This document summarizes a technical seminar presentation on augmented reality. The presentation introduces augmented reality, how it works by superimposing digital images onto the real world using smartphones. It covers the history and development of augmented reality, from early prototypes in the 1960s to current medical, entertainment, advertising, and other applications. Implementation requires tracking user location and orientation to generate and augment data to their view. While augmented reality is growing, challenges remain around accurate tracking, limited computing power, and size of systems.
