3. About BBC – BBC
Three
BBC Three is a British unlimited access television channel owned and
operated by the BBC that broadcasts from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night. It
made it's debut in 2003 with programming aimed at 16 to 34-year-olds,
covering all genres such as animation, comedy, current affairs, and
drama.
The most common TV shows genres on BBC Three are drama and
comedy as the target audience are more attracted to these types of
genres, as many wish to escape through tv shows dramas. In many of the
drama tv shows they hold many real-life events and storylines that many
people go through so the audience are able to relate to the characters on
the show and feel more comfortable with the characters.
In this screenshots you can see these are the most recommended and
popular tv shows on BBC Three, many of these shows are dramas and
comedy. BBC Three are able to create many incredible drama which
leves their audience hooked and waiting for the nest seasons, they do this
by creating very detailed and intriguing storylines for each character.
I decided to watch a couple of different shows on BCC Three such as
Class, Canada Drag Race, Fleabag and Killing Eve. With each different
show each held its own speciality which is able to hold the views
attentions with the cliff hangers ending or with special storylines for
certain characters.

4. Northern Voices Scheme - BBC
BBC Three and BBC England are collaborating for the first time to launch Northern
Voices, a Development Scheme for the North of England. This new partnership is
creatine new opportunities for local independent production companies to submit
ideas that are able reflect life experiences for the target audience of , 16 to 24 years
old.
The Northern Voices Scheme was created in order for the northern voices of England
to be heard as different areas and regions will have a different cultures compared to
the south, east and west of England.
Three of the Northern writers have moved and created popular tv shows such as
Tony Schumacher who has created the hit series the responder, staring Martin
Freeman. The show is set in the northeast of England, Liverpool. The show has
become a hit series for BBC, and many want the release date for the next season.
The Northern writers were created to give people the opportunity to show how
different regions in England are and that we each have a different upbringing
compared to other regions.

5. The Clients Brief
From the brief I understand that I have to create a documentary based on the culture of the digital age aimed at 16
to 24 years old. BBC and BBC three have teamed up to create the northern writers in order to inspire people from
up north to get into writing and creating amazing works.
The topic of culture in the digital is very important subject as many people range to 16 to 24 spend a lot of time on
social media and other platforms which can causes many mental health problems which can affect them in normal
life.
The digital age is very sensitive matter as social media can easily change the way someone thinks as it has been
discovered by Tristan Harris that "if you do not pay for the product, you are the product". Many social media
platforms that you don’t pay for, sell your information to business and corporation in order to target your interest
based on what you like.
Many teenagers and young adults do not know about this as it is not really known in today's society as business
and corporation do not want you to know about it as it is there way of making money and profit of your personal
data.
I understand why BBC wants to make the target audience aware of this tactic business use to sell their products.
They wish to educate the target audience while also supporting northern writers, the northern voices writers will all
have a different experience growing up in different northern regions as each have a different culture and way of life
compared to each other, but they all share the same thing in common social media and the expansion of digital
access.
This information has been able to influence my idea for my documentary as I wish to also spread awareness of
how business and Corportation uses their personal information to gain money of them and uses that information
