Pressure on television production costs

Studio cameras are expensive
For multi-camera productions studio cameras
with full camera control are expensive investments.

Triax links are expensive
Triax links are expensive, with high cable costs per foot

Transport cost are expensive
The heavy weight of studio cameras with triax makes transport
costs high, or require larger OB vehicle (more investment).

Alternative equipment usually means additional investment in
video equalizers, frame synchronizers, intercom adaptors,

low cost coaxial cable as standard or fiber optic
cable for longer lengths. These are lower price
per meter than traditional triax or the multi-core
cables typically used in other systems.

SDI transmission up to 2041 feet with low cost
