# Internet Security: Safeguarding Your Digital World
In the contemporary digital age, the internet is a cornerstone of our daily lives. It connects us to vast amounts of information, provides platforms for communication, enables commerce, and offers endless entertainment. However, with these conveniences come significant security challenges. Internet security is essential to protect our digital identities, sensitive data, and overall online experience. This comprehensive guide explores the multifaceted world of internet security, providing insights into its importance, common threats, and effective strategies to safeguard your digital world.
## Understanding Internet Security
Internet security encompasses the measures and protocols used to protect information, devices, and networks from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. It involves a wide range of practices designed to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Effective internet security is crucial for individuals, businesses, and governments alike, as cyber threats continue to evolve in complexity and scale.
### Key Components of Internet Security
1. **Confidentiality**: Ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to access it.
2. **Integrity**: Protecting information from being altered or tampered with by unauthorized parties.
3. **Availability**: Ensuring that authorized users have reliable access to information and resources when needed.
## Common Internet Security Threats
Cyber threats are numerous and constantly evolving. Understanding these threats is the first step in protecting against them. Some of the most common internet security threats include:
### Malware
Malware, or malicious software, is designed to harm, exploit, or otherwise compromise a device, network, or service. Common types of malware include:
- **Viruses**: Programs that attach themselves to legitimate software and replicate, spreading to other programs and files.
- **Worms**: Standalone malware that replicates itself to spread to other computers.
- **Trojan Horses**: Malicious software disguised as legitimate software.
- **Ransomware**: Malware that encrypts a user's files and demands a ransom for the decryption key.
- **Spyware**: Software that secretly monitors and collects user information.
### Phishing
Phishing is a social engineering attack that aims to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. Attackers often masquerade as trusted entities in email or other communication channels, tricking victims into providing their information.
### Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks
MitM attacks occur when an attacker intercepts and potentially alters communication between two parties without their knowledge. This can lead to the unauthorized acquisition of sensitive information.
### Denial-of-Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attacks

6. Documentary analysis Research https://youtu.be/urRVZ4SW7WU
I'll be focusing on this documentary category called Participatory Documentaries which grabbed my attention right away, with it being a
story based of someone who climbs mountains and how it got my attention was through how the voice of god of someone interviewing
our protagonist being Alex Honnold and making it sound intense, by it adding intense non diegetic sound. To really grasp your attention.
Furthermore, the cinematography used is three different types in the space of a few seconds, one being an extreme close up of his
fingers demonstrating what he's doing, then faces into his feet climbing up and then him, in these few seconds it also plays audio from
the man asking Alex a question does it feel scary up there without a rope and then Alex responding with "it's much higher consequence"
then fades into a little blurb with a long shot of the mountain he's climbing

Long Shot
7. In this documentary also includes interviews of his friends who care about him and also explain how what he does is mind blowing.
The interviews are also a great way to get the audience's attention because it gives you another perspective of what's being
portrayed. Furthermore, what's important is howe the people who are being interviews are sat, this is important because it shows
that they are talking to someone and not the camera, you can see their body language is faced towards the person they are talking
too and not the camera. This is so it feels personal and real when you are watching it, looking as if you are there.
In the trailer it also shows a medium close up of the woman crying being Alex's girlfriend (protagonist) to show that it's not just a show about
climbing, it shows an emotional side of things, the feelings and us the viewer get more intrigued due to this because we set a stereotype then it's
broken by something like this to bring us in to want to watch it. Furthermore, it shows a long show of Alex and a camera man showing what he
actually does and how dangerous his stunts are, you can see that the camera man has equipment on, and Alex does not show how risky he is
