Tirupati has developed and adopted environmentally friendly methods for mining, processing and
infrastructural developments
• Reduces mining equipment requirements and fuel consumption
Free-dig
mining with
zero-blasting
requirements
• Reduces energy requirements massively
Lean
processing
• Proprietary technology reduces processing waste by 50% by extracting sand as a by-product,
useable for construction
• Sand reused as a construction material on site and in local area, significantly reducing carbon
footprint
Low processing
waste
• Water discharged from processing consists of impurities mainly in the form of clay
• Tirupati has developed a tailings dam to recondition the water, making it re-useable
Water reuse
• All electricity requirements to be met using renewable sources in long term
• Solar panels installed at base camp of both projects
• Feasibility study completed for installing hydro-electricity
Renewable
energy
• Established plantations at project sites
• Participated in plantation activities organised by the government of Madagascar
