Definition of PoD
Proof of Delivery (PoD)
Proof of Delivery is a method to establish the fact that the
recipient received the exact contents sent by the sender.
Instead of requiring drivers to maintain and submit physical
paperwork every day – mobile, electronic proof of delivery
(ePoD) solutions enable real-time, highly visible, paperless
delivery, on time and clean invoice.
ePoD can capture signatures, GPS locations, voice
messages and photos at the point of delivery using
standard mobile devices.

The Store Manager
Who am I
My name is Dan, I am a Store Manager at HyperFresh Supermarkets.
I like new technologies that can help me with my daily tasks and I am
moderately savvy in using them.
What devices do I have
I own a regular smart phone that I also use to place daily orders,
emailing and texting, plus a fancy smart watch for alarms and to receive
all sorts of notifications. We recently installed in the store some smart
refrigerated shelves and connected them to my mobile devices to help
me ordering online the products that we need, when we need them.

Today the refrigerated
smart shelves forecasted
some needed products and
prepared the order to the
distributor for me.
I know that because
this morning I received
a notification on my
smart watch.
I then reviewed the order on my smart
phone, using:
AFS Web Order Management System.
Since tomorrow is a national holiday, I
added some extra cakes to the order,
I specified an expedite delivery and I
approved it.
Shortly after, my smart watch
beeped: I received an order
confirmation e-mail and I checked it
on my phone. The e-mail stated the
total charges and the expected
delivery time at 2 PM today.
At 1 PM I received a voice
notification on my watch saying
that the driver will be one hour
late due to traffic conditions.
I then opened the
AFS Delivery Tracking App
and I was able to see the
exact location of the driver
on the map: he was only a
few miles away!
At 2:40 PM the driver finally came and
delivered my items, including a superb
stock of chocolate cakes.
I digitally signed the delivery
document directly on his phone .
I could not find the credit card,
so I cut a check for the amount.
The driver just took a picture of it
and the payment was processed
in a few seconds! These people
are so efficient… when it comes
to get money from you!
As usual, I received the invoice straight on
my phone with all the details, the check
number and even my signature.
Not that I needed it.
In fact, I can always open the
AFS Customer Portal at any time with my
phone and find the complete history of all my
invoices. And I already know that tomorrow I
will receive another e-mail to fill in the survey
to rate the products and delivery service.
My customers will have a blast with these cakes!

The Delivery Driver
Who am I
My name is John, I am a Truck Driver for Blazing Food Distributors.
Technology can save me tons of time and paperwork in my daily
activities, so I am all for it as well as it is fast and simple to use.
What devices do I have
I own a ruggedized smart phone, also resistant to refrigeration
temperatures and rain. I also have a Bluetooth Breathalyzer that I use
every day, per company policy. Finally, I also have programmable smart
gloves that are handy to perform simple tasks while driving, such us
listening to voice messages, sending automated emails to customers to
inform of delivery delays, and it even has a panic button for
emergencies on the road.

I took a picture of the check and
AFS PoD did all the rest. The
Invoice was emailed instantly,
which saved me a lot of time and
the headaches of carrying those
slow-as-molasses paper printers.
Ah, another happy customer. Let’s go home at full speed!
Your Speed Is:
My day started very early
at the warehouse.
I picked up my mobile
device and got my truck
ready for loading.
The first step was
to take the breathalyzer test
to unlock the AFS PoD app.
It takes a couple of minutes
but it is a good policy for safety.
I opened AFS PoD, as usual, to
synchronize my data and fill in
the pre-trip inspection survey.
With the old software it used to
take minutes, but now all my data
is ready in a handful of seconds.
A quick check at the load sheet
and I hit the road!
The app has my delivery
schedule and gives me turn by
turn direction to reach each store.
The day was going quite smoothly, until I got a voice
message from the back office. Apparently some store
manager placed an expedited order and I will deliver it.
The back office already send me the new order directly on
the phone, updated my delivery schedule and checked my
truck inventory to see if I have all the items needed. I could
have checked the truck inventory myself with the PoD app,
but I did not want to hurt their feelings.
Well, it looks like
somebody is going to
get lots of cakes
soon.
I was on my way to the store, when I received a warning
sound from PoD app: bad news, traffic jam right ahead.
Fortunately I can just hit a button on my smart glove and
keep driving: PoD app is going to automatically estimate the
delay and email the customer the new ETA.
When I finally get there, AFS PoD detected that I arrived at
the store location and automatically pulled the delivery
document. I docked my truck, unloaded the grocery from the
truck and delivered it to the back room. I picked up a few
good returns and also a damaged juice jar, of which I took a
picture and archived it in my PoD app.
The store manager accepted the delivery
with his digital signature.
All good, until the payment. The guy
could not find the credit card! Here goes
my day! I then sent a request to the back
office to authorize payment by check.
The request was approved a minute later
and the manager cut me a check.

