Organization of Science club activities, training in problem solving and development of 
Psychomotor skill. 
Introduction: 
The Scientific and technological advancement of today is a long forward journey from Stone 
Age. As we live in a cage of science. It is essential that the student have the deep insight in to the 
background of science. People seem to possess the seeds of creativeness but climate for its 
germination is absent. Each individual has his own interest, talents and abilities new a day are found 
to exhibit growing interest and means of stimulating group participation and mobilising interest in 
learning science organizing science club is one among such activities. 
Learning by doing and learning by living are two essentials of learning science. Children are 
interested in making things breaking things and handling things. But the curriculum does not satisfy 
this natural age. This will never give the child an opportunity for his free lights in the world of 
science. An organization which caters for the inculcation of scientific attitude and a genuine interest 
in science, and also can supplement the work of the classroom and give the syllabus a practical 
dimension may be called a science club. 
Content; 
Organizing a science club 
Properly organized science club will be a valuable aid to teaching science and also a means 
of motivating the children for learning science. The successful working of the club depends on the 
person who organise it and also on the interest and enthusiasm of students. Though science club is 
run by students for the students, the science teacher is the pivot of all activities. Every science club 
should have its oven constitution. There should be a general body and a executive body. The 
Principal or Headmaster should be the patron and the science teacher should be the sponsor. 
Executive members such as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, Publicity 
Officer etc. Are chosen from among the student members. The executive committee has to chalk out 
programmes. The activities of the club should be taken up by the student themselves. There should 
be regular meetings, discussions, planning, feedback etc. 
Facilities needed
Before a science club can be established, the administration must be willing to grant the use 
of certain facilities and to provide time for meetings and other activities. The club will need the use 
of one or more classroom depending on the size of club. The administration must also be willing to 
provide time for special activities, special assemble, programmes, science fair and the like. 
Type of Club 
The sponsored must make a easily decision as to whether the club will deal with a wide 
range of science interest or to be confirmed to a limited area. 
Size of Club 
The number of members in a club has an appreciable effect upon it operation. 20, 25 
members are considered by many sponsors to represent the best size but club with as few as ten or 
twelve are often successful. 
Time for Meetings 
Meeting time vary in different club over the country some meet weakly, some once in a 
month. It would seem that monthly meetings should be supplemented by other activities to keep 
interest from cooling off between times. 
Planning Organizational Meetings 
The first meeting of a new club serves to introduce prospective members to the type of 
activities in which the club might engage it purpose is to stimulate the enthusiasm of youngsters 
who are energetic and easily challenged by intellectual problems and problem solving skill etc. This 
meeting needs careful planning, not to oversell the club, but to hold attention of the young people 
who will benefit most by the club. 
Planning the Club Programme 
Club members are responsible for the programme almost from the beginning. A Science club 
need a forward look; it cannot succeed with day to day planning. It is better to prepare a draft 
which will be filled out as the year proceeds. 
The club make undertake service projects, perhaps for Science department, such as helping 
with a inventory or for the school such as planting bulbs as part of Christmas celebrations. 
The Club may setup special Science inhibits: 
1) It may produce an assembly programme 
2) It may sponsor school science fair 
3) It may add regular service such as the maintenance of a science bulletin board in the 
corridor of the science department

Activities of a Science Club 
Through activities of a science club, learning of science becomes joyful. Whole as the 
classroom atmosphere leads to conformal and repression while activity participating in science club

4) Repairing and maintaining science equipment 
5) Finding resources people in the community 
6) Conduct debate, seminar, symposia, and panel discussion 
7) Collection and preservation of sample of chemical compounds 
8) Publishing school Magazine in science and displaying science news 
9) Developing school garden and planting the growing Aries and plants 
10) Improvising and preparing handmade apparatus 
11) Managing a first aid Squad 
12) Celebrating birthdays of eminent Scientists 
13) Rendering school services in health and sanitation 
14) Participating in scientific hobbies preparation of soaps, ink, candle, matches, toys, 
bleaching powder, nail polish, chalk etc. 
15) Organising programmes like nature games, Eco-Clubs etc. 
CONCLUSION 
The co-curricular activities in science like science club lead to the need for a organisation 
providing a outlet for the pent up emotions of children and for improve their energies. An 
organisation which caters for the inculcation of scientific attitude and a genuine interest in science 
each individual has his own interest, talents and abilities. Organizing science club is one among such 
activities to inhibit growing interest and means of simulating group participation and mobilising
