Crestwood Middle School TEE Time briefing for 2011-12 Winter Session. TEE stands for Tutor, Enrich, and Extend. Its purpose is to provide for every student a time for
Tutor – work with you to help catch you up on missing work or with topics you have trouble understanding.
Enrich – help you to get a little more information and detail about a particular subject matter.
Extend – take you beyond what you typically study in class and expose you to new experiences and topics.
2. TEE Time – Why?
• To provide for every student a time
when your teacher can …
– Tutor – work with you to help catch you up
on missing work or with topics you have
trouble understanding.
– Enrich – help you to get a little more
information and detail about a particular
subject matter.
– Extend – take you beyond what you
typically study in class and expose you to
new experiences and topics.
3. Changes On The Way
• For a number of reasons, the current
schedule for TEE Time is not working very
well and your teachers have been discussing
different ways to change TEE Time to make it
better for you, the teachers, and the school.
• We had to talk about good things and bad
things and weigh different options.
• Students need to have more opportunities for
tutoring, extension, and enrichment within
their current classes.
4. What’s The Same?
• For starters, TEE Time will still be between Mod 3
and Mod 4 – no change there.
• Next, Fridays will ALWAYS be your Enrichment Day.
This means that EVERY Friday you will report to your
assigned teacher. There is no tutoring on this day so
you will always have your activity on a Friday school
day.
• You will be allowed, through a survey, to sign up for an
activity. (You will be allowed to choose six
possibilities and then we will match you up best we
can.) We hope to give everyone ONE of their six
choices.
5. Friday Enrichment
• Will involve …
– OLWEUS Training (The Bullying Program)
– Character Counts Information
– Other information that the school feels is
necessary to teach you
– Participation in your chosen activity
• This is the only day during the week that
does not rotate. Friday is ALWAYS
enrichment and you will go to the same
class/teacher every Friday.
6. What about the other days?
• This is where the new format comes
into play. Where you will go will rotate
throughout the week based on your
current Day 1 and Day 2 schedule. It
changes from day to day depending upon
your classes.
• We know that this is new to you and will
take a little bit of getting used to, but
don’t worry, we will be helping you out
along the way.
7. In A Nutshell (Overview)
• You will be going back to one of your
classes that you have during the week for
some extra time there.
• This will allow your teachers to work with
you and your class for a little extra time
each week.
• Teachers can work with you on whatever
they feel is a need that you have to help
you do better in classes.
8. The Schedule
• TEE Time will occur for 45 minutes daily.
• The time block is 12:52-1:37, after mod 3.
• Students will rotate classes during TEE time. See example:

11. Will Tutoring Still Occur?
• As you know, now, on some days your
teachers can pull you from your TEE Time
classes and tutor you. That will still occur.
• Teachers will still sign you up on some
days for tutoring and pull you from other
classes. You will still go to your TEE Time
and your TEE Time teacher will let you
know if you are being tutored and where
you need to go. (You don’t have to worry
about that; your teachers will monitor that
for you.)
12. We Understand…
• We know this is a new thing for you and
we will help you get used to the new
schedule.
• Believe it or not, in a month or so, this will
be as familiar to you as understanding the
Day 1 and Day 2 rotation. You’ll get it –
don’t worry.
14. Choices for Winter Include…
• For the winter round of TEE time, all students will
choose 6 enrichment activities in which they would like
