The Band Perry consists of siblings Kimberly, Neil, and Reid Perry who grew up in Mississippi. Kimberly formed her own band and the brothers would help, then the brothers started their own band which Kimberly directed. In 2005, they decided to form a band together. They gained success with tours and their hit "If I Die Young." The group is inspiring as the siblings have always supported each other musically.

3. History
• The Band Perry consists of three people. The group’s member are all
siblings, Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry. These three grew up in
Jackson, Mississippi with their mother and father. Since a very young
age they have been involved and very interested in music. Both of
their parents were very supportive of their children’s dreams of
becoming famous performers. The oldest sibling Kim, formed her own
band with a few friends. Her younger brothers would tune the guitars
for her and would be at every practice. A few years later the boys
came together and started a band, which Kim was their musical
director. The boys would perform at campgrounds, fairs, and malls.
The Perry’s had all thought about coming together and starting a
band with all three of them but just had to wait for the right moment.

4. Becoming a Band
• That moment came in July of 2005. The group quickly got booked by
Coke and Walmart to do the New Faces of Country Music Tour.
Throughout the years they picked up small gigs through radio stations
and had a few concerts but in 2008 everything changed. The trio met
up with Bob Doyle (Garth Brooks manager) who encouraged them to
go to Nashville to write and record music. In Nashville they met
multiple label executives, which led to them signing a recording deal
with Republic Nashville. In November of 2009, The Band Perry
released their first song, “Hip to My Heart.” The fans loved the new
bands song and couldn’t wait to hear more from them.

6. Success
• In 2010 The Band Perry released their first album, where their single
“If I Die Young” made it to the top of the country charts after a few
months. After that the trio experienced sold out tours, they won
multiple awards including a Grammy, ACM, CMA, CMT, AMA, and,
ACA. One of the sibling’s main goals was to “bring the romantic
mystique of bands back to music” Kim stated. Throughout their
journey with multiple successes, they accomplished their goal.

8. Opinion
• The Band Perry is a very inspiring group to young fans. I found it
interesting how the three came together to form a family band.
Before this I did not know that Kimberly had been in her own band
and that the two boys were in a band together. The fact that they all
supported each other through every step of the way says a lot about
them. This group has brought a lot to country music and they add
their own twist to their songs. They are one of the many groups I love
listening to.
