Nikon D60 DSLR
For the photography in my project I used a
Nikon D60 Digital SLR ( single lens reflex.)
The Nikon D60 makes it fun and easy to
take breathtaking pictures while also
offering plenty of features for those who
want to deepen their interest in creative
shooting. With a split-second shutter
response, the Nikon D60 captures pictures
that cameras with longer time lags miss.
Ease of use and creative options both
come standard with the Nikon D60, whose
exclusive Nikon technologies help deliver
high-quality pictures with vibrant color
and stunning, edge-to-edge detail. Such
superior results are achieved through a
high-resolution image sensor utilizing 10.2
megapixels and the world-famous Nikkor
lenses delivering razor-sharp pictures.
• When using the camera for my initial
photography, I attempted to take the photos in a
dusty candle lit cellar, however I encountered
problems with the shutter speed in such low light
  conditions resulting in badly distorted
  photographs. These photographs were
unfortunately lost. I realised that to take photos
in such light conditions I would need a tripod,
however time was running low so after
attempting to rig a tripod out of various
household objects I gave up and decided to take
the photographs in more natural light conditions,
and attempt to add the high contrast shadows I
wanted in Photoshop, which I had a reasonable
  degree of success with.
Photoshop
• When using Photoshop most of what I learned
was to do with manipulating the images I
already had to create the style I was looking
for. I learned how to make a photo black and
white for example. As well as adjusting the
contrast and brightness to enhance existing
  natural shadows.
InDesign
• Simplicity was key when working on my contents
and front cover, as the genre I am working in has
never been about being over produced and try
hard, the main point being the content. Therefore
I worked much harder on writing in the correct
style, however I learned a lot about the layout of
magazines and the columns they use to stop the
page from looking too messy, So formatting was
very important. I also learnt that you can’t add
directly to the page, but that everything either
has to be presented in picture boxes or text
  boxes.
