't have a many wires getting in the way with the older cars where the new cars have a wire or more going to almost everything know matter was it is. The Information Age has transformed society in ways no one could have imagined. But when do the advancements become too much? Machines and artificial intelligence have become an integral part of our society used by the majority of the population in their everyday lives. Artificial intelligence has woven its way deep into our society and begun controlling our lives, without most people even batting an eye. Although technological advances are good, continuing to let AI grow at this alarming pace will dangerously inhibit the capability of the human brain while also putting generations of people out of work. The technological advancement that is most prevalent in today's society is without a doubt, the smartphone. People now have access to any information they want at their fingertips through these smartphones. However, this has caused negative effects within our brains as described in Carolyn Gregoire's article, "How Technology Is Warping Your Memory". With such easy access to information, people are now putting less effort into memorizing the information they take in. Those operating vehicles all fall into a certain category. Drivers, though more than likely not self–aware, have a very specific way of driving that allows them to fall into such a category; however, drivers typically do not have a problem calling out other drivers on their faults. It would almost seem that a long trip or even a quick run anywhere is really just a never ending sequence of blaring horns and screeching halts in contempt for drivers outside of one's own classification. Vehicle operators will either drive carelessly, dangerously, or carefully. Drivers can be classified into three categories: The DJ, Daredevils, and Goody Two –Shoes. The first type of driver falls into the careless category, also known as the DJ. DJs tend to blare music at deafening decibels. To maximize their disturbance, DJs also typically drive with all windows rolled down including the sunroof. The Effects Of Autonomous Cars On Society Essay Tyler Hagemeier Dr. Learst English 102 20 November 2016 Argumentative Essay While researching articles about autonomous cars, I found a few authors who wrote about the effects of autonomous cars on society and whether or not these should be introduced to our world's roads. On one hand, some authors believe "self–driving" cars should not be allowed on roads. They believe this revolution in the change of cars will destroy large industries which includes the auto–insurance industry, parking industry, and auto–aftermarket industry. However, with the expansion of these new technologies, it could introduce new industries as well. Some say autonomous cars draw questions of ethicality with accidents because there is not a human driving the vehicle. The truth is, human drivers cause a shocking amount of accidents each year which could be greatly decreased by autonomous cars. My goal in this paper is to argue that autonomous or "self driving" cars should be introduced to our world's roads because there will be less accidents, massive economic benefits, and a more efficient form of transportation. To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper into three sections. In this first section, I will provide evidence and discuss the amount of accidents human drivers create on the roads. I will then explain how "self driving" cars can limit the amount of accidents and discuss the ethics of autonomous cars. In the second section, I will explain how autonomous cars can benefit the ... The pros of driverless cars is their efficiency in travel, the cons are their deficiency in computing. The cons of a self–driving car is too crucial to accept, unless they are fixed. Despite the somewhat competent capabilities of a driverless car, humans are also seen as a leading cause of accidents. Driverless cars are not 100% road compatible yet and they are still vulnerable to malicious use. Wooden examine multiple movies and point out that the leading male characters in "Cars," "Toy Story," and "The Incredibles," are victims of emasculation. Prior to Disney/Pixar releasing nine movies, Disney conveyed all its main male characters to be "alpha male" (472). However, Pixar opened new types of characters, those that led to having the characters' masculinity stripped by another supporting character in the film. The authors draw attention from the strong male model to the "New Man" (476) role. Gillam and Wooden focus on the main male characters in each of the movies who all start with a high machismo personality, which rapidly transitions into an effeminate identity. Buzz, Woody, Mr. Incredible, and Lighting McQueen all assumed they were going to achieve the "alpha male" (472) status, by isolating from their friends and family, and becoming agitated towards any forces that challenged their power. Each of these characters quickly realized the alpha male qualities were not going to help them achieve what was expected. The authors point out that the main emotions that the characters possess in the beginning of the movies is "anger and frustration" (474). • 36. A study conducted last year by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, had cameras placed inside one hundred cars and trucks to track drivers' activities before a dangerous event occurred. Research shows users of cell phones while driving caused far more crashes and near misses than non–users. These statistics do not change even if the hand held device becomes hands free by means of a blue tooth or speaker phone. Hands–free cell phones may allow the driver to keep both hands on the wheel however, devices such as headsets or voice activated dialing led to longer... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A few of the test subjects even rear–ended the pace car. The drunken test subjects were a little slower than those on hand held devices and drove more aggressively. These test subjects followed the pace car much more closely and braked on average only four seconds before a collision would occur, hitting their brakes with more force. Neither accident rates, nor reaction times to the pace car braking, nor recovery of the lost speed differed significantly from the undistracted drivers. Proving though the drunk drivers followed too close and reacted too slowly these drivers were adept at avoiding an actual collision and driving smoothly in regards to speed, while the distracted drivers with hand held devices were affected in all areas of testing. These studies have led many to argue for legislation to ban hand held device usage in vehicles. Distracted driving fatalities caused by hand held usage has risen in recent years by twenty eight percent researchers say. Inattentive drivers are estimated to cause twenty to fifty percent of all police reported crashes; distracted drivers, a sub–category of inattentive drivers, has been individually estimated up to thirteen percent of these crashes. Many raise the objection of passenger conversation being just as distracting as hand held ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mobile phones and mobile cars might have the same expression but do not mix well together. The development of time–absorbing apps and games has come a long way in its process of just being temporarily useful programs. Each time these utilities enhance their abilities; the danger rises therefore being a contributor to becoming "an even greater temptation" (Bernstein & Bernstein 1). The device at hand could be a weapon if not an accomplice of an accident. Interacting with any hand held gadget, increases the risk of involving death to any individual, including one self's, life. • 42. Should California's Laws Be Caused By Phones In Cars? On July 1st, California's laws against phones in cars were enacted. The first of the two laws stated that drivers above the age of 18 must use a device that is hands–free if they would like to talk on the phone. However, if they are in a medical or traffic emergency they can not use any device at all. Also, text messaging is unfortunately not banned except the patrol in California has brought to drivers' attention that they could be fined for irresponsible driving. In my opinion, I do think this law is a step in the right direction but I think that every driver should not be able to talk or do anything on any device while driving despite it being hands–free or not. This law may diminish the amount of accidents that are caused by phones, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