The Distributor
Who am I
My name is Amy, I am a General Manager for Blazing Food
Distributors. I am very practical about technology and I need
mobility to make important real-time decisions for the business.
What devices do I have
I own a regular tablet and a Bluetooth scanner.

At the end of the day all my analytics were
ready, so I logged into G2 Mobile and I was
able to verify the duration and amounts of
the daily deliveries and returns, the duration
of each route and visit, and even the speed
of each truck….
What!? John was going 95 miles per hour!?
I have to talk to John!
I quickly routed the expedited order onto John’s delivery
route in AFS ERP and it sync’ed his ePoD device. I also
sent him a quick message just to make sure he knew about
the added stop. He’s four stops away now.
That’s great service!
.
My day starts with making sure that
all our trucks are loaded and ready
to go. Thankfully, our company
adopted AFS WMS Mobile to
monitor in real time all the inbound
and outbound operations. This way
I know exactly what is going on and
where, and I can proactively
intervene in case of problems.
This morning after the trucks were out
making deliveries, I received a notification of
a new expedited order that we received into
AFS ERP directly from a top customer
through OMS Web, our customer web portal.
I took a quick look at the AFS GPS Tracking
component of PoD to see where my drivers
were and if there was any way I could
accommodate this same-day, rush order.
Earlier in the morning, at the second stop
on John’s route, a customer refused some
perfectly good cakes because they already
had enough inventory. Because the
refusal was transmitted back to the AFS
ERP system in real-time, I knew that John
had some of these cakes and he was
going to drive right past the customer
wanting them.

The driver was already on his way, when the GPS Tracking
notified me of delays due to traffic conditions.
Nothing we can do about it, but it is good that we and the
customers know it.
An hour later I was at lunch when I got
copied on a message on my tablet
coming from the driver to the credit
manager requesting authorization to
accept a check payment from a
COD/credit card only account.
A quick check of the payment history of
the store revealed no issues, so our
Credit Manager approved the payment by
check and all was good.

Feature Description
Catch Weight Items Track the weight of each individual case and allow the user to adjust the weight. If the
weight is adjusted, send an alert to the credit department to initiate a credit process.
Price Changes Enhance control over price changes to allow changes by route or management
approval.
Email Alerts Email alert to the sales department and the customer when a delivery adjustment is
made.
A/R Controls o Add Cash on Delivery Plus payment option. Customer is required to pay for current
delivery plus a fixed amount for previous balance.
o Open Item payment application and Accounts receivable statement, selective by
customer.
Photo Management o Allow user to add a note to a photo for further description.
o Allow user to manage photos – review, delete, add, retake.
Order Detail Filter Allow the user to filter order details to show only items where delivered quantity is less
than ordered.

Instead of requiring drivers to maintain and submit physical paperwork every day – mobile, electronic proof of delivery (ePoD) solutions enable real-time, highly visible, paperless delivery, on time and clean invoice. ePoD can capture signatures, GPS locations, voice messages and photos at the point of delivery using standard mobile devices.

I like new technologies that can help me with my daily tasks and I am moderately savvy in using them. What devices do I have I own a regular smart phone that I also use to place daily orders, emailing and texting, plus a fancy smart watch for alarms and to receive all sorts of notifications. We recently installed in the store some smart refrigerated shelves and connected them to my mobile devices to help me ordering online the products that we need, when we need them.

