How to Reach the Mobile Generation (Millennial Christians)Patrick Padley
Only 30% of Americans who were raised Catholic are still practicing. In an environment like this, how do we reach the millennial Christians? We discuss ways to ignite the flame of the millennial church through the use of digital media, content strategy, social media and mobile.
This presentation was given at the 2013 Catholic New Media Conference #CNMC by Patrick Padley.

Theories on the Job & Your Future - A Message to UndergraduatesBrian Swanick
This is from my lecture with USF (University of South Florida) on March 7, 2017.
I share the principles and learnings from my own experience as a recent college graduate with seemingly nothing to offer. I figured out how to find a niche as a consultant and generally be pretty happy in a short 7 years :) (with struggles along the way)
Hopefully this helps you fast-track your own undergraduate career.

Building Your Personal Brand Online - Career DayKrista Neher
This is a presentation from the Cincinnati Ad Club Career Day - how to build your personal brand online. This presentation is designed for College Graduates and Job Seekers.
The days of handing out a business card to the right person in the moment he needs what you offer are quickly slipping to the wayside. We are rapidly evolving into a networked world that can provide real-time targeted data on nearly anything and anyone you want to meet, whether across the world or two streets down. How does this change our perception of networking as an asset in a job hunt? Do we approach it with the same old routines and tag lines?

Building and sustaining awesome business relationships with networkingJohn-Daniel Trask
No matter what you're told, business is about people - the relationships you build and the people you meet will become the key to business success.
I delivered this presentation to Massey University students studying business. I spoke about examples where investing in my network was key in future business transactions.
While some of the presentation requires me to tell a story (for example, how Microsoft provided my company with a $250,000 product on our first day in business thanks to the investment of my business partner in his relationship with Microsoft), I've included key quotes that I try to remember when building my own network.
I hope you enjoy the presentation and find it useful.

Did you know that God has a master plan, and you are part of it?
What if we could dive together into God’s story, connecting the dots all the way from Genesis to Revelation? What if these connections revolutionized our outlook on life itself?
What if this changed our outlook on relationships, jobs, marriage and our very purpose in life?
That sounds great, but people are so busy. How can we realistically hope to achieve such major life transformation? We need godly motivation, knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior.
Imagine your smartphone as the point of contact for: times of crisis; when you need prayer support; guidance. Imagine a network of other sincere, caring, supportive and passionate people gathered into a virtual small group to join you in this life-changing journey.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

12. Going paperless is good for the earth! “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” Genesis 2:15 “You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands.” Psalm 8:6
13.
14. Get on Facebook yourself! Create a personal profile to connect with parishioners and potential church members.
30. Don’t be nervous to add children in the church as friends on Facebook. You want to be approachable. It’s a way to have something in common with an age group that you have nothing in common with. ”Jesus said, ’Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” Matthew 19:14
34. Why join LinkedIn? When you are thoroughly connected, it is easy to find information, events, and most importantly: job openings. By encouraging parishioners to use LinkedIn, you can help them get jobs and better their lives. “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be.” 1 Peter 5:2
35.
36. Have rectors connect with as many parishioners as possible.
The avergaefacebook user is connected to at least 80 different pages, events, and groups
. Communication: - it's easy and effortless, it doesn't take much money or manpower to implement or use it.- it's ubiquitous, since it is so available and pervasive it isn't hard for people to miss the message.- it's variety, social media takes many different forms, words, audio and image.- it's viral, the beauty of social media is that your message can expand well beyond it's intended audience - therefore exposing and introducing new people to your cause and community.
2. Connecting: Social Media should connect your community and create conversation. You want updates and posts that your community will want to talk about together.
3. Call to Action: Go, are you asking someone to go and serve others in some way?- Give, are you asking someone to give either of their time or financially to the cause?- Pray, are you calling people to act in concerted and persevering prayer?-Mobilize, are you asking people to spread the message of the cause to their friends and networks?
Pages are like a general bulletin board for everyone that “likes” it.Groups are good for collaboration amongst a working group, committee, or staff.
Hooking families
A relationship with a child can be completely public. Communicate via wall posts. If they message you, reply on their wall.If a kid adds you, talk to their parents before adding them.
It’s important for church growth for young people to see the clergy as friends, not just religious figures up at an altar. Kids may wonder why you don’t want to be their friend and may think you’re unnapproachable
Connect with other denominations and with businesses and organizations of all types
