2. This is just a simple
medium close of the
subject holding a video
camera, as I knew I would
be super imposing him
into a different
background I didn’t focus
too much on framing
3. The beginning of the process was to remove
the subject from the background, I used the
magnetic lasso tool for this as it makes it very
easy. The programe detects the edges and
snaps the cutting line to them.
4. I chose a desert background as it was
much more aesthetically pleasing than
the original classroom background and
would draw in the audience more. To
create this I pasted in the cut out of the
subject on top of the background layer.
Adjusted some of the colour balances
so that it looks as if he is in this place
and created a shadow by coping the
cut out , making It black, reducing the
opacity , then using the skew
transformation tool to get the right
position and angle
5. So that the text would stand out I inserted various
boxes with the shape tool. Instead of using just a
regular rectangle I chose to use the rounded
edges and reduced the opacity to allow the
background to be seen through it. As the top
header would contain the headline , I added a
gradient to create a more interesting look.
6. As this was the headline and school mantra, the text
had to be bold and I had to select and appropriate
font as well as colour. I stuck to a black, white and
grey colour scheme to keep it simple and slightly
professional looking To further make the headline
stand out ,I Added a drop shadow .
7. Again, using the text tool , and choosing the
appropriate fonts, I created the informational
texts relating to the articles inside the
magazine.
I used a variety of
sizes and colours as
this varies the style
and creates a more
interesting look
