The mistakes I have made in sourcing talent
1.Thou must think like a
millennial
● Have a simple application process: CV or Application form...not both!
● Keep the interview process tight, aim for 3 stages over 1.5/2 weeks where
you can
● YOU ARE NOT GOOGLE
2.Thou shall not copy and
paste
3.Do not hate on your agencies
● Build your sourcing dream team
● Listen to your employees - who is approaching them, what are they doing that interests
them
● You are not above feedback
4. Have a relevant referral scheme
● Tier referral bonus against most hard to fill roles
● Make it easy for employees to refer and then step away from the process
● Award networking bonuses as well as referrals in the traditional sense
5. Ask relevant interview questions
6.Thou shall give feedback
during the interview
7. Get feedback from
candidates you have rejected
or those who have rejected an
offer
