In the movie Cars, by John Lasseter, Lightning McQueen goes through a very large personal change or healing process throughout the movie. This
movie is more of a healing myth because, In the beginning, he is a very stuck up and self centered character that only cares about winning. By the

Throughout the late 20's and early 30's, people suffered in some of the worst ways America has ever faced. John Steinbeck noticed how people, in

dealerships specifically, as they purchased cars to help them travel across the country towards California. Through the use of tone and diction, John
Steinbeck characterizes the car salesmen as ruthless towards those who are suffering. Throughout the passage, the tone used to describe the dealers
emphasized just how harsh dealers were to those trying to purchase cars. Many times, people were spoken to as if they didn't matter whatsoever. It
had been seen that" if the women like[d]" the car, then the salesman could "screw the old man" into buying the car at a higher price than he

someone else was taken advantage of, no matter their struggles. There were also instances where people came with the attitude of others "don't want

time and they didn't have intentions to purchase a car, even if that was the real reason they were there. They diminished the real efforts of people who
needed those cars to find work and support themselves just by the way they said people were wasting their time. Steinbeck continued to describe the
merciless car salesman with their tone towards individuals with the ways salesmen saw them as "bastards on the sidewalk" instead of seeing them as
struggling just to get by on a daily basis. The harshness of the salesmen's description completely confirms the inhumane thoughts they have towards

The sound of her alarm ringing in her ear was what woke her up so suddenly that morning. Emma knew that these next two days were going to be
interesting. She was going to go camping with a group of three of her friends in the wilderness. Emma had golden hair which reminded people of the
sun beaming on a hot summer day. Her eyes were blue like the ocean and her skin was pale like sand. As she was getting ready she could hear the
thumping of her father's footsteps as he was climbing up the stairs.
He opened the door to her room and hesitantly said, "Mom and I are waiting in the car, we are ready when you are."
Emma could tell her parents were worried. This was the first time she was going to be away from her family this long. As soon as she finished

Should California's Laws Be Caused By Phones In Cars?
On July 1st, California's laws against phones in cars were enacted. The first of the two laws stated that drivers above the age of 18 must use a device
