Common Offset RTM Gathers (COR)
TGS’ Common Offset RTM (COR) gathers are a reliable and efficient technology
targeting velocity model building in the hard-to-illuminate subsalt region. In COR,
offset limited shot gathers are migrated separately and then collected together to
form offset gathers. COR gathers provide a superior perspective on subsalt regions.
Combining COR with an existing tomographic inversion engine and allowing updates
to extend into the salt can deliver significantly better subsalt velocity models and
images.
