About the Moderator

Maggie Fox is the founder and CEO of Social Media Group,
established in 2006 and one of the world’s most highly respected
independent agencies helping business navigate the socially
engaged Web. Pioneers in their field, Social Media Group has
developed social media strategies for some of the best-known
brands in Europe and North America, including; Ford Motor
Company, SAP Global Marketing, Norwegian Cruise Line, 3M and
Thomson Reuters. Maggie has been interviewed about social
media by The Washington Post, CBC Radio, The Globe and Mail,
CBC News, CTV News, AdAge and The Financial Post, among
others. She was also named one of the Top 100 Marketers in the

About the Panel
Tom Chernaik is the CEO of CMP.LY. CMP.LY’s unique disclosure solution is built on a foundation of
Tom’s experience and insights in marketing, law, social media and entrepreneurship. Prior to
CMP.LY, Tom built ad platforms for XM Satellite Radio (now Sirius XM) where he grew annual
revenues tenfold in five years. Earlier in his career, he founded Allindie.com, was a partner at
Gotham Records and served as Director of Business Development at Track Entertainment. Tom is
a frequent speaker at events held by the Word of Mouth Marketing Association and other
organizations. He holds a BA in Liberal Arts from NYU and a JD from the Cardozo School of Law.

Peter KIm is Chief Strategy Officer of Dachis Group and a leading advisor on social business. He co-
authored the book Social Business By Design and drives global industry discourse at
beingpeterkim.com. Peter has been quoted by media outlets including CNN, CNBC, NPR, and The
Wall Street Journal and featured as a speaker at events including SXSW, Web 2.0 Expo, and Dachis
Group Social Business Summits. Peter was previously an analyst at Forrester Research and head of
international marketing operations, e-commerce, and digital marketing at PUMA AG. He holds
degrees from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and the University of Pennsylvania.

Value, the business think tank of IBM and a member of the Senior Leadership Team of Global

written many leading pieces of IBM thought leadership and was in charge of the largest face-to-
face field research projects with participation of over 1,500 CEOs and 2,500 CIOs among others.
He holds a Deans List (Honors) MBA from IMD (Lausanne, Switzerland) and has received further
post graduate education at the Harvard Business School, Insead, IMD, Ashridge and at Templeton
