This document contains a summary of the analysis of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) translation. The MOU includes three articles that outline agreements between two parties. The translation involved direct and word-for-word procedures to maintain the original grammar and meaning. Certain terms were categorized as "foreignization" and left untranslated. Equivalence, adaptation, and borrowing methods were not used since the MOU did not include idioms, proverbs, or unfamiliar cultural concepts.

The analysis of Memorandum of Understanding
This MOU is about agreements of two parties. It is consist of three articles. There are
agreements, conditions precedent, and other provisions.
The MOU on this paper is translated using some steps and procedure. It contains the
lexical equivalent on the key term. Key term is specific technical term that used to explain
something which is appropriate with the case. For example the word “Party” if we use
word party in this MOU does not mean a celebration but it’s prefer to participant of the
agreement.
One of the translation procedures that applied in this MOU is direct procedure that
called Literal translation. The whole text are considering by the appropriateness of the
target text grammar. The MOU also use Word-for-word translation or close translation
that transferring source language grammar and word order as well as the primary meaning
of the target language. For example “The parties agrees to Work together” and after it’s
translated it will be “kedua belah pihak setuju untuk bekerja sama” the word formation do
not have any changes from the original text.
This MOU translation also contain F and D Theory for example the words “Gathering,
Target, cross area selling, Voucher “is not translated into the target text and those words
categorized as Foreignization .
The translation does not involved equivalence, adaptation, and borrowing
translations method because in this MOU does not consist any idioms or proverb which are
need to translated as the equivalence translation. Furthermore, it does not consist cultural
situation which does not exist in target culture, also this MOU didn’t need borrowing
concept in translating because there is no unknown or strange words for target text
readers.
