Definitions Technology Use : The use of electronic or digital products and systems. Technology Integration : Using technology to create rich environments where students work shows evidence of conceptual understanding.
Where Teachers Stand with Technology Integration Educators must use technology in their classroom in order to integrate it in their classroom successfully. Many teachers, however, have little to no background in technology which results in very little use of technology in the classroom.
Why Technology is Important in the Classroom Technology must be present and used in order for students and teachers to become comfortable with incorporating it into a daily routine.

Classroom Examples… Technology can be used in the classroom to inform parents of classroom plans and events by creating a webpage to communicate. Daily PowerPoint presentations can be utilized to present the day’s schedule or daily lessons.
More Classroom Examples Other uses of technology such as digital cameras, overhead projectors, and smart boards allow students the opportunity the experiment with different uses.
Technology Driven Lesson Plan Examples Have students create weekly newsletters to take home to their parents.  It can be used as part of an English lesson for students to work on their writing and publishing skills. Allow students the opportunity to communicate current events in the community by taping a news broadcast.  This allows students to work with cameras and other technology tools.
Reasons Why Technology is Good A technology rich environment stimulates different learning channels (auditory, visual, etc.) and facilitates different learning styles. Technology makes it easy to display and combine text, graphics, sound, video and animation. Technology allows materials to be available for students outside the classroom around the clock.
5 Easy Ways Teachers Can Use Technology Integration Daily 1. Add URLs in the monthly calendar.  Provide URLs that will aid in the understanding of that month (such as a Christopher Columbus URL for October) for students to research on their own. 2. Add a daily or weekly online mathematics challenge problem as extra credit. 3. Instead of providing a quote of the day, provide a URL of the day for the students to locate the quote themselves.

What I Believe I believe that by using different types of technology daily in the classroom, students will become more comfortable with technology and it will become habit. Therefore, it is crucial to have technology integration in the classroom!