I know that because this morning I received a notification on my smart watch. I then reviewed the order on my smart phone, using: AFS Web Order Management System. Since tomorrow is a national holiday, I added some extra cakes to the order, I specified an expedite delivery and I approved it. Shortly after, my smart watch beeped: I received an order confirmation e-mail and I checked it on my phone. The e-mail stated the total charges and the expected delivery time at 2 PM today. At 1 PM I received a voice notification on my watch saying that the driver will be one hour late due to traffic conditions. I then opened the AFS Delivery Tracking App and I was able to see the exact location of the driver on the map: he was only a few miles away! At 2:40 PM the driver finally came and delivered my items, including a superb stock of chocolate cakes. I digitally signed the delivery document directly on his phone . I could not find the credit card, so I cut a check for the amount. The driver just took a picture of it and the payment was processed in a few seconds! These people are so efficient… when it comes to get money from you! As usual, I received the invoice straight on my phone with all the details, the check number and even my signature. Not that I needed it. In fact, I can always open the AFS Customer Portal at any time with my phone and find the complete history of all my invoices. And I already know that tomorrow I will receive another e-mail to fill in the survey to rate the products and delivery service. My customers will have a blast with these cakes! Technology can save me tons of time and paperwork in my daily activities, so I am all for it as well as it is fast and simple to use. What devices do I have I own a ruggedized smart phone, also resistant to refrigeration temperatures and rain. I also have a Bluetooth Breathalyzer that I use every day, per company policy. Finally, I also have programmable smart gloves that are handy to perform simple tasks while driving, such us listening to voice messages, sending automated emails to customers to inform of delivery delays, and it even has a panic button for emergencies on the road.

The Invoice was emailed instantly, which saved me a lot of time and the headaches of carrying those slow-as-molasses paper printers. Ah, another happy customer. Let’s go home at full speed! Your Speed Is: My day started very early at the warehouse. I picked up my mobile device and got my truck ready for loading. The first step was to take the breathalyzer test to unlock the AFS PoD app. It takes a couple of minutes but it is a good policy for safety. I opened AFS PoD, as usual, to synchronize my data and fill in the pre-trip inspection survey. With the old software it used to take minutes, but now all my data is ready in a handful of seconds. A quick check at the load sheet and I hit the road! The app has my delivery schedule and gives me turn by turn direction to reach each store. The day was going quite smoothly, until I got a voice message from the back office. Apparently some store manager placed an expedited order and I will deliver it. The back office already send me the new order directly on the phone, updated my delivery schedule and checked my truck inventory to see if I have all the items needed. I could have checked the truck inventory myself with the PoD app, but I did not want to hurt their feelings. Well, it looks like somebody is going to get lots of cakes soon. I was on my way to the store, when I received a warning sound from PoD app: bad news, traffic jam right ahead. Fortunately I can just hit a button on my smart glove and keep driving: PoD app is going to automatically estimate the delay and email the customer the new ETA. When I finally get there, AFS PoD detected that I arrived at the store location and automatically pulled the delivery document. I docked my truck, unloaded the grocery from the truck and delivered it to the back room. I picked up a few good returns and also a damaged juice jar, of which I took a picture and archived it in my PoD app. The store manager accepted the delivery with his digital signature. All good, until the payment. The guy could not find the credit card! Here goes my day! I then sent a request to the back office to authorize payment by check.   • 22. ©2016 AFSTechnologies, Inc., Proprietary and Confidential At the end of the day all my analytics were ready, so I logged into G2 Mobile and I was able to verify the duration and amounts of the daily deliveries and returns, the duration of each route and visit, and even the speed of each truck…. What!? John was going 95 miles per hour!? I have to talk to John! I quickly routed the expedited order onto John’s delivery route in AFS ERP and it sync’ed his ePoD device. I also sent him a quick message just to make sure he knew about the added stop. He’s four stops away now. That’s great service! . My day starts with making sure that all our trucks are loaded and ready to go. Thankfully, our company adopted AFS WMS Mobile to monitor in real time all the inbound and outbound operations. This way I know exactly what is going on and where, and I can proactively intervene in case of problems. This morning after the trucks were out making deliveries, I received a notification of a new expedited order that we received into AFS ERP directly from a top customer through OMS Web, our customer web portal. I took a quick look at the AFS GPS Tracking component of PoD to see where my drivers were and if there was any way I could accommodate this same-day, rush order. Earlier in the morning, at the second stop on John’s route, a customer refused some perfectly good cakes because they already had enough inventory. Because the refusal was transmitted back to the AFS ERP system in real-time, I knew that John had some of these cakes and he was going to drive right past the customer wanting them. = 54 The driver was already on his way, when the GPS Tracking notified me of delays due to traffic conditions. Nothing we can do about it, but it is good that we and the customers know it. An hour later I was at lunch when I got copied on a message on my tablet coming from the driver to the credit manager requesting authorization to accept a check payment from a COD/credit card only account. A quick check of the payment history of the store revealed no issues, so our Credit Manager approved the payment by check and all was good. The Distributor’s Story
