This document discusses using a texture analyzer to measure tablet properties. A PhD student attached tablets to a probe and moved them towards a fluid layer to measure disintegration. The fluid volume was enough to create a homogenous layer over a sieve to test how the tablets broke down.

measurements.
Tablets were attached with a small
amount of semi-solid glue to an acrylic
cylindrical probe of 25.4 mm diameter.

4. • The volume of the medium was sufficient
to create a homogenous fluid layer over
the surface of the mesh of the sieve. After
starting the measurement, the tablet was
moved towards the surface of the
disintegration medium.
