Why the name Teburu?
Teburu is the Japanese word for „table‟. The Japanese have been using mobile phone and web
ordering systems for over 15 years now, and we thought that it was time to bring these systems to the
rest of the world. Also, we thought it sounded cool.
2. How does it work?
Teburu is a simple online ordering system for restaurants. We‟ve worked hard to make Teburu fit in
with the technology already in place in your locations.
There are three big problems that most online ordering systems have:
Full Website Integration and Order Receiving
Most online ordering systems are third party systems that live on a virtual “food court.” This means
that your website normally gets a link to order online, which takes your users to another site. That site
gets to keep the relationship with all of your clients. It also never quite looks the same as your site.
This makes your customers feel a little uneasy; where have they been taken to? Who am I giving my
credit card details to?
Teburu solves this problem by completely integrating with your website. In fact, we‟ll build you a
beautiful new site with all the bells and whistle as part of the set up. If you like your current site, and
want to keep it the same, no problem! We can skin our system to look almost exactly like your
existing website, and you can have a link to something like order.your-website.com. You keep all the
information about your clients and the system can keep growing with your restaurant.
3. Point of Sale Integration
Getting your online orders into your locations is a real pain. Most systems fax, email or call the orders
into your location. This creates a number of problems:
Fax machines don‟t do too well in the hot environments in modern kitchens. Not to mention that
almost no one has a fax machine anymore, seriously!
Emailing in orders means you have to have a computer available to your employees. Most
restaurants have their computers safely in the manager‟s office – plus who wants their staff
checking Facebook all day long?
Calling in orders to noisy restaurants means more misplaced orders, wait times for your
customers, and means your staff have to answer the phone every time someone wants to place an
order.
The other route to go is integrating your Online Ordering with your POS. This sounds great in theory,
but is not so easy in practice. The main issue is the cost. Systems like Micros and Aloha make you
pay, per location, to turn on “transactional web services” – which basically means your greedy Point
of Sale Company is going to hit you for another $1000 to $2000 to have your POS connect to the
Internet!
Now, while Teburu does integrate with a number of POS systems, we‟ve completely side stepped the
issue by creating our Online Order Receiving Tablet. This is an inexpensive Android tablet, into
which orders flow nicely. The tablet can be placed anywhere in your restaurant (next to the POS,
mounted on a wall, or even in the host/hostess‟s hands.) When orders come in, the tablet beeps loudly
until the order has been confirmed. With the touch of a button, the tablet will wireless print the order
to the kitchen!

Online Web Ordering
Teburu looks and feels just like your restaurant‟s website. Don‟t have a website? Don‟t worry! We‟ll
build one for you. It‟ll match your colors and marketing material. You don‟t have to worry about 3rd
party online ordering systems ever again – you own all the data, the relationship with your customers
and have complete control.
If you have a multi-location franchise, the money from each order goes directly into the bank account
of the location the order was made from. Never again will you have to wait for a check at the end of
the month like other online ordering systems. Our location manager makes it easy to adjust menu
items for each location. Do some locations offer delivery while others only do pickup? No problem,
we‟ve got you covered.
Already have your own website you like and want to keep? Also not a problem. We‟ll give you a
domain like order.your-restaurant-name.com and an Order Online button to put on your existing site.
We‟ll skin the ordering site to look as close as possible to your web site so that customers will know
they‟re still ordering from you.

7. Mobile Web Ordering
More people visit your site these days on their mobile devices than on their PCs. Customers now
expect your site to work in a more mobile friendly way on their smart phones. Teburu gives you out of
the box mobile functionality. Everything thing you can do on the web ordering system is available on
the beautiful simple web app.
Your Very Own App
If you need more than the mobile web application, Teburu will supply you with your own iPhone and
Android app. The apps will be uploaded to the app stores for your customers to download and keep
forever.
Users are much more likely to order from your restaurant again and again if they have your
application right on their smartphone. The app will be skinned to match your colors and logos.
Each app is tied directly to your online ordering system. You‟ll never have to update a menu item in
two places ever again!

8. Order Receiving Tablet
Teburu‟s Order Receiving Tablet brings the outside world of the internet right into your store. Never
again worry about orders being emailed to your store, or sent to a fax machine. When one of your
customers places an order, the tablet will beep until the order has been confirmed by one of your staff.
The beeping is loud enough to notify even the sleepiest cashier in the nosiest restaurant.
Orders come in as soon as they‟re placed. All your orders are displayed in the order they‟re to be
made. We have a simple aging system, which colors the orders so you know which order is needed
sooner. Tapping on an order shows all the details for deliver or pickup and the entire order, price
breakdowns, and coupon information.
When you sign up for Teburu, we‟ll send you an Android tablet device and a secure mount. We also
have an optional, wireless kitchen printer. The printer prints out orders straight to the kitchen, or to
your front desk staff, each time an order is confirmed.
The tablet will beep at you until the order is confirmed, loud enough for busy locations.

10. Your customers check ins!
Social Media Integration
Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare are everywhere these days. But how do you keep up to date with
everything happening so quickly? Well the Teburu Order Receiving Tablet has a few tricks up its
sleeve. When one of your customers checks into your location with either Facebook or Foursquare,
your tablet will notify you! We‟ll show you a picture of them, what they said about you, and even how
many times they‟ve checked in.
By checking in at your restaurant, your customers are actually doing your marketing for you. Now that
you know who your biggest promoters are, you can help them make your job even easier. Offer them
a free drink, a coupon, special deal, or a simple hello from the manager.
The app also shows your employees who the Foursquare mayor of your location is! That way you can
give them special attention, a free drink, or a simple thank you for being an evangelist for your
restaurant.
Coming soon: Twitter mentions! If one of your customers mentions you on twitter, the social tab will
show the comment made by your customer, and automatically start following that user. The device
will also send a pre-defined thank you message to the user, thanking them for mentioning them on
twitter and alert your social media person by email.

In-store Digital Displays
Managing your in-store digital displays has never been easier with Teburu. Hook our small Android
TV device behind any screen in your Restaurant and you‟ll have instant digital displays. What
displays is easily edited right on our digital display portal. Anyone with access can easily add slides,
transitions and text to the displays, and they‟ll update in real time.
