 Background: This Long-Range plan is driven by state
  standards and by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. A
  specific focus area is (TEKS) Technology Applications Texas
  Essential Knowledge and Skills which states what students
  should know and be able to do using technology. (19 TAC
  Chapter 126) Texas Education Code
 Purpose: AISD has implemented a Long-Range
  Technology Plan “Making the Connection” in efforts to
  articulate a common vision for technology district-wide

The National Technology Education Plan has 5 goals.

     assessments

4.   Build an infrastructure that allows us to support
     access in and out of school
5.   Harness the power of technology to help schools to
     become more productive, to accelerate student
     achievement faster than ever before

    needed to evaluate emerging technologies and to
    reviewand revise the 2008-2011 Long Range
    Technology Plan.
   2. Progress reports on strategy development will be
    presented to the District Technology Committee for
    review.
    3. Teacher Technology Competency Surveys /
    assessments will be administered annually.
   4. Student competencies will be measured each
    spring for PreK through 8th grade.
   5. Each campus will establish a building technology
    committee at the beginning of each school year
