What is the Texas STaR Chart? The School Technology and Readiness Program (STaR) was devised because of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.
According to No Child Left Behind… All students need to be computer literate by the time they end their 8 th  grade year. All teachers need to become computer literate. As of December 31, 2005, technology must be incorporated throughout all content areas.
Key Components of the Texas STaR Chart There are four key areas: Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation and Development Leadership Administration and Instructional Support Infrastructure for Technology
Levels of Progress Level 1 – Early Tech Level 2 – Developing Tech Level 3 – Advanced Tech Level 4 – Target Tech Principal

Factors affecting our campus Lack of up-dated computers and programs Lack of time Not enough professional development Down-sizing of students and teachers Students home environment (lack of computers at home) Parent involvement
Summary In the past three years our school has not shown an improvement when it comes to technology.  As a campus we will work together to do what it takes to get our children to become computer literate.
