Julie and Alan Hough visited the Kanamai Development Trust in Kenya and were inspired by the work of founders Dr. and Mrs. P. Walker who run a school for 120 pupils and provide medical clinics and clean water. The Houghs want to help build a dormitory for 20 orphaned students at the school who currently have no home after classes or on weekends. They are seeking donations of £6,000 to fund construction and provide these children with a safe, warm place to live.

During our recent holiday we were privileged to
visit the Kanamai Development Trust, we met
the founders Dr & Mrs P Walker two of the most
hardworking kind hearted people we have ever
met!

4. What they have achieved…
Please take a few moments to have a look at the website,
Paul & Pearl have achieved so much, they have a school
for 120 pupils, Paul runs clinics every time he visits, they
have a farm, have fixed and built wells to give villagers
clean water and much more!
Currently they are trying to build a secondary school, as
some of the current pupils are ready to move upwards.
This is a very worth while charity to support as every
penny goes directly to help the people of Kenya, Pearl
and Paul take no expenses from funds raised, they visit 4
times a year and work very hands on!

7. HOW WE WANT TO HELP!!
After spending so much time in the company of the
founders, teaching staff and the wonderful children
we were fortunate to make some very good friends!
We paid for a new building for the school and
chatted about the children.
It became apparent that 20 of the pupils are
orphans, and at the end of a school day, and each
weekend they have nowhere to go, this really
touched our hearts, and we really want to do
something to rectify this!

8. WHAT IS NEEDED!!
We spoke about building a dormitory for these
children to provide a safe warm place to live.
The cost of the building is £6,000
So I am asking all my family, friends and work
colleagues to help me raise this amount.
Any donations would be gratefully received as
this would be the quickest way to get the funds
to start building as soon as possible!!!
