Kirsty Craig Associates Award for Enterprise
Holly Dougan is a 26-year-old student pursuing a Master's degree while working full-time and fundraising for Childreach International. She attended an introductory session for Childreach in November 2014 and signed up for a trek along the Great Wall of China. Holly began fundraising through various events like cake sales, auctions, and a vintage stall. Her biggest event was a Willy Wonka-themed quiz night that raised over £350. Holly has fundraised over £1300 total and her application to Santander for matching funds is in its final stages. The week-long residential program challenges students through activities and visits colleges to help them envision their potential. During the school year, career talks keep students engaged. Advocacy of Japanese Lang program
Foreign language teachers aim to promote their program through collaboration with administrators, students, parents and outside organizations. This includes involving students in academic and cultural competitions as well as community service activities. Teachers also work to maintain relationships with alumni and provide opportunities for students to travel to countries where the target language is spoken.
STEM Year 2
The PTA raised over $100,000 in their second year to support STEM programs. Funds were used to purchase lab supplies and equipment, textbooks, art supplies, assessments, and support various programs. Money also allowed the school to send teachers to training, purchase supplies for project based learning, and advocate for math and science initiatives. Throughout the year, the PTA organized many community events that brought students, families, and staff together.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. THANKSGIVING AND DE-STRESS! DEC. 2018 | CHINGU PROGRAM & PEER ADVISOR FRIENDS, FUN & FOOD! Written by ANGIE BHATTARAI It's finally looking a little bit like the holiday season here at GMUK with the Thanksgiving Potluck hosted by the Chingu Program & Peer Advisors. Thanksgiving is an annual holiday celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year. The students were able to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, play games with friends as well as write down what they are thankful for on our wall! Overall, a lot of people came out which made the event fun!

As finals are approaching, the Peer Advisors spent a week in the Global Lounge to communicate with students and help them de- stress a bit from studying. On Monday, we had professionals that came to give students a free massage! Not only that, we had stations to give out coloring sheets, stress balls as well as tea and candy. We also held a Paws Event where students could come relax and play with dogs. Another event that was held this week was giving out hot chocolate and snacks! A lot of students came out to these events which made it even more fun!Life at Fairfax Presentation! In the beginning of the semester, the peer advisors went to the UNIV 100 class to introduce ourselves as well as talk about our role of a peer advisor and how we could be their helping resource. This time, we went to talk to the students about life at the Fairfax campus. We talked about transportation, clubs to join, things to do around D.C. etc. Although the students are freshmen and have a while before coming to the Fairfax campus, it gave them an insight into how it will be like. The students were engaged as well as we brought in some students from the Fairfax campus as well to give more personal insight.
